I try to be fair to all that have legitimate questions or otherwise acceptable posts. I favor members that are actual senior citizens because that is supposed to be who this category is for. My email is open to most, friend or foe except those that come into this category to create trouble. Then I don't want to have anything to do with you and will welcome your blocking me.
My fellow Senior Citizens, do you have any tips for remembering passwords?
I have 30 sites that require passwords in order to protect sensitive information. I admit I can only remember a half dozen at most and the rest I have written down. What do you do to help you remember your passwords.
29 AnswersSenior Citizens7 years agoSenior Citizens, did you know that Millions of dollars of SS monies have been paid to WW2 Nazis?
We get a 1.7% increase in our benefits for 2015 but accused Nazis that left the country to escape prosecution continue to receive benefits averaging more than most of us receive. And it's legal, they paid into the system while working here in this country.
17 AnswersSenior Citizens7 years agoSenior Citizens, why does it appear that so few of you are interested in current events?
I ask this in the SC's category because so many of us have seen or participated in war related events. The war on terrorism can affect us here at home as seen today by the beheading of a midwestern woman by a man trying to recruit followers to the muslum religion. There was also an attack by a man on a flight control center in Chicago resulting on the cancellation of 100's of flights. Details on both events are sketchy at this moment but it's something to think about.
2 AnswersCurrent Events7 years agoWhy do my questions fail to show up?
I also have the same problem with trying to answer messages from other users. Sorry Peggy, I tried
3 AnswersYahoo Answers7 years agoWhy do some relate being a Senior Citizen to being elderly?
I certainly qualify to be called a SC, I'm in my 80's, but I don't feel elderly. The questions asked are usually good questions, I have no objections there, but the answers are hardly ever from the actually elderly so what's the point?
10 AnswersSenior Citizens7 years agoIs anyone else having problems with Y/A Senior Citizens?
I can't answer questions or do any rating. Is it time to jump ship and head for Canada or Australia?
14 AnswersSenior Citizens7 years agoWould this be good advice considering?
the alleged abuse of "report abuse" in SC's and throughout Y/A?
Discretion is the better part of valour. (British & Australian literary) also Discretion is the better part of valor. (American & Australian literary)
something that you say which means that it is better to be careful and think before you act than it is to be brave and take risks.
It's not alleged abuse to me although there are those that think so. Yahoo, up to this point, has decided to overlook the problems caused by some that would appoint themselves as moderators. Indeed, Yahoo encourages them. It's part of the Community Guidelines. I think the only way I can be careful is to stop posting in the Senior Citizens category until Yahoo decides to put seniors back into it. So far, we are systematically being targeted and many that posted here regularly over the years have left, not to be heard from again. I'm old and I'm tired, I need a rest.
10 AnswersSenior Citizens8 years agoHow unfair can Yahoo get?
Sorry, Unable to open appeal page.
Please check the URL and try again.
Yahoo Answers Home Community Guidelines.
I'm trying to appeal the four violation notices I received Sunday afternoon, all within 4 minutes, and the above is what I get. Most all of us know how unfair the "Report Abuse" system is and now we can't even appeal. I'm convinced that Yahoo wants to take the "senior" out of the Senior Citizens category. If that's the case, it's their game, just do it.
13 AnswersSenior Citizens8 years agoHow can Yahoo expect to be considered a force in Social Networking?
When they encourage the practice of cyber bullying by allowing one or two "trusted members" to decide what is a violation of Community Guidelines. A question might receive 6 or 8 or more legitimate answers but that one dissenting voice trumps all others. I received four violation notices in a period of four minutes based on old questions I'd asked from a week or two ago. If that's not cyber bullying, then it's at least stalking.
13 AnswersSenior Citizens8 years agoIs it possible the reason for so few questions showing in SC's is due to the activity of abuse reporters?
Are these abuse reporters sanctioned or self appointed? I wonder what your IQ level has to be to get an official appointment? Or is it a "no brainer" sort of thing?
13 AnswersSenior Citizens8 years agoOlder Senior Citizens w/ear problems. Do any of you have trouble?
....with your ears feeling plugged up, like swimmers ear? What do you do about it? I use Debrox & warm water to clean the wax out of them and that used to work but not anymore. Any suggestions? Maybe a home remedy? I asked here because it's probably age related. This is a legitimate question, lets see if it gets reported.
16 AnswersSenior Citizens8 years agoI wonder why this new format won't let me reply to messages?
With the old system I would simply click on "Reply to message" and the Y/A email form would appear. I could then type my reply and click on send. Now I get a list of my activities. No wonder so many folks are using the Canadian version. I hope those that have sent me messages don't feel that I'm ignoring them. I'd like to reply but this "new improved" version of Answers has me hog tied and confused. Sorry 'S'.
12 AnswersSenior Citizens8 years agoIf you answer a question and get a red block saying your post has failed?
Does that mean you have been blocked by the asker. I wish these people that block others from answering their questions would just email me and say so, so I don't waste time with an answer. At least give me the courtesy of letting me know. I don't block. I did at one time and found it to be counter-productive. But I'm just an old geezer, what do I know.
6 AnswersSenior Citizens8 years agoIs what he's telling his wife only half true?
In The House
A state legislator is awakened in the middle of the night by his wife.
She whispers, "I think there's a thief in the house."
"Not in the House, my dear," her husband says. "Perhaps in the Senate, but not in the House."
9 AnswersSenior Citizens8 years agoHow do you check out your points in this new format?
The old format showed my points every time I logged onto Y/A. I'd like to know when I have enough to cash in on a new scooter. Medicare won't pay for them anymore.
6 AnswersSenior Citizens8 years agoIs it possible that this new format is too puzzling for even the trolls?
I haven't heard from those trusted members of the SC category in over a week. I miss them so much that I'm risking a 10 point violation notice just to find out.
18 AnswersSenior Citizens8 years agoIs the new Answers format causing fewer people to ask questions in the SC's category?
My list of questions shows just 5 over the past 18 hours. Is it time to turn off the lights and close the doors? Or maybe I should open the door to all languages and try to understand them which is something we sometimes have to do even with English.
2 AnswersSenior Citizens8 years agoHave you been plagued with the new virus yet?
It only seems to effect Yahoo and I'm not sure it's not a part of Yahoos effort to load their website with more ads. It will appear as a popup at the bottom of your screen and will say "Do you want to open or save GET-USER-ID.JS from AD.YIELDMANAGER.COM" in lower case. You can click on "open", "save" or "cancel". Cancel doesn't work and I'm not about to click on open or save. My virus protection isn't effective on it and it just seems to be showing up on the Yahoo site which makes me wonder if they aren't the cause. I Googled it and followed instructions but I can't get rid of it. I notice that other users in other categories are also asking about it.
