  • How much will several A-'s hurt my college admission chances?

I'm a junior in high school and have gotten straight As up until now (3rd quarter) where it looks like I will end with 3 to4 A-'s out of my seven classes.  Will this have a significant impact on my college application?

  • Do colleges/unis see how many ACTs you take?

I'm a high school junior and have taken the act twice.  (33 and then 35) I was planning not to take it anymore but then found out my school was offering a free act test for all juniors.  I was wondering if my score was to go down would colleges see it?  Or would they see that I chose NOT to send that particular test?

    thanks!

  • Should I spend break competing or vacationing?

I qualified for a national skiing competition in Colorado (never done it before) during my spring break.  The issue is that my family planned a vacation in Naples, FL during the exact same days.  I was really looking forward to Florida but I feel it's wrong to refuse my spot at the competition.

  • Is it weird to start dancing in public?

Sometimes I just get the urge to start dancing, and when I do, i feel very happy but it's always a slightly restricted happiness because i know I get judged.  My friends think it's funny but they never do it.  Why doesn't anyone dance anymore? world needs more movement

  • should I spend money travelling or save for college?

This summer I would very much like to travel to europe for 1.5 weeks, but I was wondering if the smarter choice would be to save the $1500-2500 for university?

  • should feel bad that I gave money to a beggar?

16 yo female I was walking alone from my car into a building when I this woman on her bike, accompanied by a man on another bike. the woman stops and says 'excuse me can i ask you something?' while the man rides away .she says that she hasn't eaten in two days and shows me a dime in her hand and says it's all she had. She asked if I could help her out. I was very scared at that point as I had never experienced this kind of situation before. There was no one else around and out of fear mostly I gave her a five dollar bill. She says that she and her friend need 12 dollars to buy the popeyes chicken bucket. I gave her 7 more dollars and she thanked me. I know she asked me because I looked young and vulnerable. I just feel like now I shouldn't have done it.

  • Travelling alone at 16?

I am a 16 year old female and I live in the United States. This next spring break, I was thinking of going on holiday on my own. I have a job so I could pay for all the expenses but was wondering if it is ok/safe for me to travel alone to Europe for a week? I was thinking but am no limited to Spain (I speak spanish), portugal, malta, or maybe greece. My family travels overseas often so I have experience navigating public transportation and such. I suppose I'm wondering if it's a good idea and/or if anyone has any advice. thanks

  • Parents won't allow me to purchase a car with my own money?

I am in high school and could really use a car (to get to/from school, work, and sports). My parents both work full time and utilize our current two cars. My dad used to drive me to school but now his starting time has changed so he told me I would have to bike, which I would be completely fine with except here in MN it would be a bit impossible from november to april due to the cold/snowy conditions. I have a job and could pay for it myself (insurance and everything as well) but my parents deem buying my own car ridiculous and become angry at me whenever I bring it up. They always tell me to cycle or get a ride from someone else to extracurriculars. They could be right (I'm merely a teenager after all) but I just feel like everyone's life would become so much easier if I could transport myself.
