6 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoDo you believe that Brock Lesnar can ever be ranked #1 in the political institution known as MMA?
He is about the only fighter that I have been willing to lay down $60 for a PPV in the last year or so and I actually see that other than a 5 second lapse that me avenged later, he has been the top heavy in the business. I do like Georges St-Pierre, but his fights are kind of like watching a great soccer team in that he is extremely skilled but does not put you on the edge of your seat too often. Anderson Silva is great, but would have lost if not for some luck and a opponent who gets himself into submissions. Fedor Emelianenko is all hype in the few times I have seen him.
So is Lesnar as dominant as he seems and can he ever get the respect of the voters?
5 AnswersMartial Arts1 decade agoNFL rookie QB question - just for fun see what you think?
I got to looking back and came up with a cool formula where I took the 10 best QB ratings over the last 4 years (wanted to go more, but too much turnover) and then averaged it by giving each QB %10 for each year in the top 10. Thus if they were there for 3, I took their average times 1.3, and 2 years would be 1.2. Anyway, it does not matter how I did that part, the questing is based on this below do you believe that a rookie QB should be paid more than any other position and better yet more than someone like Brady?
Here are my rankings and where each were drafted:
Peyton Manning 137.9 - 1st overall
Tony Romo 133.6- undrafted
Drew Brees 130.9- 32nd
Tom Brady 130.5- 199th
Ben Rothlisberger 122.8- 11th
Bret Farve 121.8- 33rd
Kurt Warner 121.3- undrafted
Carson Palmer 119.6- 1st overall
Aaron Rodgers 118.2- 24th
Philip Rivers 117.8- 4th
Matt Schaub 114.8- 90th
David Garrard 112.4- 108th
Donovan McNabb 111.2- 2nd overall
Jeff Garcia 110.9- undrafted
Damon Huard 107.8- undrafted
Chad Pennington 107.1- 18th
Marc Bulger 102.2- 168th
Matt Hasselbeck 100.5- 184th
Matt Cassel 98.3- 230th
Mark Brunell 95.2- 118th
I could list all the first round picks over the last 10 years and what happened to them, but this is already long enough to get the point.
2 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoAnyone know how and why Pat Riley is the one who trademarked the phrase "three-peat" for commercial use?
As a long time Lakers fan, I believe that Showtime won 3 championships in 4 years in the 1980s and the Lakers three-peats were under John Kundla back in the 1950s and Phil Jackson 2000, 2001, 2001 and again 2009, 2010, 2011.
5 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoA better solution to the NBA Championship to make sure the best team wins?
option 1 could be a "consolation game" so that we would know who the true best team is outside of L.A. and Miami
option 2 could be that the number 1 seeds are automatically in the conference finals and there are 8 other playoff teams who get the "fair" opportunity to advance without facing L.A. or Miami until that point.
option 3 since the playoffs are way too long anyway, just omit them for the next few years and have a championship series between L.A. and Miami
5 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoHow offended would the Lakers haters be if L.A. was able to land a trade for CP3?
Would it be as strong a backlash as when Pau came aboard?
9 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoDo you get way too many unwanted credit card solicitations in the mail?
It seems like mail in general has really decreased with all the electronic transactions we do these days, but the pre-approved credit card solicitations keep coming.
I have decided that there are 2 options to deal with this.
1. place some other junk mail in their envelope and mail it back for fun - they pay for postage each way and get the same junk mail that you get!
2. go to one of the sites that allow you to "opt out" of these, supposedly this will at least bring a significant decrease in the credit card offers you get.
Which option do you think is best?
1 AnswerPolls & Surveys1 decade agoRate my fantasy team . . . , oh heck instead lets rate my favorite son?
He is a native Texan who has coached college at Houston, Oklahoma State, and Kansas.
He coached for 7 NFL teams from 1976 til 2006.
He is the 7th head coach for the Cowboys.
He is a nice looking (according to the women), yet humble guy.
He is smarter than the media (local included) makes him out to be, he just don't want to show off that big ole' IQ thingy up in that size 8 noggin.
Oh yea, we still have the Red Jesus guy to blame if things go wrong anyways.
Anyways, let me know what you think of him. . .
2 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoAs soon as the NFL draft ended, what were the odds on the Cowboys being first to sign their #1 pick?
after that, they are now the first to have all picks signed also.
Eugene Parker being a Cowboys fan kind of helps us some - ha ha
3 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoJimmy Johnson To Try His Hand At "Survivor: Nicaragua"?
they should do a NFL coaches edition or at least include Jimmie Johnson as well.
2 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoHow the heck to you go about getting financial aid for college if your parents provide as they are supposed to?
Actually, I am the parent and get so upset when I see people screw the system while my daughters cannot get a dime to help them based on my income. They both had 4.0 or above, but were not in the top 10% and one is in her third year of college and having to do it all on loans. Where I get upset is that the government (robin hood $*%%$*#) seems to think that I should be responsible for my 18 and 21 year old ADULT children. While I try to help by paying insurance and help with living expenses, they are trying to make it on their own and being punished because of my having a decent career while my wife has friends who live in $400,000 houses and have had multiple bankruptcy filings somehow get their kids into private colleges for free.
If anyone knows how to advise them on getting some kind of actual aid, it would be greatly appreciated as I obviously do not have any idea on how to play the system or something.

Kurt Rambis
Larry Spriggs
Bob McAdoo
Michael Cooper
Mike McGee
Byron Scott
Earvin Johnson (you know Magic)
James Worthy
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

We have as much talent as any team in the NFL, not even my boy could mess this up!
Right?
6 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoI am really starting to get Ghana-rrhea, how about you - can they make the finals?
Even though they took out my country and put a cap over the biggest chance we have ever had to really get American fans to give the sport a chance, I do enjoy watching Ghana play. With Brazil (Brasil) losing earlier, there is a really good chance for them to make the finals.
How far do you think they will go?
3 AnswersFIFA World Cup (TM)1 decade agoHow do you think Mexico will do against Argentina today?
I feel that Artentina and Brazil are the top teams still in the World Cup, does Mexico win or keep it close?
5 AnswersFIFA World Cup (TM)1 decade agoIf Phil Jackson hangs up the coaching gig, who would be the best coach to step in?
I love the Lakers, but we have to realize that they had a REALLY crappy list of coaches between Pat Riley and Jackson, in fact here it is:
Mike Dunleavy - 2 years, Randy Pfund - 66 games, Bill Bertka - 2 games, Earvin Magic Johnson - 16 games, Del Harris - 4 years, Bill Bertka - 1 game, Kurt Rambis - 37 games, Phil Jackson - 5 years - 3 championships, Rudy Tomjanovich - 43 games, Frank Hamblen - 39 games, Phil Jackson - 5 years - 2 championships
6 AnswersBasketball1 decade agoCould you imagine if Germany fails to advance?
that would be more strong evidence that Europe is no longer the very best in the sport, it is South America now.
Uruguay, Brazil, Paraguay, Chile, and Argentina have a combined record of 10-0-2 that is 10 wins, no loss, and 2 ties.
4 AnswersFIFA World Cup (TM)1 decade agoGiant's fans, how do you see the playoffs going?
I've been avoiding this arena for most of the last year due to biased opinions, but just wondered if the Giants fans will still be sitting in front of their televisions during the playoffs. They always seem to think that the "Big Smurf" works harder and has more talent than everyone else, but the Big question is who do they root for now???
BQ: Were the Giants a bit lucky or just a one year wonder?
