My clothes are trapped in the cleaners. What do I do?
I dropped off all my work shirts at the local dry cleaners (not a franchise) last Thursday and was told they'd be ready for pick-up Saturday. I got there Saturday at 10:30, which was well after the time they were supposed to be open, but they were closed.
A few hours later, I got a message on my cell phone from the cleaners saying they'd be closing in a few minutes (which was hours before they usually close), but that I could pick up my shirts up Sunday between 10 and 2. I went there Sunday at 12:30, but they were closed again.
I went there this afternoon at 4, and they were closed, even though their hours say they're open til 7. I left a message telling them to call. A couple hours later, I called again. Still no answer.
I have to look nice for my job, and all my damn dress shirts are trapped in this cleaners. Suppose they never open again. Lots of businesses around here just suddenly close forever. What do I do? Do I call the cops? Do I sue them? What the hell.
6 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoIf abortion is made illegal, what should be the penalty for having one?
For as long as I can remember, I've heard abortion opponents say that it should be illegal because it is "murder," but I've never heard any of them say what the penalty for having one should be.
Obviously, it would have to be pretty serious if abortion is murder. I imagine they want the penalty to be something like death, or life in prison. No penalty, or a very light penalty, wouldn't stop women from getting illegal abortions, so any law banning abortion would have to carry with it a severe penalty similar to what one would receive if one murdered a newborn.

10 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoDoes anyone know how to get an account from a defunct company off a credit report?
When she was in college, this company SM Servicing put on my fiance's credit report that she owed them $3,000. When she paid them, they should've taken it off, but they didn't.
Ten years later, it's still on there, dragging down her score, which we need to be as high as possible because we're going to be refinancing in a couple months. Unfortunately, this company went out of business some time ago. We call their number and get a notice it's been disconnected.
What do we do?
