I've been training dogs for the past 3 years, and owning them over 20 years. They are absolutly my world. I have rescued and rehabilitated more dogs than i can count on two hands, and believe that ignorance is not an excuse when you own a pet. If my answer to your question helps you, then GREAT! If it offends you, then suck it up. I won't sugar coat the truth just to make you happy. Have a great day! :)

  • Sound covered under iPhone warranty?

I'm beyond frustrated. I bought a brand new iPhone not even a year ago and suddenly two days ago all the sound on my phone stopped working. It won't ring, make text notifications, play music or sound my alarm. I've tried rebooting it, plugging in headphones, everything I can think of and it won't work! I can still make and receive calls, though. I called apple support and the girl spent basically the whole conversation trying to sell me a two year warranty! The phone is supposed to come with a one year warranty, which I'm still under, why won't she just have my phone fixed?! I have the original reciept which blatantly says "ONE YEAR MANUFACTURER WARRANTY". What's the problem? I would sure think that the sound would fall under the warranty since it's a technical issue and did not relate to me dropping or breaking it.. I'm not great with technology so maybe I'm just missing something, but I could really use some help.

  • How do I tell my boss I'm leaving?

I love my current job. My coworkers are great, my boss is great, and I love my customers. Unfortunately, the company simply didn't have the hours available to provide me full time hours or benefits and it's just not paying the bills. I've gotten a new job and now I've got to tell my boss that I'm leaving. Problem is, I work in a pharmacy and she doesn't have an office. I will not have any chance to get her alone. So, how do I tell her & my coworkers I'm leaving? I feel that putting in my two weeks should be done privately but I don't have that option... Any advice would be great. Thanks!

  • Dog:victim of a tornado. Will you help?

I'm posting this here knowing that you all love animals. Hanah is a Joplin tornado survivor. As the storm bore down of the home of Kari Wilkes she took shelter in a closet with her dogs Bear and Hanah. The tornado approached and ripped the roof off their home and literally sucked hanah out of her owners arms. The house was completely destroyed... As soon as it was safe Kari began looking for hanah, but with no luck. Two days later a neighbor took a photo of Hanah in the rubble and sent it to Kari. Hanah had made it! The neighbor called the humane society but they arrived too late, hanah had run when sirens came on again. She was spotted once again, one woman even saying she'd fed hanah for three days before she disappeared again. Hanahs owners gave tried everything. Setting out food, their cloths hoping she would come to their scent, stayed over night in tents, set up night vision cameras, had a BBQ hoping to draw her out of hiding, hired a pet detective, had many 'animal communicator' readings, distributed thousands upon thousands of flyers and yet hansh is still missing. It's been two months and her family is not giving up, it breaks their heart knowing hanah is alive but they can't get to her. All I ask is that you visit her Facebook page and take a look st her photos, share her story and keep your eyes out for her, especially if you live near Missouri. Hanah could be ANYWHERE in the US now. Hundreds of rescuse came in to assist after the tornado, and unfortunately there is no real record of them. Hanah is a solid white American bulldog, she's got one blue eye and one hazel eye. She is 5 years old and spayed with severe hip dysplaysia. There is a HUGE reward for her, or any tip that leads to her return. You may remain completed anonymous! Please visit her Facebook page and share! You might just be the key to reuniting this family who's so torn apart! http://m.facebook.com/BringHanahHome?_rdr

  • Canoeing buffalo river?

My entire family and I planned a vacation to the buffalo river months ago. Now, we are finding out that the buffalo river is very low and only certain areas of the river are even deep enough to canoe down! Which is the whole reason we are going! Right now they say that you can float the middle section of the river with just a few small areas you may need to drag, the lower section is perfectly fine to float, and the upper section is unfloatable. Question is, how do I determine where these "sections" are?! I mean, where is the 'lower' section of the river, what towns are near it? Also, if you've canoes the river, how'd you like it? Thanks so much!

  • cheap, but decent interior paint?

I'm soon to move into my uncles rent home. The interior walls are painted the most horrible sea foam green color (courtesy of my now deceased grandmother) and my uncle is allowing me to repaint. I plan on living in the home approximately 2 or 3 years and don't want to spend a fortune on paint. I plan on going with an assortment of creamy, caramel Colors though out. Please recommend some cheap (reasonably priced) interior paints! Thanks so much!

  • paint the interior one color or multiple?

I'm moving into my uncle's rental home in the next few weeks. The previous tenant (my now deceased grandmother) had lived there many years and wound up painting the place. She painted the livingroom and bathroom this sea foam green color and the kitchen, bedrooms and hallway BRIGHT white. My uncle is obviously letting me paint over this. I want to paint it a neutral color so that when I buy my own home and move out he doesnt have to repaint. The bathroom, I have decided will be a color slightly lighter than hunter green. The livingroom, hallway, and kitchen (which is slightly separated by a doorway) however all flow together and I want to stay with a tan/sandy color in there. Should I paint ALL that space the same color or should I vary the colors a bit? I'm afraid that if I do paint it all one color it will be over kill but if I change to a slightly different color would it look like that paint colors were accidentally unmatched? I'm obviously not very handy and don't do a lot of painting, so any advice would help. Thanks SO much and I hope this isn't totally confusing! :)

  • Any experience with Dog Kennel Decks?

I have a 10x10 kennel for my labrador to stay in while i work. It was great during the winter, but now that summer has arrived it seems as if bugs are beginning to bite him all over his belly while he lays down. I've thought about the horse stall rubber mats, but have been told that sitting on the dirt will keep the dirt cool and result in ants REALLY wanting to get under it, thus causing a bigger problem. Then i found 'kennel decks' which is a plastic deck that raises your dog off the ground, helps with air flow and is easily cleaned. only problem is that they only come in 2x4 planks (which will obviously not fit my kennel perfectly). So im wondering if anyone has had these and knows weather you can detach the planks or it they are made as a set that way, i know you can attach the 2x4's to one another. I can not seem to find any site that specifies that. Thanks so much!

** This is what i'm referring to http://www.kenneldeck.com/store/product.php?produc...

  • Dog haircoat supplements?

My labrador eats Blue Buffalo dog food and get 2000 Mg of fish oil capsules every day and still has a odd coat.I call it 'odd' because he has the natural double coat of a labrador everywhere on his body, except his rib area. Its very short and thin (not balding). I don't believe its an allergy because his skin is fine, not flakey or dry and he does not have fleas nor does he itch. I can not for the life of me figure out what the problem might be, and want to try adding maybe a different skin and coat supplement. Please do not advise me to take him to the vet, this is NOT a life threatening problem, and it doesn't bother him in the least. He's got his 1 year vet visit coming up in about a month and if not cleared up i will ask the vet then. So please, fire away with other supplements that may improve his coat (also include personal experience with the product as i could just look this up on google if i didn't want peoples personal experiences)! Thanks!

For three days i've been posting an add in the 'housing wated' section and for some reason it NEVER post's. I do not understand, I'm following all the rules, and have posted other add's to other sections with no problem in the same day. I follow all steps, and confirm the email, it then tells me my add has been posted but i cant find it! I can though, follow the link through the email and see it, but if i go to the site and search i cant see it and neither can any of my friends. What might be going wrong?? Thanks so much!

  • pregnant rescued dog?

(I am asking this question for my parents who too old school to get off dial up)

Two days ago my father found a heavily pregnant, underweight APBT roaming their fence line and scavenging for food. They brought her to the house and began searching for the owners, but unfortunately we live in the deep south where people discard their dogs like they do trash and we assume she was intentionally dumped, or judging by the scars on her face, chest and legs, she was fought. Either way, no one is claiming her, or claiming to know where she belongs. My parents took the dog to the vet and been told that she will deliver in about a weeks time. She is on a strict 4 meal a day diet of high quality puppy food (Blue), wet food, and a little nutri-cal mixed in. She is a VERY loving dog, but VERY VERY dog aggressive (possibly due to the new environment and being pregnant or due to being fought). We are trying now to find a rescue to put her in but are having a hard time placing her which is understandable considering its hard enough to take in one dog, much less a dog aggressive female and her soon to be puppies. We also will not abandon her at the pound. SO my parents are trying to get prepared for having a littler of pup's. Problem being, ALL of their dogs, and all the dogs we ever had when i was a child were fixed. We have never raised a littler of pups. My parents are financially well off and can easily take on the litter. They have our trusted vet on call in case of emergency but when it comes to the actual birth and immediate time thereafter we are lost.We HAVE researched this, but get very minimal info that's actually of help.We have got bottles on hand, formula on hand and a bulb for sucking the mucus out if need be. I'd LOVE to be able to give them some information on what to expect, how they can help the dam or any advice anyone has.

I am a certified pet trainer and will be working with the mother after birth on her behavioral issues, and will be socializing the pups with my dogs and my parents. Thanks SO much for any help you may offer me and my family! God bless! :)

  • I have a pet crawfish who wont eat his food.?

About 2 years ago when i worked at a pet store we got a tiny little Crawfish in with a bag of comets. He stayed in the tanks about 7 months until he started eating a ton of comets and we didn't know what to do with him. So, i knew i had a spare 15 gallon tank at home with the filter and gravel and brought him home. He's been pretty neat and is now a large guy. The problem is, he has stopped eating his comets! He used to eat about 4 a week. I would buy them all at once and he would periodically eat them. The last 4 i bought though he wont touch! They're not too big for him to eat. I waited about 9 days before i knew i had to feed him something so i gave him some bottom feeder pellets that i have for my plecostomus in separate tank. He ate it up! He has now been living on them for about 3 weeks. I know that this is an odd question, and he is an unusual pet but can he eat this for the rest of his life? (He's about 2 years old ) What else might he like? He seems normal, for a crawfish i mean. The comets are living happily with him forever now i assume. I have researched them but all the info i find just says they are bottom feeders and scavengers and none of the info really focuses on their diet as pets. Thanks a ton! :)

  • Ok Labrador lovers. here's a Doozie!?

I live in the south where hunting is prominent and Labradors are some of the most commonly bred dogs (and often over bred). Though i have some very good friends who breed very nice Labradors. His dogs do wonderfully in field trials and hunting but don't show. They are all registered, have great OFA scores, raised in home, fed great food Sire and Dam are on site, potential family's are screened and if they ever need to give up the dog they take it back and they come with health guarantee's. All around they are good breeders. Anyway all that is sort of beside the point for the most part. About 9 days ago they had a litter of pups, i went to visit them this afternoon and to my complete shock, two of them are SILVER! This has been one of the most debated things in Labradors in past years and i have always been skeptical of it. But now, i see these two little ones, who are CLEARLY not black, and not Chocolate and i don't know what to think! No, there are no Weimeraners around, they don't own one, and when the dogs are not inside or working outside with the trainers they are out in a kennel with a ROOF. My question is, could a new color REALLY just come up now after all this time? I know that they were all one color at first and the other two colors came in line later, but that's been years and years ago. What should they be registered as? Should they contact the AKC?

  • I have a newly discovered heart murmur and im a little confused.?

Yesterday, while getting a physical, my doctor spent a little more time than usual checking my heart, finally he asked "has anyone ever told you that you have a heart murmur?" Well, this was the first i had heard of it, so i told him no and he just sorta went about business and i assumed it must not have been a big issue and i didn't inquire further. BUT then i get home and google 'heart murmur' and everything i have read says that having one as a child is normal and usually harmless, but that in adults its more serious, even saying that it often means you have heart valve disease. I'm 20 and have never had this problem in my life. Now im concerned because he did no further tests, and didn't recommend i see another doctor. Anyone know why he was so nonchalant about this when it all information i have gathered seems to show i should go in for more tests? I'm a little confused as to how he knows just by listening for 30 seconds that my murmur is or is not a normal or abnormal one? Clearly, i should have asked more questions but he didnt seem concerned with it at all..

    Thanks!

  • My mother bought a dog?

My mother had been looking for a dog for months now, and finally i helped her decide on a breed to suit her and my fathers lifestyle. We chose an australian cattle dog. I had been researching breeders from all over, and to my surprise, two days ago my mom went out and bought a pup from what i would consider an 'ok' breeder. Her dogs don't show, don't have titles but are working dogs. She only has 3 dogs and breeds for most her friends to have a working pup. (we live out in farm country) Anyways, the dogs are healthy, beautiful, have had their first set of shots, wormed and micro-chipped BUT in the breeders contract she states that to keep the guarantee in tact, the pup's must be kept on a specific vitamin because she fears that so many dogs do not get fed a nutritionally fit diet. You have to buy the vitamin through her website so she knows your keeping up. When i read this i became concerned because the puppy WILL be on a nutritionally fit diet, a great food and i worry that feeding the food that contains all the vitamins she needs plus MORE vitamins will cause problems. I know my mother meant the best and thought she had picked a good breeder but i don't know how i should try and explain this to the breeder ? Any idea's would be great! Thanks!

  • Swearing a mixed breed dog is registered?

I just read, and answered a question asked by a person who bred a Dachshund and Bulldog and was inquiring on how much the pups were worth. After I and many other people insisted that the puppy's were not really worth any money because they were mixed breed dogs the asker then INSISTED they had papers and 'genes' testing. Really? This absolutely frustrates me to no end! So, my question being to anyone who has a mixed breed dog and believes they are registered, or to anyone who understands this. Please, explain to me HOW your MIXED breed dog is registered. I'm not in any way bashing mutts, i have four of them and i love them just as much as my purebred dog but i know they are mutts.

  • How do you react in this situation?

Yesterday i took Remington, my 15 week old lab puppy to a civil war reenactment just down the street from where i grew up. Dogs were welcome and someone had brought their two approximately 7 month old rottweilers out there too. When we started to walk past the dogs they stood up and looked a little iffy. The owners started saying 'oh no they're sweet! ' as i got closer the dogs lunged at him. I was so angry. I Absolutely despise when people take their aggressive dogs out where a ton of other dogs will be. Which brings me to my question, what do you do when that happens? I just walked away, because the dogs were only on a retractable leash and could have easily broken it. It all could have happened so differently, what if i had just walked by and their owner hadn't locked their leashes and the dogs grabbed him, or some even small dog? It was such a crowed place and could have been so dangerous. Anyway, again my question is, when this happens for example at a dog park, or on a walk what do you do?

  • Any down side to microchips?

Next week i will be taking my labrador puppy to get a check up and micro chipped. Most my dogs got this done at the shelter so i'm just wondering if anyone has ever had a problem with them, or has had any negative experiences with them, out of pure curiosity. Thanks! :)

  • Animal cruelty laws in texas?

Ok, I live in the deep wood of good ole east texas. And behind our house is about 30 acres of woods. About 5 years ago there were a bunch of oil wells back there and thus, a bunch of paved roads in the middle of woods. Its a great place to walk my dogs which is what i was doing tonight when i stumbled upon something awful. There is no gate to close off these roads, and they are really secluded so its easy for some one to go down there and dump trash like washers and dryers, which they do very often. Tonight though, i noticed a buch of wood pallets built up all strangely. So i had to investigate. Much to my horror, it was some terribly rigged pens containing WILD hogs and piglets!! None of them had food or water, they were walking all in their own feces. Nails and trash were all over the place and they were making awful screaming noises. Im in shock at how deplorable the conditions were. Its probably 40 pigs and piglets in a 'pen' about 20 feet by 12 feet. They can hardly move!! Problem is, the land is not ours, and we don't really have any animal control around here. I'm wondering if anyone might know who to call or the laws here in Texas. I'm not even sure if i called the police that they could seize the animals because we have lived here nearly 10 years and have no idea who owns this land! Any help would be great as it's very hot here in Texas (about 90 during the day) and i honestly have no idea if they will make it for another week.
