I just bought the Asus x53SV-rh71. I wanted to upgrade it to have 8 GB of ram. How would I do this? Can anyone explain what kind of Ram to buy for this labtop? Also I wanted to upgrade the webcam on this labtop because it is bad, is it possible??? Any input would be great, thank you for your help!!

Hi, I have to program using Fortran 90/95 simultaneous linear equations. My question is, is it possible to program this? First I did the inverse matrix to find the values of the solution of a 4X4 and 3X3 matrix. I set up [A][X] = [X]' and did the inverse matrix to find the values for [X]. So I got the solutions for x1 x2 x3 x4, ( numbers are subscripts ).

Now that I know that solutions exist, can I program this with the Gauss Seidel iteration method using F 90/95? May you please explain how to set up a tolerance (say 0.000001) between two iterations because I don't understand how to since I have so many variables, or what I'm looking for? I am not asking for the specific code, just a few words to clear up how to approach this program. Thanks for your help.

OK, I have 3 linear equations

1) 6x1 + 0 + x3 = 9

2) x1 - 5x2 + 0 = -9

3) 0 + 2x2 + 9x3 = 31

How are you suppose to check if these lines are parallel and perpendicular because I have to solve them for the points which they interest or something like that. also Is this a 3d line? x1=x, x2=y, and x3=z? Would anyone give me a clue on how to start this and what method or way to use? Thank you so much!

I am writing a computer program using the Gauss-Seidel method and I have to find the x values for 4 linear equations. How do I find out if it even has any values?

My concern is when I am trying to find coefficients for a quadratic equations, A,B,C, how would I write the piece of program if say I input a letter instead of a number so that it can take me back to input the coefficients again? Since A, B,C are real and if I input a character or something else I don't know how to say " this is an error please input coefficients again" . any one understand me ?

Is the same method used to find a 3X3 and 4X4? You just have to do it many more times, correct?

I'm hoping to transfer and study my 3rd year in chemical engineering in the fall, I would just like to know more information about the job and what you do as an CHEME. What are the hours and yearly salary, what do you specifically do and is it much work. Also was the PE exam difficult? Do you enjoy your job or would you now consider studying something different?
