I have 5 lbs of sweet potatoes I need to soften up for a casserole of course. The recipe I have says to cook them in the microwave, but that took forever last time. How long should I give these things to cook. And at 350 or 400?

I am making apple butter and thought I grabbed allspice at the store. I have already put in the cloves and cinnamon. Can I use apple pie spice, pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg or ginger in the place of it?

I was denied benefits only because the night I went into labor, I texted my employer that I was having the baby(so, obviuosly I was calling in). Anyway, she texted me back and said good luck. She then sent me an email right after and again telling me that she hoped everything goes well with the baby. The STUPID!!!! ESC said that texting instead of calling in was not a valid form of communication between an employer and an employee. Even though this was the main form of communication between me and the B*****.

So, a little bit of background if you feel like reading it. I worked for her for 8 years, never once did she have a problem with anything I ever did. All of a sudden over a period of 3 months, she decided she was sick of me or something and did everything she could to push me out of there. Well, she fired me 2 weeks after I had my baby for so many made up reasons, and I am being truly honest about that. Well, the unemployment rejects did not deny me for any of the reasons that she gave, but only because I called in by text and not by phone call because we cannot prove that she is the one that received the text. Is there anything I can do? Is the email that she sent me right after our texts back and forth, is that enough proof that she received the text?

Please help me, I did not deserve what she did to me and she can't get away with it. Help me

I was 2.5 4 days ago and was 3 when i went into labor with my first. I'm just curious is there an average dilation when you'll go into labor or no?

I am 36 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I was 2.5 cm 4 days ago and have been having tons of contractions. The doctor told me 2 days ago when i thought i was going into labor that until i am 37 weeks, they are not allowed to break my water or induce labor in any way. So, i wonder if I'm just a few days away from my 37 week mark, will they still NOT help? What could a couple days hurt? My son was born at 37 weeks and was perfectly fine, so they definately think it will happen within a week, but I'm so miserable now. Do squats really help to induce. He is in the correct postition and very low (they can't even believe how low he is). Anyway, can anyone answer any of these questions for me? thank you

I used a regular package of white cake mix and made cupcakes with it. In the middle of mixing, i realized I didnt have the vegetable oil needed for it, so I put in Vegetable shortening, thinking it would do the same thing. Well, when i take them out of the cupcake holders, they crumble and fall apart on the bottoms. They are very moist, so they're not falling apart from dryness. Did the shortening do that?

I am making a 50th birthday coffin cake and would like it to be black, but everything i read says that to get black, it tastes bitter. Does grey icing taste as nasty? Also, can i buy something to airbrush black on there or anything? I havent looked yet, so I'm not sure if they even sell something like that in the stores. thank you for some ideas

he is acting fine, eating and drinking good. he just has diarrhea that won't stop. the pharmacist told me to give him pepto bismol, but that hasnt helped at all.

they are not colored, they range from a dime size to 3 inches in size. they all popped up over the past 2 weeks. the first ones that popped up have flattened on the top and ulcered. does anybody know what this is? i know i'm going to get a lot of people bashing me, i know, but i dont have the money to take him to the vet and we are trying to find homes for our dogs so they can get the attention they need. please help me.

He is almost 4. The smallest things set him off. If he doesn't get his way with just about anything, he starts the screaming and whining. We immediately tell him that if he doesn't stop, he wasn't going to get to play with his toys for the day. It doesnt stop him. We eventually end up taking away his tv and computer games also. We've always stuck with what we say, we try to talk calmly, but of course we lose our temper after a while. Please help me with any advice on what to do when he gets like this. And when he does this in public, what is the best way to handle it? thank you
