  • Geico home insurance problem?

Geico emailed me on November 6th, telling me that their inspector took pictures of my roof and noted discoloration. They are telling my I need to repair the entire roof otherwise the insurance will be cancelled on November 15th. The contract says they must give me 10 days notice of cancellation. Also, my inspector noted nothing about the roof. How can I resolve this issue without replacing my whole roof?

  • Apartment complex says my check is being "returned." What now?

My apartment complex sent me a notice stating "your rental payment has been returned." Now they want to charge me two late fees. I had/have plenty of money at that time in my account. I don't think my bank has seen any attempt for them to cash the check.

Does anyone know of any N.C. laws regarding this? Or have ANY experience in this at all?

  • Anniversary Gift Ideas for In-laws?

I need some gift ideas for the in-laws. Here are some words to describe them. They are southern-country Christians. All about making homemade food and building your own stuff. Very into coastal living also. Tractors, dogs, and close-knot family.

    Got any ideas?

  • How would these criminal actions be defined as and handled legally?

Person A was sitting in a locked car. Person B approached the car with a device to unlock the car (similar to a slimjim). Person B began to assault and threaten Person A, then eventually forced the door to unlock, in which Person B physically hit Person A. Person A responded with self defense in which they were able to control and stop Person B's movement.

Is this burglary with intent to commit assault and battery by Person B?

Person B was not arrested at the time, but Person A pressed charges. There are talks by Person B to settle the dispute through mediation.

What could the outcome of this be?

  • Plans for moving to Hawaii? Hawaii residents opinions please.?

I have lived on a beach for 23 years. I can work security, restaurants, and simple labor jobs.

I do not care about expenses because I don't spend much on food anyway.

Where would be a good place to move for good scenery, yet not an overpopulated place in Hawaii.

I could probably afford around 600/month on rent.

  • Car stutters/vibrates when accelerating?

My Sonata started stuttering/vibrating when I accelerate. I had it fixed. After about a month, I just got gas and it started the problem again. Could this be a problem with the injector? Or something to do with the gas?

  • All hours cut from work?

In NJ, a part-time employees' hours have been cut to 0 hours/week. Yes zero hours. Some assumptions of why it happened is 1)employer has a reputation to hire too many people and is trying to get some to quit 2)they cut their hours because the employer is paying them more than the rest of the employees, so this will keep the payroll lower. Can the employee do anything to defend themselves?
