Brigardo

So there's this girl I've had a crush on since the start of last year whom I was planning to ask to my school's upcoming homecoming dance, but about whom I know little information about, other than her name. Of course, things happen and there's this other girl I think really likes me and whom I've become friends with, who's just been dumped by her boyfriend, and she seems to be feeling kind of betrayed. Should I abandon my infatuation with one to try to cheer up the other, or would it be okay to see if the girl whom I've had a crush on since freshman year would like to go to the dance with me? I think it would be fun either way, but I just don't want to hurt her feelings, and the thought of being rejected is kind of causing me anxiety. What do you think I should do?
