  • Tax filing: separated for 3 years, 3 kids, what do I file?

    My soon to be ex and I have been separated for the last 3 years. We have not lived together since June of 2004. We have 3 boys, who lived the whole year with me. I was told I could file as single and claim all 3 boys since they lived the whole year with me. He's now upset with me because I did this. I've already filed. He's upset because he's going to have to pay this year.
