If I switch from USB tethering to WiFi tethering it immediately works. It is somehow specifically tied to USB tethering. I have no problem accessing the internet with USB tethering, just the VPN.

We have 5 identical towers. Ordered at the same time, same hardware, same model number, same everything. They are all using the same front end version of access to access a database on a server in the office. They are all connected to the same network switch as the main server. One of the computers snaps through the database quickly with no delay. The other 4 identical machines have a noticeable lag when opening or accessing anything in the database. Any ideas? I have identical machines using identical front ends connecting to the same database on the same server all running through the same network conditions....

I am very new to Linux. That being said I am trying to use "make" to create an install fall for xboxdrv. I'm not sure I'm even trying to do the right thing. that being said this is what i am getting.

I want to go swimming in the waves tomorrow. Just curious if I can get arrested for swimming at the beach with no life guard on duty? I was thinking of jones or long beach in long island New York. I am not interested in opinions on whether it is safe or not. Only looking for input on legality.

Having recently finished "The 47th Samurai" and "Satori" I am looking for a new book. I've read "Shibumi" as well and would love something along the same flavor as these three great books.

I have to assume plenty of people leave there dog alone at home for a normal 9-5. I leave my house at 8am every morning and I'm usually home by 6pm at the latest. When I get home she is the center of my attention the rest of the day. I just want to make sure that walking her in the morning and when I get home from work will not have any negative effects on her health either physically or mentally.

I'm lost here. I just brought home a beautiful 4 week old puppy. From what I understand I can't bring her outside yet to do her thing as she has not gotten her shots. I also don't want her learning it is OK to pee in my house in the meantime. What the hell do i do here?

I'm going to an informal engagement party for a coworker of mine. It will be primarily just the coworkers and I will most likely be attending her wedding as well. I will of course be giving a gift at the wedding. I'm wondering if I should be bringing a gift? If so what is appropriate. We don't hang out outside of work but it is a coworker that I get along with well and generally care about.

The camera system only has a VGA out that is currently connected to a monitor. I want to be able to connect it to my DVD recorder for giving copies to the police. The DVD recorder only has s-video and composite inputs. Any ideas? They make adapter cables but they all say "for video cards with tv out capability."

I am interested in buying a tablet device for reviewing PDF documents and JPEG images with clients. It just seems like there has to be a device out there with a similar screen size for less money. I haven't found one that is actually available for sale yet.

So my cars ECU (computer) got wet. Corrosion has formed all over the PCB inside. The corrosion seems to be water soluble. What product can i use to clean the entire board and remove this corrosion?

I have always maintained the Bike well and i don't abuse it. I was cruising on the Highway today at about 75 MPH in 6th gear. Temperature stayed between 192 and 196 the whole ride. on days that are a little cooler it has been running around 186 - 192 on the highway. In stop and go traffic in NYC the fan will come on at 220 - 223 and shut back off at around 203. The question is.... Is my bike running warm? Please only answer if you: A. Own the same bike, either 2004 or 2005 and are giving real numbers not what you think you remember from your last ride a few weeks ago. or B. you are a Suzuki mechanic with experience working on this model. The bike has Maxima Coolinall in the cooling system in place of the factory antifreeze. If this is making the bike run warmer i would happily switch back. I could have sworn that my bike used to run around 168 on the highway instead of 186 before i changed to the coolinall a few years ago. But trust me i could be being dyslexic.

I've replaced the distributor cap and rotor, wires, fuel spider. Plugs are a few months old. When i examined the plug it did not smell oily or appear fouled but i a going to put a new one back in tomorrow anyway. Compression check reads 125 psi for the cylinder, a little on the low side but i don't think it's low enough to stop the cylinder from firing all together. The truck has been running very rough and hesitating on acceleration. I unplugged and replugged each wire while the truck was running. Each one cause the expected severe effect on idle till i got to cylinder 3. When i unplug number 3 it makes NO difference in the rough idle at all. No difference means it's not firing in the first place.

I know it sounds strange but I can't tell if my clavicle has mended correctly. I broke it three weeks ago and it just doesn't feel right. also the skin seems to tent sometimes but not others. If i did have a nonunion would i know? would it hurt constantly like when i first broke it or would it just feel wrong?

OK so it has been theorized that the energy levels and densities that will be present during operation at the Large Hadron Collider could cause a singularity (Micro Black Hole) or even formation of Stranglets might be possible.

Here it is simply stated as fact that a MBH would collapse almost instantly due to Hawking Radiation, without absorbing any matter from earth. At the same time A lot of people (myself included) believe that any singularity will immediately begin to leach off matter from anything around it. As far as i can tell the LHC itself will have a lot of mass that could be potentially absorbed. If one side is right the LHC is just a platform for research, if the other side is right then the moment a MBH forms our solar system will start to draw in to that singularity exponentially growing density and power.

"Because Hawking radiation allows black holes to lose mass, black holes that lose more matter than they gain through other means are expected to dissipate, shrink, and ultimately vanish. Smaller micro black holes (MBHs), which could be produced at the LHC, are currently predicted by theory to be larger net emitters of radiation than larger black holes, and to shrink and dissipate instantly.[58] The LHC Safety Assessment Group (LSAG) indicates that "there is broad consensus among physicists on the reality of Hawking radiation, but so far no experiment has had the sensitivity required to find direct evidence for it." This states that Hawking Radiation and therefore it's ability to dissipate a black hole are untested theories themselves.

Even worse is the potential for Stranglets which again would spell the demise of our entire planet.

"Strangelets are small fragments of strange matter—a hypothetical form of quark matter—that contain roughly equal numbers of up, down, and strange quarks and that are more stable than ordinary nuclei (strangelets would range in size from a few femtometers to a few meters across).[6] If strangelets can actually exist, and if they were produced at the LHC, they could conceivably initiate a runaway fusion process in which all the nuclei in the planet would be converted to strange matter, similar to a strange star."

So what benefit will we draw from the LHC that is worth these very real and potentially apocalyptic side effects.

I have seen squibs and blanks referred to as though they are two different things. Are they?
