What are the worst parts of being a veterinarian-? ?
Ok its too late to become a veterinarian for me. But I can't help thinking and wishing I had not been discouraged by family when I was younger to become a vet. So how about telling me the worst parts of this career. Would really like to hear from some Licensed Veterinarians.
8 AnswersZoology1 decade agoA question for a dentist, does previous infection alway warrant a root canal-?
Three years ago, my then 10 year old daughter had a large filling put in on #19. Then 3 months ago, she complained of some soreness in the area and the next morning a large abscess had erupted adjacent that tooth.
After completing a regimen of antibiotics, she has had no re-occurrence of infection or pain. Should we go ahead with a root canal and crown, or take a carefully monitored "way-and-see" approach.
I understand that bacteria can lurk deep in the tooth, is it possible that the antibiotics worked and that she might not experience anymore problems for several years, if at all -? Luckily we have insurance and savings, so cost it not the issue.
However, she is mentally handicapped, so I hate to put her through the procedure if its not necessary, as well has the fact that the tooth will be structurally altered and that dental hygiene required around the crown might not always be supported by caregivers in the future. Thanks for your replies.
