  • Living in NYC as a law student?

Next year I'll be applying to law school and I am considering Columbia and NYU. I love NYC from visiting it, but I don't really have any idea how the city works or what it is like living there. I'm in a relationship with a long-time girlfriend and have three dogs. I won't be able to work but she will. She just has a high school education but 4 years sales experience, what kind of salary can she expect? I'm guessing living in Manhattan would be out of the question, what is it like commuting to the city from another borough? I've never been anywhere but Manhattan so I don't even know what to expect living anywhere else.

Any other advice or opinion other than what I have asked would be appreciated as well.

  • Why do stupid people have the most kids?

It seems that the stupidest people always have the most kids, dosen't it? We've all seen the redneck family or welfare mom with 6+ kids are barely any father figure. Or the other way around, I know plenty of guys that have several kids with different women (some never even see the kids or aren't sure how many they have). What's the one thing in common with these mass breaders? They are all dumb as rocks. It used to be the elite intelligesta had the same birthrate as the lower classes but better healthcare and therefore lower infant mortality. Today though, the most intelligent have very few kids while the dumbest have several.

    Why is it?

  • Ellen DeGeneres Show Ratings and Demographics?

I'm trying to find ratings and demographic information for viewers of the Ellen DeGeneres talk show. I've looked on wikipedia and nielsen but cannot find it. It seems that neilsen charges for these reports (obviously) but I can't find them reprinted anywhere. Even the wikipedia stub the claims the show has 3 million daily viewers does not have a source and is marked unverified.

  • Texas tech law, whats life like in Lubbock? How is the school?

I've been accepted to Texas Tech Law and so far they are my top choice considering the scholarship they offered me. However, on other law forums I kept reading about people worried about "moving to Lubbock". It seems to have a bad reputation. Can any current/former Texas Tech students shed some light on what it was like attending there. I would be moving from Wilmington, DE.

  • bacterial infection? Help diagnose with these symptoms?

I've been pretty sick for the past 4 days. In fact, all this Winter I have been sick on and off. I usually don't get sick or take any medication, I just tough it out and only see the doctor if I have to. However, I just sneezed a huge piece of bloody phlegm (about the size of a silver dollar). Aside from that phlegm I have had a constant cough, headaches, drowsiness and a really sore throat. From the little bit of research I have done online it seems like it is either Flu or a bacterial infection, the size of the phlegm has got me a little worried, though.

  • How can I use my TI-89 to place random numers in an ordered array?

I'm a little frustrated with my TI-89, the functions are a lot different than the TI-83+. I need to find out how to use my TI-89 to order numbers, meaning I will have a set of random numbers and have the calculator organize them for me.

  • Night time science classes?

I am attending law school this fall for my JD/MBA. After school I plan on going into work full time, however I would still like to continue my education at night. I would like to take more science and math courses. Do any schools in the Philadelphia region offer good science courses at night, such as Temple, UPenn, Drexel, etc?

  • JD/MBA application question.?

I am planning on going to law school for a JD/MBA. Generally do people apply at law school first and than for their MBA? What if I get accepted for my JD but not MBA, will I have an opportunity to apply later if my grades are good? I know this is differerent for every university but I am just trying to find a general consensus.

  • Eligibility for resident tuition?

I know every school is different, but what is generally acceptable for resident tuition? I'm planning on going to law school and in my state (Delaware) there is only one and I don't plan on going there. What is usually required to be eligible for resident tuition? My girlfriend is going down with me and will work, if my household has income does that mean I qualify after a year?

  • St. Petersburg florida real estate?

I'm planning on moving to St. Petersburg, Florida, specifically the Gulfport community. I may be going to school down there and would like to buy a house or condo. I'm leaning towards a condo so I can be on the waterfront. What do people in condos do about watercrafts? If I move down to Florida from delaware I'm going to have to trade in my car for a boat or a couple jet skis! Do some condos include a slip in the condo fees? How much are condos fees typically? I'm looking in the 150K-250K range.

  • Full Scholarships vs Higher Tier law school + loans?

I'm applying for law school this fall for my JD/MBA. Originally I wanted to go to a local school (Widener) part time so I could keep my full time job and my house. However, after considering the fact I will sink hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt I have decided to see if I can get a full scholarship from a lower tiered law school. My question is what do you think would be better, racking up students loans at a good law school full time, getting a free pass to a Tier 3 or 4 law school or going to school part time and do half and half?

Just a little background, I am 22 years old and have a pretty successful job. I own my own home and go to school in the evening. My GPA is 3.6 and my LSAT is 157. Any insight at all would be a huge help. Thanks in advance!

  • Law school financial aid?

I have an above average GPA and LSAT score and plan on going to law school in the fall. I was planning on going somehwhere near my house, but I'm begining to think I may have a better experience full time. Because of my high marks I plan on going to the place the offers the best financial aid. I have never applied for financial aid for my undergrad degree because I work full time. After you get accepted to a school how long do you have to decide? Do they tell you how much aid you are going to get right away or after you apply for aid? I see on LSACs website that some universities give more than full tuition, I suppose for books and living expenses, has anyone received more than full financial aid? How much?

Any insight you have would be very appreciated!

  • Has anyone ever gone back for an undergraduate degree after receiving a graduate degree?

I will be attending school for my MBA/JD in the Fall. However, I would love to learn more about math and science. As and undergrad I didn't take any science or math classes really, but now I have a great desire to take them. Is this completely unheard of? If I become a lawyer will I have time to take a few science classes at night?
