  • California Lease transfer to another state....what to do next with plates and registration?

I just transferred a lease from the financial company associated with a manufacturer to another person who wanted my lease. I live in California and that other person lives in Florida. I know normally California plates states stay with the car but if the car is moved out of state, do they want it back or can I just destroy it myself?

Second question is about the ownership registration with DMV in Cali. The registered owner is the car manufacturer since it is a lease but I am also on that registration information, I think. It seems to me that I am not suppose to sign a Notice of Release and Liability form because technically the ownership didn't change (still manufacturer) but I need to let DMV know to take me off the record, especially since it is transferred to Florida. Am I right or do I still have to fill out a NRL?
