  • Stealing then applying?

I might deserve a few stupid slaps for this question but here it goes... Story made short, I stole from Walmart when I was 18, got banned THEN paid off my ticket and apologized and it never went on my record. I've worked several serious jobs that background check since (UPS and currently American Airlines) so I am sure that my record hasn't been affected. Ready for the stupid part? I've changed my ways and I'm not going to do it again, and I want a second job. So I applied at the WalMart! They have my name and social from the app and they want to sched me for an interview. Do I take the job? Are they even going to consider me? I don't need any criticism or punishment. I know I got off easy and I will NEVER steal again, I'm just here for advice. Thanks in advance for all your input!

  • Can I get my learners' permit @ the age of 19 in Texas?

I know the basics of driving, but I don't want to take the drivers' test yet. Can I still get a learners' permit, and how long would I need to keep it? Please, do not tell me the laws for 15 16 and 17 yr olds...As I am no longer a minor. Best answer goes to the FIRST person to ACCURATELY answer BOTH of my questions. Thanx in advance

  • Job Corps, Work/Community College, or Air Force?

This is a tough, but manageable situation. I am a dad of 19 yrs old with a few choices... I have all my paperwork filled out for a local Community College and I'm set on transferring to the Univ of Oregon next year. I have a GREAT chance of getting hired @ the Home Depot this week, just waiting on my background check. My stepdad however doesn't want to work with me n my mom to help me back and forth to work until I can get a car. He thinks JOB CORPS is the best idea for me. I also have the backup plan of going into the military if school doesn't work out. I even scored an 85 on the ASVAB! But I dnt have enough money to marry the mother of my son so I can get in the military... I need an opinion please, I don't want to go to Job Corps. That sounds like I'd be taking steps BACKWARDS

  • Thinking of applying for disability or governmental assistance...?

I'm 18 and have always had a mild visibility handicap. I graduated with a 2.9 GPA, and now my parents want me to either go into the military or job corps. My sight w/o glasses is good enough to see, drive, and read. However not good enough to pass the vision test @ the DMV. According according to the Air Force the ONLY disqualifying factor is my vision. I don't want to be on gov't assistance for life or anything like that, b/c I am don't believe in using gov't programs like that. I'm not asking this for sympathy or an easy way out. I'm asking because I believe that SOMEBODY can offer good advice. Thanks in advance for your help.
