assalam wa alykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatahu “And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteousness and says, `Indeed, I am of the Muslims`” [Quran 41: 33] Anas reported that the Prophet said: "No one of you becomes a true believer until he likes for his brother what he likes for himself". [Al-Bukhaari &Muslim]. Prophet said: "Being a true Muslim is achieved by loving for people what you love for yourself". [At-Tirmithi] Indeed, in the Prophet we have the best example; he once said, advising Abu Tharr : "O Abu Tharr! I see that you are a weak person, and I love for you what I love for myself, so never be in charge of (even as little as) two people, or be responsible for an orphan’s wealth". [Muslim]

  • Funny isn't it ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

    - Funny how a $20 bill looks so big when you take it to the Mosque, but so small when you take it to the market.

    - Funny how long it takes to do Zikr for an hour, but how quickly a team plays 60 minutes of basketball.

    - Funny how long a couple of hours spent at the Mosque are, but how short they are when watching a movie.

    - Funny how we can't think of anything to say when we pray, but don't have difficulty thinking of things to talk about to a friend.

    - Funny how we get thrilled when a baseball game goes into extra innings, but we complain when a "Tarahvi" during Ramadhan is longer than the regular time.

    - Funny how hard it is to read a Para in the Quran, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a best selling novel.

    - Funny how people want to get a front seat at any game or concert, but scramble to get a back row at mosque so that they can scramble out fast.

    - Funny how we need 2 or 3 weeks advance notice to fit a Mosque event into our schedule, but can adjust our schedule for other events at the last moment.

    - Funny how hard it is for people learn a simple Preaching well enough to tell others, but how simple it is for the same people to understand and repeat gossip.

    - Funny how we believe what the newspaper says, but question what the Quran says.

    - Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, or to think, or to say, or do anything.

    - Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding Allah, people think twice about sharing.

    FUNNY, ISN'T IT?

Are you laughing? Are you thinking?

Give thanks to Allah for He is good & Mercifull!

  • Me and My Father.....?

When I was 4 Yrs Old : My father is THE BEST

When I was 6 Yrs Old : My father seems to know everyone

When I was 10 Yrs Old : My father is excellent but he is short tempered

When I was 12 Yrs Old : My father was nice when I was little

When I was 14 Yrs Old : My father started being too sensitive

When I was 16 Yrs Old : My father can't keep up with modern time

When I was 18 Yrs Old : My father is getting less tolerant as the days pass by

When I was 20 Yrs Old : It is too hard to forgive my father, how could my Mum stand him all these years

When I was 25 Yrs Old : My father seems to be objecting to everything I do

When I was 30 Yrs Old: It's very difficult to be in agreement with my father, I wonder if my Grandfather was troubled by my father when he was a youth

When I was 40 Yrs Old: My father brought me up with a lot of discipline, I must do the same

When I was 45 Yrs Old: I am puzzled, how did my father manage to raise all of us

When I was 50 Yrs Old : It's rather difficult to control my kids, how much did my father suffer for the sake of upbringing and protecting us

When I was 55 Yrs Old: My father was far looking and had wide plans for us, he was gentle and outstanding.

When I became 60 Yrs Old: My father is THE BEST

Note that it took 56 Yrs to complete the cycle and return to the starting point "My father is THE BEST "

Let's be good to our parents before it's too late and pray to Allaah that our own children will treat us even better than the way we treated our parents .

  • A Letter From Satan................?

I saw you yesterday as you began your daily chores. You awoke without stopping to pray.

As a matter of fact, you didn't even bless your meals, or pray before going to bed last night. You are so unthankful, I like that about you. I cannot tell you how glad I am that you have not changed your way of living, Fool, you are mine.

Remember, you and I have been going steady for years, and I still don't love you yet. As a matter of fact, I hate you, because I hate God. I am only using you to get even with God. He kicked me out of heaven, and I'm going to use you as long as possible to pay him back. You see, Fool, GOD LOVES YOU and HE has great plans in store for you. But you have yielded your life to me and I'm going to make your life a living hell. That way we'll be together twice. This will really hurt God. Thanks to you.

I'm really showing Him who's boss in your life. With all of the good times we've had .. We have been watching dirty movies, cursing people, out partying, stealing, lying, being hypocritical, indulging in fornication, overeating, telling dirty jokes, gossiping, back stabbing people, disrespecting adults and those in leadership position, NO respect for the mosque, bad attitudes: SURELY you don't want to give all this up.

Come on, Fool, let's burn together forever. I've got some hot plans for us. This is just a letter of appreciation from me to you. I'd like to say "THANKS" for letting me use you for most of your foolish life. You are so gullible, I laugh at you. When you are tempted to sin, you give in HA HA HA, you make me sick. Sin is beginning to take its toll on your life. You look 20 years older, I need new blood. So go ahead and teach some children how to sin.

All you have to do is smoke, drink alcoholic beverages, cheat, gamble, gossip, fornicate, and listen to and dance to the top 10 jams. Do all of this in the presence of children and they will do it too. Kids are like that. Well, Fool, I have to let you go for now. I'll be back in a couple of seconds to tempt you again. If you were smart, you would run somewhere, confess your sins, ask forgiveness from Him, live for God with what little bit of life that you have left. It's not my nature to warn anyone, but to be your age and still sinning, it's becoming a bit ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I still hate you...... IT'S JUST THAT YOU'D MAKE A BETTER FOOL FOR GOD.

    So REMEMBER :

Quran [14:22] : " And Satan will say when the matter is decided ( The Disbelievers entered the hell ) : "It was Allah Who gave you a promise of Truth: I too promised, but I failed in my promise to you. I had no authority over you except to call you but ye listened to me: then reproach not me, but reproach your own souls. I cannot listen to your cries, nor can ye listen to mine. I reject your former act in associating me with Allah. For wrong-doers there must be a grievous penalty."

  • This Message is to You O Concealed Jewel, O Protected Rose !?

It is to you, the Cultivator of Generations, Producer or Great Men.

I will point out in it some of what Islam requires of the individual and the society concerning the rights of women .....

    1. Have you seen the Jewel? Why is it that the people love it while it is simply a piece of stone? It is because it is not so easy to see it, nor can you touch it except by paying an exorbitant price. Similar is the case of the woman – it is forbidden for a man to see her or touch her, in order that he does not dishonor her. She is like an untouched (pure) jewel, which is affected by the least touch.

    2. Have you seen how a rose wilts, withers, and loses it luster and beauty if it is touched too much. Likewise, the woman is not allowed to be touched except by one in a lawful relationship of marriage. And whoever attempts to touch her – unlawfully – will earn a severe punishment or death.

    3. Do you know the punishment for one who violates the marriage trust and cheats on his wife? The penalty is death, since he has fallen short in regards to the jewel which is with him, in addition to transgressing the rights of others.

    4. Have you seen a jewel searching for a person (to possess it)? The same is the case of the women, like a precious jewel, she is the one who is sought out, not the seeker. It is incumbent upon the man to seek her hand. And if she agrees to marry him, then he will present to her a marriage dowry and something from his wealth.

    5. Consider the Ruler or Head of State – if every one were able to speak to him directly and sit in his presence, he wouldn't be held in awe, nor possess the same prestige and status amongst the people that he has. Similarly, the woman is like a noble Queen. It is not the right of every person to speak to her directly or sit in her presence; this is something allowed to the select few.

    6. The Supreme Being has created the male strong of body in order that he may go out and earn his livelihood, even in difficult circumstances. This is so that he may serve the women and children of his family. As for the woman, she has been created gentle, soft and sensitive, so that she may cultivate the future generations. The man goes out and works with the natural elements, while the woman deals with the human being (raising the children).

    7. What do you think would happen if a lion and gazelle were placed together in one place? Is it possible for them to co-exist? Obviously not! Likewise, it is of necessity that the man be separated from the woman, in the interest of the woman. She is beautiful, attractive and weak. Hence, the strong will overcome her and devour her and violate her chastity – even if she were not willing.

    8. The woman who performs work equal to the work of a man is entitled to – and is given – the same salary as the man.

    9. The woman is allowed to work in any occupation, which she is capable of, as long as it is in consonance with the nature of her delicate physique.

    10. The woman – like man - is addressed in the divine revelation with responsibilities for which she - like man - is equally rewarded.

    11. The woman is excused from certain religious ceremonies and obligations during her post-child birth and menstrual periods, since these conditions are a cause of weakness and hence, she is in need of rest and relaxation.

    12. If a woman dies while giving birth to a child, she is rewarded with the highest station in Paradise.

    13. The person who is killed while defending his mother, wife, daughter or sister will be rewarded with the highest station in Paradise.

    14. It is permissible for a woman to seek a separation from her husband if he has failed to fulfill her marital rights.

    15. Is there anything more valuable to the human being than his life? Indeed, the honor and dignity of women is more valuable, precious and important to the Muslim than his own life.

    16. It is permissible for the woman to remarry – whomever she desires – if he is divorced from her husband or widowed.

    17. If a woman possesses wealth, she is free to use it in any lawful way, without permission of anyone [father, husband or others].

    18. The woman has the right to the inheritance of her relative – at the time of his death – even if he does not desire that she receive it.

    19. It is obligatory upon the man to spend his wealth for the maintenance – housing, food, etc. – of those under his care including his mother, wife or daughter, even if he doesn't desire to do so.

    20. The mother has been given preference over the father – three times over – concerning their right to kindness and benevolence from their children.

    22. Whoever truly desires paradise – Know that paradise lies at the feet of the mother, for the one who pleases her.

    23. Whoever has daughters and treats them well – they will be a cause of him being screened from the hell-fire.

    23. If a man kills a woman intentionally, he no longer deserves to live and will be killed, even if the victim

  • Valuable rocks........................?

Once, a group of people were travelling on rocks at night. A voice came from the sky that whosoever picks up the rocks will regret and whosoever doesn't pick up the rocks will regret. Now, the people were confused. How can this be? Whether you pick up the rocks or not, you will regret! Anyway, some people picked up the rocks and some didn't. In the morning when they reached

their homes, they saw that the rocks turned into diamonds. Now, those people who didn't pick up the rocks started regretting saying "If only we had picked up some rocks."

Those people who did pick some rocks also started regretting saying "Why didn't we pick up more rocks?" Both sides ended up regretting. Dear Muslims, this same incident will take place with us on the Day of Judgement. Those people who spent their time in useless things will start regretting by looking at those who achieved a great position in Paradise by spending their time in the way of Allah. Now, those who did achieve a position in Paradise will start regretting by looking at those who did more than them and are higher in status. "Alas! If we had only done more to please Allah."

  • LOooong but a wonderful story........?

"Assalam alaikum, how's things Dad?" asked Ahmed. "What's news?" he asked again as they sat down at the table together.

Ranya brought the plates through & handed one to each person. They were brightly colored porcelain plates that she'd received as a wedding present. Grandpa reached out his shaky old hands & grasped the plate as best he could, but it slipped from his grip & fell into pieces on the floor.

    "Of all the…" began Ranya.

Grandpa frowned & looked at the mess on the floor. Mashed potatoes, peas & gravy & a nice piece of chicken were splashed over the nice woolen rug that decorated the dining room floor.

"I'm ever so sorry," said Grandpa nervously, as he tried to get up.

"No Dad, don't worry. Accidents happen. I'll get a cloth." Ahmed got up smiling & continued to talk about his day at work, trying to break the tension that he could see forming around his wife's figure. He met Ranya in the kitchen.

"Your father is forever messing up this house Ahmed. I can't stand it."

"You're exaggerating Ranya, things like this don't happen everyday. I'll clean it up."

"What about my plate? Now the set's incomplete."

"I'll get you another one, don't worry," reassured Ahmed.

"Well, he's not getting another one of those plates," she said as she reached into the cupboard & took out a wooden bowl.

"He spent the whole afternoon carving out a boat for Saleem, instead of trying to do something to help around here, so if he likes wood so much, he can eat from this." & she threw it down on the kitchen table.

Ahmed looked at his wife. He saw in her, that day, a side he hadn't seen before & wasn't so sure he liked it. He looked at the wooden bowl & then at his wife and walked out of the kitchen carrying the dustpan & a damp cloth. Ranya served another lot of food onto the wooden bowl & put it in front of Grandpa.

"Yes, yes, I do believe that's better. I'm a bit clumsy sometimes," said the old man, half to himself & half out loud.

Saleem looked at the wooden bowl & started to eat his dinner but tears were forming in his eyes. He wasn't quite sure why he felt like that but he felt really sorry for Grandpa & knew he didn't mean to drop the plate.

The next day Saleem went into the garage & started working on another piece of wood. He was in there all day while Grandpa rested in bed. He wasn't feeling very well. Ahmed had a day off and had just finished weeding the flowerbeds & wanted to return the tools to the garage when he noticed Saleem working away.

"What are you doing son?" asked Ahmed in his kindly voice.

    "I'm making something."

"What is it?" asked Ahmed, coming a little closer.

    "Well, it's something for you."

"Really? I'd like to see it."

"Ok, I've just about finished. You can come and look."

Ahmed approached Saleem's work place & saw a rather large wooden bowl. He'd made it quite well & it was smooth and even.

    "Good work son," commented Ahmed.

"But do you think I need such a thing."

"No, maybe not now. But I thought I'd keep it for you until you get old like Grandpa."

"And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attains old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour." (Sura Al Isra' 17:23)

  • The Price of Imaan.............?

Several years ago an imaam moved to London. He often took the bus from his home to the downtown area. Some weeks after he arrived, he had occasion to ride the same bus. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him twenty pence too much change.

As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, you better give the twenty pence back. It would be wrong to keep it. Then he thought, oh forget it, it's only twenty pence. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company already gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a gift from Almighty Allah and keep quite.

When his stop came, the Imaam paused momentarily at the door, then he handed the twenty pence back to the driver and said " Here, you gave me too much change." The driver with a smile replied " Aren't you the new Imaam in this area? have been thinking lately about going to worship at your mosque. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change."

When the Imaam stepped off the bus, his knees became weak and soft. He had to grab the nearest light pole and held for support, and looked up to the heavens and cried "Oh Allah, I almost sold Islam for twenty pence!"

Remember, we may never see the impact our actions have on people.

Sometimes we are the only knowledge of Quran someone will read, or the only Islam a non-Muslim will see. What we need to provide, Insha Allah is an example for others to see. Be careful and be honest everyday, because you never know who is watching your actions and judging you as a Muslim.

  • Adhan-An Amazing Discovery..................!!!?

Azan : An incredible medium for the proclamation of Tawheed of the Almighty ALLAH ta'ala & Risalat of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the sound of which echoes around the globe. Amazing though it sounds, but fortunately for the Muslims of the world, it is an established fact.

Have a look at a map of the world & you will find Indonesia [a Muslim country] right on the eastern side of the earth's central land mass. Indonesia consists of many numerous islands, the principle ones being Java, Sumatra, Borneo & Celebes, all of which are well known. It is the largest Muslim country in the world with 180 million inhabitants.

As soon as dawn breaks on the eastern island of Celebes, at approximately 5.30 am local time, Fajr Azan begins.Thousands of Mu'azzins in eastern Indonesia commence proclaiming the Tawheed [Oneness] of the Almighty, Omnipotent and Omniscient ALLAH ta'ala and Risalat [Universal Apostleship] of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The process then continues & advances towards the western islands of Indonesia. The time difference between the eastern & western islands of Indonesia in one & a half hrs. Hence, one & a half hrs after the echoes has been completed in Celebes, it echoes in Jakarta & Java island. Sumatra then follows suit & before this auspicious process of calling Azan ends in Indonesia, it has already begun in Malaysia. Burma is then next in line, & within an hr of its commencement in Jakarta, it reaches Dacca, the capital of Bangladesh. No sooner the calling of Azan ends in Bangladesh, it has already prevailed in western India, from Calcutta to Luknow. It then advances towards to Bombay & the environment of entire India resounds with this glorious proclamation.

Srinagar & Sialkot [a city in north Pakistan] have the same timing for Azan. The difference between Sialkot, Kota, Karachi & Gowadar [a city in Baluchistan, a province of Pakistan] is forty minutes, & within this time, Fajr Azan is heard throughout Pakistan. Before it ends in Pakistan, it has already begun in Afghanistan and Muscat. The time difference between Muscat & Baghdad is one hour. Azan resounds during this one hour in the environments of Hijaz-e-Muquaddas, Yemen, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait & Iraq.

The time difference between Baghdad & Alexandra in Egypt is again one hour. Azan continues to resound in Syria, Jordan Saudi Arabia, Somalia & Sudan during this hour. Alexandria & Istanbul [the principal city of Turkey] are situated on the same geographical longitude. The time difference between eastern & western Turkey in one & half hours, & during this time it is echoed with the call to prayer. Alexandra & Tripoli [the capital of Libya] are located at an hour's difference from one another. It continues into Algiers, Tunis, Rabat & Marrakech. The process of calling Azan thus continues throughout the whole of Africa.

There4 the proclamation of the Oneness of ALLAH ta'ala and the Apostleship of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) that had begun in the eastern islands of Indonesia reaches the eastern shores of the Atlantic ocean after 9 hrs. Prior to the Azan reaching the shores of the Atlantic, the process of Zuhr Azan has already commenced in eastern Indonesia, & before it reaches Dacca, Asr Azan has started. This has hardly reached Jakarta, one & a half hrs later, then the time for Maghrib becomes due & no sooner has Mahgrib time reached Sumatra, then the time for Isha Azan has commenced in Celebes! When the Mu'azzins of Indonesia are calling out Fajr Azan, the Mu'azzins in Africa are calling out the Azan for Isha.

If we ponder over this phenomenon seriously, we can only conclude the amazing fact that thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of Mu'azzins around the world are always proclaiming the Oneness of Almighty ALLAH ta'ala and the Apostleship of the noble Prophet (SAW) Insha'ALLAH ta'ala, this universal & continuos calling of the Azan shall continue until the Day of Judgement. Ameen.

All praise be to ALLAH ta'ala. Taken from Riyadh ul Jannah [translated by Hafiz Ghulam Muhammad Bora].
