It's generally considered rude to tell someone to calm down in a conflict and is usually seen as a way of invalidating the upset person's feelings. So, is there a more polite way to ask/tell someone to calm down when you think they're too worked up? I worry I'll have that slip out one day and just end up upsetting the person more and instead of getting them to take a breath and collect themself before continuing.

My laptop restarted this morning to get some updates and when I woke up the little touch bar on the top where I can lower volume and such keeps showing the outlook light blinking despite me never touching it. Outlook's opened at least 50 times on its own all over the course of 30 minutes and one of the error messages I've gotten says windows can't run two different versions of outlook and I need to get rid of one for the problem to stop. I suspect the problem came from the updates that were installed and I honestly just want to uninstall outlook since I never use it but I can't figure out how to since I don't see it in my programs list. Please help

My relationship with my parents isn't very good and it sounds like when I turn 18 in 10 months I'm going to be kicked out. They aren't going to teach me how to drive and being that I live in a rural area and just because the US isn't very pedestrian friendly this is something I need to figure out. I'm just wondering how adults get their licenses since they won't have their parents to help them

I'm from the US and I'd like to study abroad in Switzerland once I enter college (this coming fall I'll be a senior). I'd be most interested in going to Zurich but if you're not familiar with that city, please mention the city you're referring to.

I know all cities can be dangerous but being that I'd be a student and presumably walking around campus (not sure what university in particular so just answer in general) and just in area (possibly at night) a lot how safe is it? I'm a fairly small person (only 5'4" and about 110lbs) and also female so I worry about my safety when out alone. Is there a low crime rate is what I'm really getting at. I also fall under LGBT+ so how safe/accepted is it in Switzerland to be not straight?

I haven't heard anything particularly negative about Switzerland in regards to LGBT+ rights or violence against women or just crime in general but I'd be alone for the first time and in a completely new country so these are obviously things that are going to cause me a little anxiety. And because I'd be new to that country, are the people friendly? I've heard they're a bit of a more serious, quiet bunch but I haven't heard that they're mean or anything. Just as someone who's a foreigner and not too good at German I also worry about getting lost or not knowing what to do.

And I've heard that Kaito has been in Detective Conan and do I have to know him from that to be able to watch Magic Kaito 1412? It looks interesting but I don't want to go into it if its a second season or something where knowledge of stuff that has previously happened is needed.

I just downloaded Fire Emblem Awakening and am only about 2 hours in that being said before the battle between the east khan and west khan--the battle at the gate, I lost 3 of my party members from not being careful. I looked in the tutorial and it said in casual mode members are revived after battles but when the battle after the one at the gate happened the three were still injured. Did that battle just only allow a limited number of people or do I have to start over to get them back or what? I doubt I'll have to but I don't want to get any further along if I have to start over. I'm at the map now where I can choose we I want to go and decided to face the challenger and the 3 are still injured. I dunno why I can't revive them yet because one of the injured was Lissa and she got revived but the others didn't. I'm just very confused OTL

I have thin, light-ish blonde hair, that reaches my shoulder blades, and I have a longer face. I look good with my hair up so I'm guessing I would look good with shorter hair. I had short hair and bangs when I was little and looked ok but my face has gotten a lot longer since then. And I've been told I look good both with and without bangs. So do you think I would look good with short hair and bangs? Some short hairstyle suggestions would also be nice. Thank you~

I'm looking for long running shounen suggestions. Ideally airing long shounen series or upcoming shounen manga that was the possibility to become an anime. But any shounen anime with 50+ episodes would be fine. I've watched and sorta liked One Piece and Fairy Tail, I haven't watched Bleach or Naruto yet. And I'm currently watching (and like) Hunter x Hunter 2011, Bakuman, and D Gray Man. I've seen and enjoyed Katekyo Hitman Reborn, and Magi. So when playing P4G I saved Nanako by sparing Namatame but I think I chose the stall time option. Then there was a sudden 3 month time skip and a cut scene of the protagonist getting back on the train. Nanako wasn't out of the hospital yet at the time. I have another save file from right before Nanako dies so I could go back there but is that far enough back to get the good ending? If not I made a new save file you're given the option to make before the credits start. I also planned on replaying the game anyway but I'd like to get the best ending soon if possible. My second playthrough was going to be more focused on social links. In short my questions are, how do I get the best ending? I'd prefer specific instructions since some explanations I've tried to read have confused me >___< Also does starting the game over from the new file I made before the credits does it change anything? And I only maxed out one of my social links which was fellow athletes if that means anything. Thanks!

I was linked to this site from a tumblr post. The prices sound too good to be true. I'm particularly interested in buying nendoroids from this site due to them being sold at half the price of what they're going for anywhere else. But the fact that a nendoroid that just came out this month is already going for half the price it was released as has me suspicious. So I currently have two cankers sores and another one coming (a little bump appeared earlier), and I've never had this many before be this painful. The one on the side of my mouth is the worst even air brushing past it makes it burn horribly. The other two are on the inside of my lower lip and are tolerable. Is there anything I can do that'll help numb them or heal quicker? A virtually painless method would be preferred but I've only had these for 6 days and they're driving me crazy. I can barely eat anything and just orz

I can't tell if I'm being emotionally abused by my mother or not. The last 2 years have been really hard for me and during these 2 years I've been battling depression and suicidal thoughts secretly. Because I'm already depressed I can't if she's been abusing me or not.

My mother yells at me usually every day but if not every day I'm at least I'm yelled at 5 times a week. During this I'm usually called an idiot, a jackass, a dumbass, stupid, and a few other names. She mocks me fairly often as well. My mother also says that I never try and that I'm lazy but I do try and I'm not nearly as lazy as she makes me sound. She's pointed that my older sister is her favorite child. A few times she's said that if she had known that having a 2nd child would have been this troublesome that she would've never had me. My mother yells at me about my grades--they aren't perfect but they're not straight D's either. My grades are average yet I still get yelled at about them. Even when my grades are good they're just never good enough. She always says "Your sister never had these problems when she was your age." "Your sister was so much easier to live with." "Why can't you be a good daughter like your sister?" My mother takes her anger out on me. If she gets mad I get yelled at even if it wasn't my fault. Yes, she is usually angry when she tells me these things but she's not to the point where you get so angry that you say things you don't mean. She still knows what she's saying and she never apologizes. My older sister lives at home with us and watches everything yet does nothing so that she stays on our mother's good side. I hate going home knowing I'll be yelled at which only makes me feel more depressed than I already am. My mother started at me pretty badly when I was about 12 but before then she still yelled at me quite awfully when I was younger, not often but it made me develop a trust issue. I don't know if this will really help but because of her I cut, am more suicidal and depressed than before, feel worthless, feel not worth anyone's time, feel like a waste of space, makes me hate myself, isolate myself, have low esteem, and have anxiety along with a few other somewhat redundant emotions. Is this emotional abuse? I don't want to label it as abuse to only find out later on that I was just overreacting.

I was trying to open a folder on my computer and the computer told me to pick another program to open it with. I chose Adobe Reader (I think that's what it's called) but when I pressed ok it turned all the icons onmy desktop and on the tack bar on the bottom of my screen to the Adobe Reader image. How do I get the original icon back? (It couldn't even recover the folder I was trying to recover it just changed all the icon images)

It's summer and I feel like doing Camp Nanowrimo. :) This time I plan on writing a horror story and I was wondering if I should write it in 2nd person to make it scarier. From 3rd person you usually have more than just a few characters but I only plan on having a total of 2-3 main characters total. And with 1st person there usually is a main character with a lot of detail to that character; which I don't really feel like adding a bunch of extra information to a horror story seems unnecessary. The reason I'm wondering if I should write it in 2nd person is because if the main character is the reader the fictional events may be more realistic and creepier. I've been told I'm good with imagery so I think I could make the 2nd POV work but I'd like some opinions from other people.

I've been together with my boyfriend for about 6 months now but the whole time I haven't been happy. But of course I haven't told him that. The whole time I've been just trying to make him happy and have put my self aside. And I feel awful about it. It's just one minute I kinda like him (only to the extent as friends though) and the other I absolutely hate him. He also mentioned that his parents want him to marry another girl so basically he's cheating on her with me and vice versa. Which just itself makes everything worse. Also he lives in California I'm in Ohio he's 16 I'm 14 and we're both having a really tough time. We comfort each other and can literally talk for hours but I just can't see there being a happy future for us in the end. We're just too far of opposites. And I also feel like he's not telling me anything about himself. I've said a few basic not too personal things about myself and he barely mentions any things about himself. Since I'm a curious person it just bugs me a lot more than it should. For the past few months I've been lying to just tell him what he wants to hear and it hurts me more than it's hurting him. How do I tell him? He's really nice and he said he'd never break up with me and me being an idiot said I would do the same. Should I make a excuse such as make something small problem much bigger and exaggerated? Should I just un-friend him on Facebook and continue ignoring him and hope he forgets me? Please help; I regret even talking to him because now I'm miserable and just wonder why I even said yes to a relationship. I'm only 14 I should worry if I left my keys/phone at home not about a person I don't really know or not. >.<
