on my unpaid day off can my boss force me to attend a conference?
I am a hair stylist and I do not work on Saturdays. My boss is demanding I attend an out of town hair show at my expense. She is not going to pay me for the day. I already had important plans for this particular day. She has made it clear there will be repercussions if I do not attend. She is not an understanding individual and has not listened to reason on this or past occasions. I have never signed a contract agreeing to this type of situation. What recourse do I have? I am ready to resign.
