College: UCLA or RPI?
I'm stuck between UCLA and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for undergrad studies. My response is due in a few weeks and I'm still split! I've visited UCLA and am visiting RPI in a few days so hopefully I'll have a decisive answer by then.
About me: What I look for in a college (in the perspective of a small-town girl from Cali) is adventure, living in a totally different environment just to try it. I'm majoring in a science, possibly earth science but this is subject to change. I am passionate about the violin and piano so amateur music opportunities are very important to me. I also want to experience life in a creative, energetic city.
UCLA: competitive/vigorous academics; higher ranking; vibrant city with talented underground music and cinema; close to friends and family; well known; cheaper
RPI: more specific to my major and more job-oriented; mystery and Adventure of New York; more attention; music MINOR; musical opportunities that UCLA only offers to music majors or Pros.
which one?
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)1 decade agoWhat are some beautiful modern-sounding, advanced piano pieces?
I'm going to learn some new piano songs over the summer, so I'm looking for something challenging. It's also great to be exposed to more music.
A video accompaniment, title, and/or artist would be great. Post any kind of music, as long as it's not super classical, like Bach (of those, I have many). If you're not sure about it, post it! thanks! =]

Oh, and I'm also wondering how you can find out what level songs are.
*I've learned:
Maple Leaf Rag, Fantasie Impromptu, Rachmaninoff with the large chords, Mozart's Fantasy in D minor, Chopin's Nocturne in E flat, Debussy's La Plus Que Lente (very good) and Golliwog's Cakewalk, Hadyn's Sonata in D major, and two Bach inventions.
all answers or just comments are very appreciated. thanks!
