  • WHAT TO DO WITH SUCH TYPE OF PERSON?

CHENNAI: Police are on the lookout for a man who allegedly kidnapped and killed a two-year-old boy after he failed to get his “usual amount of money” from the child's parents.

Police said Juknu (35) of Rajasthan was living in Chennai and used to frequent his relative Anand (34). He would manage to get some small amounts for his expenses since he was not settled in any particular job.

Last night, he visited Anand's house to get some money but Anand's wife, Shaila, refused, saying her husband was not in town. He then told Shaila he was taking her son to a shop, as he used to do regularly. Shaila was unsuspecting as Juknu did not react on being refused money, police said.

However, after he did not return for a long time, Shaila called up Juknu, asking him to come back home with the child.

Meanwhile, he called up another of his relatives, Shantha, and told her he had kidnapped the child. She informed the parents, who lodged a complaint with the police.

However,it was at around 9 pm that Juknu called Shantha, threatening to kill the baby, and at 10 in the night he called again, saying he had killed Monik and left the body near Ambattur Railway Station, police said.

Police found the body of the infant, with his head and legs smashed, near the Tirumullaivayal Railway Station.Police later sent the body for post-mortem. Four special teams have been formed to nab the alleged killer.
