  • Loud noise coming from under driver seat when accel?

Hey - Ok I cant figure out what this loud noise is. My car is a 1996 Honda Accord 4dr Automatic, 60k miles.

After 3 minutes of driving - I notice that the engine revving will be noticeably louder when I am accelerating in the beginning of each gear. There is a "sweet spot" in each gear where all of a sudden the car gets louder than normal. Also - I definetly notice a vibration under my feet that is consistent with the loud revving - about at the location of my catalytic converter..

It's not an odd noise - it just sounds like all of a sudden I have no muffler when accelerating low in each gear for about three seconds - but then once I get higher in the RPMs the revving goes back to normal and sounds normal.

I just had the center muffler pipe section replaced, and I had the rear muffler replaced like a month or so ago, so I know those are OK.

Any ideas what this could be? Is it the converter??

There has been nothing else strange and no "check engine" light coming on or anything...I cannot figure it out and neither can my mechanic. I am thinking about going to the Honda dealer even though I really don't want to...

    Thanks!

  • Who here is against impeachment the President and VP? Why?

But more importantly, can you answer this question without using any umbrella terms like "libs" or "dems" or "reps" or well, just about anything that just blames some "group" for your frustration/dissent?

  • Question for married men.....?

Has your wife ever accused you of having "anger management problems" or being too "angry" or having a bad temper in the middle of an argument? How common is this accusation and how much validity is there behind it?

Mine has said a couple times (only when arguing) that I have anger problems and should seek help. I find it hard to believe because I have never been told that by anyone in my entire life. No friend, family member, parent, or girlfriend (both long term and short) has ever felt I had problems with anger.

Is this just something they use as a comeback in arguments or something???

  • My wife doesn't like Indian food, what dish should I have her try to change her mind?

She claims that she doesn't like Indian food but she has not really given it a shot: she took a bite of one dish at one restaurant and did not like the texture (it was palak paneer which is understandable).

I love Indian food but I only am familiar with vegetarian dishes, she eats meat. Can anyone make a suggestion for a good beginner's meat dish that is NOT curried and is NOT spicy?

She hates spicy foods and claims to not like curry but has never tried it. I know, seems like a tough call but I just know there has to be something on the menu she would like! any help?

  • Can I have both a IDE hard drive and a SATA hard drive on same computer?

Hey, I have a 120GB IDE hard drive on my current computer and I wanted to add a 2nd hard drive. My mobo is the Asus A7N8X Deluxe and it has connectors for both SATA and IDE. Should I get a SATA drive as the 2nd one? Would I be able to boot XP from the IDE as I currently have it but also be able to access and store data on the SATA drive at the same time? Meaning, I would want to be able to use both while in XP which was installed on the IDE

Also, would it be advisable to upgrade RAM when adding a 2nd hard drive? I was thinking about upping it to 2GB from 1..

    AMD Athlon XP Barton 2800+

    Asus A7N8X Deluxe

    1GB SDRAM DDR PC3200

    120 GB HDD

  • How come there are so many conservatives who hate Bush and the troops??

We have got tons of people who keep on saying that Bush stinks and this and that but the thing I don't get is when the cons start to hate their own kind.

Nowadays, the republican folk in Congress mostly hate Bush and cannot even get a bill passed to help support the troops, they need money and they need our protection!

It looks like the republicans in congress don't care anymore about the troops cause they cant get the funding bill passed. I heard they said it was the dems fault but w all know the reps are stronger than those guys any day of the week so c'mon. Its stuff like this that made me leave the republican party, i am now indehpendent.

Let's hope this flag day will turn around those guys and help em fight the good fight here.

  • Where can a I go buy a new flag for flag day???

My old one is no good anymore because it was supporting the troops so hard it spontaneously combusted.

That, and my liberal wife used it as toilet paper for a year. Go figure!

  • How can my cat help support the troops?

I think she is being misguided by liberal media! They said that pets cannot support the troops because they are too "dumb".

  • Why is the US always so far behind when it comes to new phone models?

Seriously, Nokia has a bunch of new phones (N series and more) out in Europe and Asia, yet the Nokia phones offered in the US provider stores are ridiculously out of date and are always one or two really low end Nokia phones.

You can almost never get the new and up to date, cuttting edge phones in the provider stores like Tmobile or Cingular, you always have to buy online or goto a specialty store. Why are these providers so far behind??? Why do they keep stitcking it out with the pathetically out of date Razrs, Krzrs, Crappers and lame LG or Samsung flip-phones that break after 5 months?

The real kicker is that yes, you can get Tmobile service with just about any phone, but if you buy a phone they do not sell in their stupid store (ie. a GOOD Nokia phone), then they do not offer any support for it nor insure it nor help you with anything related to it.

  • Wife loves her mom more than husband?

My wife recently implied in a fight that she loves her mom and her family more than shes loves me....and I get the feeling that if she had to choose sides she would go with her mom instead of me. I really am crushed by this because I have worked so hard (she is still a student and I support her with a full time job, she doesnt make a dime) and sacrificed so much for her (broke off long-term 6+year male friendships and moved into a less-than-affordable apartment) and I feel like it amounts to nothing now.......!!!! Extremely frustrating....

Is this normal for a wife to think this way?? I would never ever ever put my parents before my wife, so why should she? I have devoted myself to her compeltely, but then she gives me the idea that she is more devoted to her mom than me? Has anyone else run into this problem?
