    In the Disney's animation movie "Leroy & Stitch" there is a scene, where Dr.Hamsterville is naming his new creature. He unsuccessfully tries several names just to find all of them already taken by other experiments. Then he proclaims: "His name will be ... Leroy!" Dr Jumba and Cpt Gantoo began to laugh upon that name. Why? I didn't find "leroy" in a dictionary, but it defenitely means something... What does it mean? What is so funny in it?

  • How to pronounce the letter "L" in "Eielson AFB"?

    There is a place in Alaska (somewhere near Fairbanks) called "Eielson AFB". I was interested to know how to pronounce its name and got answered "EYE-ull-sun". However, it is still not clear for me, how to pronounce that "L" in the word: should it be soft and thin like in "link" or more hard like in "lamb"?
