  • New puppy has an array of parasites? Any advice for dealing with recovery?

My sister and I adopted a new puppy last Friday. The pound we got her from (a non-profit) told us that she was healthy. On Saturday, we discovered she had roundworms. She got spayed on Monday at the pound's vet and they also gave her a de-worming pill. Today she went to a different vet because her eyes have been a little red and a lot of watery discharge has been coming out of one of them. The vet saw she had a broken tooth (puppy tooth) and tested her poop and found she had: giardia, hookworms, whipworms, and roundworms.

She was given medicine to treat it and then the vet wants to see her again in three weeks for more medicine.

So my questions are, is it common for dogs to have that many issues when you adopt them from the pound? The puppy just tried to get sick in the house a few minutes ago, so I brought her outside but then she wasn't sick. Is the medicine going to make her sick? I thought she was just supposed to poop from the medicine? I read online that humans can get all of these things from dogs. Is it easy for this to happen or do you have to be really unsanitary for that to happen? Please share any of your stories if your pups have had any of these things and how they recovered. Thank you.

  • My dog won't go back inside its pokeball?

She won't go back in it. I'm using a regular pokeball, which I think might be the problem. Do I need to use a masterball instead?

  • if you have the time, please give some advice about a career plan. thank you.?

hello, so i think i might have chosen the wrong major (accounting) because this isn't what i really want to do in life. i was previously majoring in english but i didn't like the program my college offered. i already have like all the general classes i need to graduate (which are like 29023028), and i'm trying to graduate in three years so it's too late to change my major again without staying in school for longer.

    other info:

*i hate school so much i can't even describe it. unfortunately, the only thing i'm really good at is school... i have a 3.96 gpa (got a b+ in a poetry course)

*i haven't taken very many accounting classes yet

*i don't like most of the teacher that teach business classes at my college

*what i really want to do is write children's books. i know this isn't really a career and i wouldn't be able to live off the money i make (if any) from doing this, so this is why i am majoring in accounting--to get a 'real job'

*when i think of what i'm doing in the future, i see myself as a teacher. this probably isn't something i will end up doing, but this is another area of things i like to do.

    *i also really like drawing

so the question is, do you think i should continue to major in accounting and eventually write children's books and quit from accounting, or what? thanks sooo much for your time everyone

  • i have ocd, and i'm afraid my roommate will be extremely bothered/annoyed by it?

also, i know that sometimes people are really mean about it and purposely do stuff to annoy their roommate, but i really want us to be friends. i've been going to therapy for like a year and a half, so it's not as bad as it used to be. however, my sister is always annoyed by me and tells me that everyone at college will think im weird if i dont stop. i'm also scared that it might get worse. i think i should tell my roommate about it, but when should i do that? the first day? we've only talked a little online, weve never met in person yet. also, what should i do if i have a panic attack? what should i do if my roommate is sick and i dont feel like i can handle the situation? i also dont know if it would be appropriate to tell her not to touch my things or my clothes and not to let anyone sit on my bed? if anyone has any advice, it will be greatly appreciated. thanks soooooo much.
