  • Post office: Are letters and packages that are put on hold treated separately?

I was on vacation for two weeks and I found a deal on amazon that I had to take advantage of. My parents had the mail on hold for the two week period, and amazon decided to give the job to the public sector shithole known as the postal service (They've lost my stuff before). It said it was delivered on the 29th and someone went by the house on a Saturday so there was noone there. But when we received our mail today, the package was not there. Anyway, would the package be kept in a different place than the rest of the mail that was piling up. If anyone knows how this works, an answer would be much appreciated :)

  • What's with the adament hatred towards Ron Paul?

I don't understand how the politician with the most integrity and common sense can receive such a strong disliking by both Republicans and Democrats. Although most people believe that the government should work for the common good, there would be nothing under Paul's administration preventing the more fortunate individuals from contributing to their own view of the common good. It is irritating to hear that compassion is a trait that must be forced on people, and Ron Paul's philosophy certainly is refreshing in that regard. When answering, please take the counterargument into consideration. (i.e. if drugs are legalized everyone will start doing drugs and society will be corrupted...well if you have no intentions on doing drugs, then nothing has changed in regards to your life, and if you feel so strongly about forgiving drug induced trainwrecks through rehabilitation, then why can't you do that with your own money?)

  • Will cataclysm talent trees stay in the next expansion?

As a fire mage, I've been looking forward to getting presence of mind when we get additional talent points in the next expansion. I would need to get 4 talent points in order to get instant pyroblasts, which would seem fair for buying a new expansion. Before Cataclysm, instant pyroblasts through presence of mind were possible, so I don't believe that this will be a broken mechanic. What scares me though is the Paladin tree, particularly for retribution paladins. This class whose greatest challenge is rubbing Vaseline on their keyboard for a nice faceroll will have access to a Protection talent called Wrath of the Lightbringer, which essentially gives judgement and crusaders strike 100% more power, which would make them ridiculously op. It would be strange that crusaders strike would hit for significantly more than a templars verdict with 3 holy power on it, and if you aren't going to write an answer just agree with me that the Paladin class is host to some of the most stupid spell names.

  • Why should it be illegal to discriminate by race, sex, etc. while hiring?

It's pretty stupid business policy, but I don't understand why it should be illegal.

  • How is the equal opportunity employment commission constitutional?

Essentially, the govt. is forcing the company to make certain decisions when hiring. This is a preferential treatment of a particular group at the cost of the employers ability to make decisions, which is an attack on personal liberty. I would love to hear the justifications for this b.s.

  • Has the government run anything competitively?

That has had private sector competition and did/is not require government subsidies. I would love to know.

  • Can someone please explain the "Tears in Rain" monologue in Blade Runner?

I've seen the movie three times, and it's absolutely excellent. I just don't understand why Roy decided to end his life saying what he did, as I don't see its relation to the more human than human theme. I can see him undergoing extreme pain in order to save Deckard just before he gives his famous monologue relating to the selflessness that Roy experienced over his short life being a human trait which is amplified by the fact that he is a replicant. I just don't understand why he decides to end his life by talking about past memories and their insignificance toward the grand scheme of things. Maybe I'm wrong about the quote, any explanation would be welcome, and if you haven't seen this movie; join the club.

  • Why should animals deserve rights?

I would like to see animals treated with dignity, but who am I or the United States government who likely agrees with me to enforce our opinions on others who feel differently. They certainly aren't humans, so why should it be the role of the government to protect them. This certainly is not advocating the mistreatment of animals, because IMO that's incredibly shallow, this is questioning whether or not the law should interfere with the way people treat their animals.

  • When does Final Fantasy VII start to pick up?

According to the ingame clock, i've been playing it for six hours. I think that I have been playing more, but between being lost for hours and being ill prepared for certain fights, I would definitely say that I've given this game for much more than that. I'm at the point where the Shinra President dies, and his son Rufus takes over, and everyone's scared with Sephiroth and whatnot. To make a long story short, I am short on healer materia which is really making things not fun. Nonetheless, I am really starting to question why everyone loves this game so much. Aside from the music, the game is nothing that special imo. Can the community be helpful here in either saving some time by not continuing (most plot events have been ruined for me by now, thanks for warning me of spoilers dumb internet), or should I give this one another shot? Any advice is welcome, though buying and playing VIII is not an option. :)

  • Request: Either Bagon, Shellgon, or Salamence trade for pokerus?

Does anyone have any of those, because i can trade you something with the pokerus. Obviously whatever I have with pokerus is crap, but the point is to spread it around your soon to be EV trained pokes so the process goes twice as fast, anyway my friend code is 0260 3005 1401.

  • What percentage of the South wanted to secede?

I know that the slaveholders were the most ardent about the topic, but there were some frontier type people who didn't like the national government and wanted to secede anyway. If there are any statistics or primary sources that you have you'll receive an easy ten points and I would very much appreciate it. :)

  • Does Crysis on steam have DRM?

I know Crysis warhead does, but I'm wondering if the original has it. I know the original by itself didn't have it, but they made some Crysis Ultimate Edition which included DRM for both I believe. I'm wondering whether they altered the original Crysis on Steam. Please answer, it's the difference between me having to buy a copy on the internet of the original box or just conveniently going on steam. Thanks!

  • Can you give some examples wrongdoings that would give the South the right to secede?

One would argue the Protective tariff for instance. I know that the Civil war was fought primarily over the protection of slavery for the Southern interests perspective, but are there any states rights claims that would fall into the national government acting out the necessary and proper clause too loosely and would therefore be considered unconstitutional by the states rights crowd?

  • Anyone detest Flo from the Progressive insurance commercials as much as me?

I simply loathe her. I don't understand why they have these commercials still going, and how much they end up paying for them. I hate the whole idea of a supermarket, and I hate the whole idea of some ugly ***** asking can I help you, then spews out some abysmal joke. That and the dumb gecko thing, but not the gecko as much. Does anyone else get annoyed by this person as much as me?

  • Can the fed use force against the States if they do not cooperate?

Like if Alaska wanted to secede for whatever reason, are they legally allowed to use force against them if they are not threatening the Fed so it would not be a matter of national security.
