1 AnswerMathematics2 weeks agoI have solved the following sum but when I am calculating the result the answers seems different although I am sure about the method. ?
The answer is:
(12⋅m⋅(v0)2)−(12⋅m⋅g⋅sin(ϕ)⋅R)−(μ⋅m⋅g⋅cos(ϕ)⋅π)−(2⋅m⋅g⋅sin(ϕ)⋅R)R
Where am I doing wrong exactly?
Q) A body of mass m is attached to one end of a string of length R. The other end of the string is fixed on a inclined surface making an angle ϕ with the surface as shown in the figure. The body has a speed v0 at the bottom of the circle (Point A). The body undergoes circular motion. There is a coefficient of sliding friction μ between the body and the plane. The downward acceleration of gravity is g. what is the tension in the string when it reaches point B?
1 AnswerPhysics2 weeks agoAn object of mass (m=4.0kg) , starting from rest, slides down an inclined plane of length (l=3.0m) . ?
The plane is inclined by an angle of \(\theta=30^\circ\) to the ground. The coefficient of kinetic friction (mu_{k,1}=0.2) . At the bottom of the plane, the mass slides along a rough surface with a coefficient of kinetic friction (mu_{k,2}=0.3) until it comes to rest.
How do I find how far from the bottom of the inclined plane does the object slide along the rough surface? My answer is 250.78m. Is it correct?
1 AnswerPhysics2 weeks agoHi I simulated the comparator circuit below on proteus. Did I do it the right way?
If not can anyone tell me where I am wrong please. Thank you
1 AnswerOther - Science3 weeks agoI have simulated a 4 bit magnitude comparator on proteus and there are two things I would like to know for clarification.?
A) How do I justify my design of the 4 bit magnitude comparator that gives the results A=B, A>B AND A<B ? If I had to explain why the circuit works the way it does?
B) What changes have to made in the design to find the third result from any two of the three results (A = B, A > B, A < B)
For reference I have included the circuit. Thank you

Mathematics3 weeks agoThe third time I am posting this because I am suffering due to this sum. I solved it in a way and different methods have different answers?
I can't seem to understand the correct concept. Will anyone be kind enough to explain it step-wise for me with a solution. I need to ace an upcoming exam. Thank you in advance
Q) A block of mass m = 3 kg starts to slide from rest along a frictionless inclined surface that makes an angle of φ=30 with respect to the horizontal surface. At the lowest points of the inclined surface, a projectile is fired at a speed of v0 = 12 m/s that makes an angle θ=45 with respect to the horizontal. The aim of this problem is to find the time when the projectile will hit the block.
(a) Find the time when the projectile hits the block. (Given, the initial distance between the block and the projectile along the inclined surface at t = 0 is R0 = 10 m)
(b) Find the height h, where the projectile will hit the block.
(c) Now assuming that the projectile hits the block at its maximum range R along the inclined surface, Rmax=?
1 AnswerPhysics3 weeks agoI have solved the sum mentioned below using limits where I have considered (del theta) to be the determiner of the sign?
since t is always positive when calculating average angular velocity. But using my method the mass of the rocket car cancels from both sides of the equation; but in the question the mass is given. What method can I use to solve the sum that incorporates the mass? Including a diagram for reference. Any help will be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!
Q) In an amusement park rocket ride, cars are suspended from 4.25-m cables attached to the rotating arms at a distance of 6.00 m from the axis of rotation. The cables swing out at an angle of 45.0° when the ride is operating. Consider the mass of a rocket car is 75 kg.
a) Find centripetal force on the rocket.
b) What is the angular speed of rotation of the rocket?
c) Find the radial and tangential acceleration of the rocket.

which I don't know if correct. And I did not understand b and c. Will anyone be kind enough to explain and solve it for me. Below is a diagram I used as a reference. Thank you

1 AnswerPhysics4 weeks agoHi I needed some help solving this sum on coefficient of friction. I tried solving it but the quantities cancel out on both sides.?
A light plane of mass 1200 kg makes an emergency landing on a short runway. With its engine off, it lands on the runway at a speed of 35 m/s. A hook on the plane snags a cable attached to a 130 kg sandbag and drags the sandbag along. Now you can consider the system as a combined mass along with the sandbag and the plane.
Now, the coefficient of friction between the sandbag and the runway is µk = 0.4, and also the plane’s brakes give an additional retarding force of magnitude 1400 N. So our target for this problem is to find how far does the plane go before it comes to stop.
Assume, when the plane snags the sandbag, the collision is instantaneous. [Hint: Think carefully whether you can apply conservation of momentum or not]
(a) Find the speed of the plane and sandbag immediately after the collision.
(b) Find the time when the plane along with the sandbag will come to stop. [Hints: Think about whether the system (sandbag and the plane) will accelerate or decelerate.]
(c) Find how far the plane goes before it comes to stop.

Physics4 weeks agoBook1 has a mass of 8.60 kg. Book 2 sits on top of book 1 has a mass of 1.30 kg. ?
They are linked by a rope which passes over a pulley at the top of the incline The plane is at an angle of 38.0° with respect to the horizontal. What is the amount of force with direction to prevent the sliding of the books if the surfaces are frictionless?
1 AnswerPhysics4 weeks agoHi I was facing some trouble solving this question. Can anyone explain the concept and help me solve this?
Box 1, a wooden box, has a mass of 8.60 kg
and a coefficient of kinetic friction with the
inclined plane of 0.35. Box 2, a cardboard box,
sits on top of box 1. It has a mass of 1.30 kg.
The coefficient of kinetic friction between the
two boxes is 0.45. The two boxes are linked by
a rope which passes over a pulley at the top of
the incline. The inclined plane is at an angle of 38.0° with respect to the horizontal.
(a) What is the acceleration of each box?
(b) Now considering all surfaces frictionless. Then calculate the amount of force with direction to prevent the sliding of the boxes.

A 75.0 kg man stands on a platform scale in an elevator. Starting from rest, the elevator ascends, attaining its maximum speed of 1.20 m/s in 1.00 s. It travels with this constant speed for the next 10.00 s. The elevator then undergoes a uniform acceleration in the negative y direction for 1.70 s and comes to rest. What does the scale register:
(a) before the elevator starts to move?
(b) during the first 1.00 s?
(c) while the elevator is traveling at constant speed?
(d) during the time it is slowing down? Take g = 10 ms-2

The outputs to the system will be as follows:
A=1, Alarm will be turned on if
i. The gate is not closed and the elevator is moving
ii. The elevator is moving but not in demand or loaded
iii. The gate is not closed and the elevator is loaded and moving
iv. The elevator is not loaded, not moving, and in demand
