  • 1978 Mercruiser 260

I've got a 1978 searay with a 350 mercruiser had it running last summer. The ( towards the bow ) forward right cylinder had a funky mixture of water and gas that came out when the sparkplug was removed. What exactly would cause this being it only in that one cylinder. I suspect the water came back through the manifolds. Theres no water in the oil and it runs great. It has a pre alpha outdrive. Don't give any rediculous answers, I dont have no million dollars to replace everything.

  • Mercruiser 260 searay 1978

A friend of mine has a 1978 searay with a 5.7 liter 350ci mercruiser 260 that hes tryin to get started. He doesnt have a battery so I used jumper cables with a battery I have to the cables that would connect to the battery ( I didnt have the right terminals on the battery ). I turned the key and all you hear is a click as if the starter is engaging but underpowered to turn the engine over. Allegidly he had it running last summer great. I could use any help to get it started.

  • heavy people and water skiing?

I bought a boat not too long ago and have been using it for water skiing and toweing wakeboards. I onced skiied when I was 12 but now im 18 and weigh 270 lbs ( no, im not fat...football ). Ive taught a friend of mine to pull the boat correctly and have tried to get up and I get close but then the pressure on the rope is overcomming and I have to bail. Is there any special technique I could use to compensate for the weight ?

  • Overheating mercruiser 120?

I recently bought a 1983 boat with a mercruiser 120 and an alpha one outdrive. I just installed a new impeller. When I put the garden hose on the muffs and hooked it to the motor after about 10 minutes the engine reaches a temp of about 220 and steam begins to come out the exhaust. I checked the impeller by unhooking the incomming hose from the outdrive on the thermostat housing and cranked it and it pumped water. The engine runs perfectly fine and doesnt run rough, starts right up but get gets hot. Is this normal because im using a garden hose and the low rpms arent getting enough water to the engine or what? I havent had a chance to see if it stays cool at higher rpms yet but it has me worrying. Any suggestions ?

  • Ford expedition center floor console?

Im about to buy a 2001 ford expedition eddie bauer. Its more customized for offroad use. It has the wide center console with the rear air controls, retracting rear cupholders, and radio controls. My problem with is is that its the kind that goes over the center hump from the dash to the rear. My idea of a truck is with the center hump exposed as to make it easier to switch seats. Is there a center hump available out there that has all the controls but stops at the front cupholders ? Or is there a way of fabricating it, thanks
