  • How to get antique china doll head fixed or replaced?

The doll's head broke during my last move; the rest and the clothes are in good shape. I'd like to get it fixed, as it belonged to a great-aunt. I have a name and number molded into the bottom of the head. Does anyone know where I can go to see about fixing or replacing?

  • Question about new type of ads on my computer?

In the past couple of months, a type of ad new to me (and extremely annoying!- I would never, ever buy or use anything advertised this way- has been appearing. Suddenly, a voice over will start and seconds later a window will appear, usually advertising work at home or on-line education. Whatever I am typing is halted by these ads. Does this mean my pop-up blocker is not working properly? Is this some other type of ad? How can I get rid of them? I feel so angry whenever this happens and I want them to stop.

  • How can I flatten a long photograph that has been stored rolled up?

It's a picture about 18" long of my father's senior class trip in 1936. It has been rolled up for years and the roll is quite tight. I'd like to flatten it out, so I can make copies for my brothers, but I don't want to ruin the finish of the photo, which is otherwise in good shape. It is not a shiny finish, but the kind of studio picture finish from that era, on thick paper. Thank you for any help

  • What shampoo and conditioner are good for dry and frizzy hair?

My hair was always oily when I was younger, but now that I am old, it has gotten so dry it feels almost crunchy like straw. I tried Dove moisturizing shampoo and conditioner with little result. Do those hotoil treatments help? Any recommendations gratefully appreciated.

  • Why for the last week have I only seen questions that were four to six hours old?

Every time I enter Y!A, the questions, whether in all categories or in Psychology, which is where I usually answer, the questions were posted four to six hours ago, and most of them have been answered. Twice the site shifted to more current questions after I had been on about twenty minutes, but that doesn't always happen. Does anyone know what's going on? What do I do about it?

  • How much above my target heart rate is it safe to go?

I am a 64 year old woman who is obese and in terrible shape. In March, I had a heart stress test and found my heart is in good shape (Yay!) and the doctor told me to start walking. I have been doing that, but I have osteo arthritis in my knees and I find it very painful. Recently, a gym in my area offered a good deal that I can afford, and I started using a recumbent bike, which has a timer and a heart rate monitor, etc. My target heart rate is supposed to be 101, but I routinely go above that on the monitor. My average heart rate goes to about 110. I don't feel overstressed, but I perspire and probably could not hold a lengthy conversation. My breaths stay deep and slow; I'm definitely not panting. Is this OK? Should I be doing more? I usually ride for seven miles (monitor), which takes about 18 minutes with the cool down. I will be starting weight training next week. Thank you for responding.

  • I think a fake "Windows Security" program tried to get installed on my computer. What should I do?

I was on a website when a warning box appeared saying that my computer had many viruses, Trojan Horses, malware, etc. and should be scanned immediately (I have McAfee installed and it updates automatically), but since this looked like a Windows box, I said OK. A run or Save box appeared, and when I selected Run, a Windows box appeared, saying the software had no identifying signature. I decided not to run it, bit the software would not go away when I clicked the X. I finally shut down my computer to get rid of it. Could it have installed itself while I was trying to close it? Was it from Microsoft (the last graphic on the question box did not look like Microsoft)? What should I do?
