  • Valium to help before a speech - palpitations?

Hello, I have a really bad problem speaking in front of classes. Every time I try to speak, even before I start, my heart is beating so hard and fast I almost get sick. I have been prescribed valium in the past for anxiety before some minor procedures. I was wondering if taking a valium would alleviate my anxiety and ultimately my heart jumping out of my chest. Thanks.

  • Is Assassins Creed Brotherhood much improved from AC 2?

I recently purchased AC 2. I really enjoyed the original AC even though it was a bit repetitive. However, in AC 2 planning your assassinations have essentially disappeared. Also, there are sooooo many cut scenes that I can never get into the game. For every 5 minutes of play there is 1 minute of cut scenes. Does anyone else feel this is taking away from the game? Also, for those of you who have played AC Brotherhood, is it worth buying? Based on AC 2 I wouldn't purchase AC Brotherhood unless it was drastically improved. Thanks.

  • Grout stuck on tile...?

I just installed a backsplash in my kitchen. It is glass mosaics with slate - 1x1. Today I began grouting and after it sat for 2 hours ( as instructed) I began wiping it down with a wet sponge. After scrubbing it for about an hour there is still a considerable amount of grout on the tiles - especially the slate. I used non sanded grout which is recommended for my tiles, but it will not come off! What can I do to remove the grout off of these tiles without scratching them? Please help. Thankyou

  • I have a Jesus tattoo...?

Its on my left shoulder blade. When I got it about ten years ago I was very religious. For about the last five years my views have changed and now I'm atheist. I don't want to remove my Jesus tattoo, but would rather get something else on my right shoulder blade to counter it, or at least show my new feelings about life. Any thoughts?

  • I have a dogtra 280ncp e collar for my swissy...?

I find that when the collar is attached correctly it works great and she responds to it very well, but it is choking her, or at least it seems like it. I have up keep the collar high on her neck because keeping it low around her neck causes inconsistency with the collar's corrections. I've asked several people about fitting the collars and they all say if you can get three fingers under the collar under her neck then the trachea will not be damaged. If this is true why does my dog sound like chubaca when she breathes ( for lack of a better term)? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks.

  • Republicans, can you believe this?

Check out how similar the Republican proposals for healthcare reform is when compared to the current bill in the senate... how far to the right has the GOP gone? I mean now the GOP have characterized this bill as "the end of healthcare as we know it."

  • Is it right for members of the GOP to filibuster a bill then vote yes for the same bill after cloture?

I've asked similar questions, but they keep getting deleted and I don't know why. This is a legitimate question. The Republicans in the senate, whether you think its right or wrong (and that is the question), are filibustering bills, but when cloture is reached they vote yes on the bill anyways. Extending unemployment benefits and a defense spending bill are just two examples.

  • How long can amoxicillin make you dizzy?

I started on the amoxicillin 500mg 2 and 1/2 days ago. In this time, I only took a total of six pills; two on Monday, three on Tuesday, and one this morning (Wednesday). I noticed the dizziness Tuesday, but it didn't become bad until after I took my pill this morning. So, I am still very dizzy and the last pill I took was about 13 hours ago (right now it's Wednesday night). Anyone know how long I could be this way? How long will it take for 6 pills to get out of my system? Thanks.

  • Where can I find the specific law cases?

For my project I am covering sports contracts. It is very broad, but I need to cite a specific case. I found the case I want (Retired NFL Players Win Lawsuit Against Union), but I don't know where to find the particulars of the actual lawsuit - the name of the defendant, plaintiff, court, etc. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. BTW, I have access to LexisNexis and JSTOR, but I can't find the specifics on there either. I may not be looking in the right place.... so let me know if there is somewhere I should be looking. Thanks!

  • My Swiss Mountain Dog barks when I leave...?

I live in a towne house. While it has ample room for my dog, I do have neighbors relatively close. Lately, when I leave my dog barks incessantly sometimes for a few minutes, but often times a half hour or more. I don't know what to do. I'll wait downstairs after I leave to let her bark, so I can come back in to correct her, but it seems she doesn't bark until I get in the car and drive away. I've been considering either a shock collar or an ultrasonic collar. I don't want to use a citronella collar. Does anyone have an opinion or recommendation for the shock collar or ultrasonic collar?

  • Why does my dog pee when she gets excited?

I have a female, 2 1/2 year old swiss mountain dog. I adopted her back in July ('09). For the past 2 weeks whenever someone comes home or she gets really excited she pees a little on the ground - where ever she happens to be standing. She hasn't done this once in the first month and a half that I've owned her. Now it is happening all the time. Can anyone tell me why and what I can do about it?

    Thanks

  • How on Earth is Hannity saying this...?

On his show tonight (8/18) and I'm sure many other times, he said that every government form of healthcare has failed. He said its failed in Canada, Britain, and in France...

First off, all three have different systems. Canada has a single payer system, in Britain, the government actually employs the doctors, nurses, etc. (not the case in Canada), and France has a mix of government run healthcare, but also has a large portion of private insurers. France strongly regulates the healthcare industry in pricing of meds, treatment, etc., even for private hospitals. The WHO, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and the Commonwealth Fund have all stated that France has the best healthcare in the world! Every one of them has unequivocally said France has the best results with terminal illness, best access to treatment, and overall the best quality of care for their citizens... and they pay half of what we do!!! How can anyone believe Hannity and other conservatives when they say all of these programs are the same and all have failed?

Give GENUINE answers. Not stupid name calling I would like to hear some real arguments on why Hannity is right.

  • For all you Republicans against healthcare reform...?

Are you fine with insurance companies denying doctor ordered treatment while people die? Are you glad that you lose your health insurance if you switch jobs or are laid off? Are you fine with the fact that insurance CEO's like United Healthcare's has hundred of millions of dollars in salaries and stock options while MY AUNT, who has cancer, has been denied iv drugs that total $10,000 a month even though she is fully insured?????!!!!!!

Healthcare for profit is sickening. When will you people see this?

  • Does anyone think that the US' supermax prisons couldn't adequately hold Guantanamo detainees?

I am not making implications for either viewpoint. I would like serious answers without the name calling, finger pointing, etc. Just REAL reasons to support keeping Guan. Bay open because the U.S. cannot or should not hold detainees (in supermax prisons), OR Guan. Bay should be closed because our supermax facilities are more than capable to hold the detainees in the continental US.

    Thanks!

  • Republicans, Cheney picks Rush over Powell and you accept that???!!!?

Doesn't this show you where the party is heading? I mean, 21% of Americans recognize themselves as Republican and Cheney continues this trend by claiming that he'd "politically" go with a 3-time divorced, drug addict bigot like Rush Limbaugh over a decorated general and Sec. of State that was in his own administration???!!!

  • Republicans - How can you defend this?

The United States executed Japanese soldiers for waterboarding U.S. soldiers after WW2. So, how on earth can we do the same thing and it not be torture?

I would like to see a real, logical answer from all you Republicans out there.

  • Why is it that most major republican pundits have very little or no education after high school?

I found this link (posted in June 2008) that has a list of political pundits. The only Conservative/Moderate pundit with a decent education is Bill O'Reilly. Before I ever knew of this information, O'Reilly seemed to be one of the only "Big" Fox News pundits with any education. Hannity, Rush, and Beck have always seemed like they don't have any education - and they don't. On the other hand, every democratic pundit has at least a bachelor's degree, but many have masters and beyond. So, what I'm trying to say is why would anyone who has no formal education make the outrageous claims about knowing how to better run a government/economy, etc.? Why would anyone listen to what these people have to say?

  • How can I stop my brother from dating a whore?

My brother is going out with his former ex-girlfriend, Jess. While they were going out the first time, she was always out with her friends at parties and clubs. I had people tell me they saw her out and was cheating on my brother. Also, one of my good friends got a job with Jess and he told me how much she cheated on my brother. Within a week of my brother breaking up with her (2 years ago) she slept with my friend that she worked with! My friend officially know 4 people Jess slept with while he worked with her. Anyways, 2 years later they are back together. My brother says "Oh, she was young and immature and didn't know what she wanted. Everyone does stupid things." The most unusual part of this whole scenario is that my brother is a very good looking guy. He has NEVER had a problem getting girls and has had plenty (too many really). My whole family hates this girl because she is trash - plain and simple. What the hell else can I do or say to get through my brother's thick skull?
