  • Is anyone familiar with dementia?

    Hi,

    My grandpa is in the late stages of Alzheimer's and for the past month, he has been in a fetal position. I would like to know if anyone has had a family member or maybe a friend of yours with a similar problem. My main question is, do they ever get out of the fetal position? I would like to think that grandpa is going to get better, but I don't want to keep my hopes up too high. Any stories of comments are welcome as I will read them all.

  • I have10 year old, and when she gets upset, she yells, calls me names.?

    She calls me retard, stupid and other names like that. I have tried grounding her, I've smacked her bottom, but it dosent matter what I say or do, she does it again. Later, she will tell me that she's sorry and that she was mad at me. I want to have a relationship with her that we both will enjoy, not regret. I know that it gets harder as she gets older, but what can I say or do to make it sink in that she can't get away with the hitting and name calling?
