I am trying to make an inventory database using Access and VBA, and I am a little handicapped when it comes to both. My main issue is that my storage units are divided in to 0.5 inch spaces 1A, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2b, 2C... and what I am storing in them is either 0.5 inch, 1 inch, or 1.5 inch, So the issue, how can I occupy two, andor all three field values ie. 9A, 9B, 9C (if it is a 1.5 inch "widget") in different rows using the same locked "key" value so another "widget" can not reserve the same space. I am not sure if I must apply these constraints in Access or in VBA? I am sure this is possible, a push in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

My rows are roughly setup as:

Key#, 1A, 0.5

Key#, 1B, 0.5

Key#, 1C, 0.5

Key#, 2A, 0.5

or

Key, slot, slot size

So I get

=(x*x^(5/4)) ^(1/2)

=x^(1/2)* x^((5/4)(1/2))

= x^(1/2)* x^(5/8)

= x^((1/2)+(5/8))

= x^((4/8)+(5/8))

= x^(9/8)

I have a general question about simplifying polynomials. Would x^2+3x+11 be the simplest form or would it be x(x+3)+11. is this going to far, or is it really needed? if the polynomial is prime do i have to simplify any futher. thank you for you help.

What would happen if G20 and G21 where used in the same command, or G54 and G55, or G90 and G91, or any other incompatible G codes used in the same command? Would they both be ignored, would just the last one be ignored, or just the first one? Would the machine just stop, would it sound a alarm? What happens?
