How do I get my pup to stop destroying things?!?
I have an 8-month old lab/shepherd/border collie mix. She spends the day outside with my older lab while we're at work. She has bones and toys galore, and my two dogs play a lot with each other. When we get home we play frisbee with her or take her for a long walk in the evening. My problem is, she destroys everything- even when we think we've puppy-proofed the back yard she finds something new. She has even recently started gnawing on her food bowls (never ever did that before). She has chewed through the satellite cable THREE times, even after we've concealed it she still finds it. She digs holes. She dug up our drip-irrigation lines and chewed them up. She chewed up her frisbees (twice) and ingested parts of them. She also gnaws on my other dog's legs constantly. I would have thought her teething was finished. With all of the toys she has I can't understand why she has to find everything else (naughty things!) to chew. She's well behaved in the house so I have never been able to catch her in the act. What is the deal with her? Will obedience training work when we're not around, because that is when she's naughty. I am at my absolute wits end! Anybody have any ideas?
