Before I delve deeper into the situation, I figured i'd better get some answers first.

First off: I do realize my up/down speeds aren't ideal for a server, however this is a small-time server being hosted for an online gaming community of roughly 200 people, of which less than 10% will be regularly using it. 6016 Kbps (downstream) 768 Kbps (upstream)

I have a dual drive configuration in mind (I currently have one Seagate Barracuda (7200RPM) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8... in my system, with the second somewhere in the shipping network)

After doing some digging, an Ubuntu server seemed to be my best option.

so, to my questions: (keep in mind i'm new to the server-management world)

My system:

Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 MoBo

AMD FX8150 Processor

4x4GB (16 GB) 2133MHz RAM (G.Skill)

OCZ Agility 3 120GB SSD (Windows 7 + core applications installed on it)

1x WD Caviar Black 2TB Mechanical drive (non core applications [Games, music, pictures ETC] and SSD backup)

2x Seagate Barracuda 1TB mechanical drives (one arrived, one in-transit) indended for various uses

1. WIll I need to dual boot to have windows and the server up at the same time? Would that even be possible?

2. Is it possible to set up a RAID system with an ubuntu server?

3.Would there be any advantage to Ubuntu's Cloud service over their normal server? (i'm still not completely sure what cloud storage is, as I've never used and/or looked into it)

My family is considering switching our Internet provider.

We're severely overpaying for what AT&T is offering (we currently pay $40/month for 5mbps down, and ~0.6 (on a good day) up) Time Warner (highly recommended by several friends/family) offers twice the download, and a little less than four times the upload speed for $10 less (introductory) and the same price, after the first year.

We plan to use Yahoo mail if/when we switch. The problem stems from having to notify and change all e-mail adresses for accounts we have on external sites (She has a problem of being slightly technology inept)

So my question(s):

Would we be able to keep our current Yahoo accounts (@sbcglobal.net - we've been with them since it was still SBC Global)? If not would there be a way to permanently forward incoming messages to that account to our new ones (@yahoo.com)

Alright. I've been a loyal Xbox 360 customer for four years now. I've owned three Xbox 360's

"Pro" - 20 GB

"Elite" - 120 GB system

and now

a "Slim" - 250 GB system.

all three have needed a repair sometime in their life. between these three systems I have sent a console in for repair 8 times.

Pro - twice - once out of warranty ($99) failed a third time, so I traded it in.

Elite - three times - once out of warranty ($99) failed a fourth time, so I traded it in.

Slim - three times - all under warranty.

My problem now is my Warranty ended 16 days ago for the slim, and lo-and-behold, it has a disc drive failure. meaning that this console will need a fourth repair. I'm gettin' a bit pissed off that I've spent enough money on "repairs", to buy a fourth console. so before I send this one in (if I do) I want to know of any of you know what their "Certified Service Center" tech's actually check.

Is it just the problem you send your console in for?

Do they run a complete diagnostic on the system?

Last time I sent my console in was less than three months ago, "supposedly" they tack on an additional 90 day warranty if your console has less than that remaining. But of course, Microsoft "conveniently" has no record of my last repair, and so they refuse to cover my system under warranty. Even after offering physical evidence in the form of a shipping label, AND a tracking number they still deny that they ever serviced my console. Before I rant anymore, I'm going to ask again

Does anyone *KNOW* what they check for when they repair a system?

The back-story:

I've dabbled in website development before... I have the bare-bones basics knowledge (the wire-frame) of a website (I.E. what you learn in HTML 101)

I can create an Index from scratch, I have *some* knowledge in Dreamweaver (cs3), I know how to work with .psd templates ETC - what I'm looking for here is somewhere I can go, a forum, or online community perhaps where I can get real-time assistance with deeper-thought development. (such as PHP, MySQL, etc, etc)

I've scoured Yahoo!, Google, Bing, and even Dogpile searching for my needs, but have come up empty-handed.

An example in the long list of things I wish to learn (if it'll help you point me in the right direction) include, how to setup and execute an on-board search function (Such as the one found above, "Search Y! Answers" *NOT* a Google search function

Alright, so as you may, or may not know, The iPod touch series (In my case late 2nd gen.) is incompatible with the Xbox 360 console (It doesn't recognize that it is connected.) Seeing as I want my own custom sound tracks, every time I want to listen to a song, it has to be burned to a CD, and then ripped to my console (DRM protects it from being read from a Thumb/flash drive), so my question is - Is it legal to download (free) .mp3 files of the songs i've *already* purchased Via iTunes?

Any *help* is greatly appreciated!

OK, so I have a birthday present to purchase (a few of us are pitching in some cash... the amount depends on what er decide to buy)

He decided he wants one of the track-quality RC cars (I.E. Traxxas)

unfortunately, none of us have ever owned... or used anything but the Tyco ones, you can buy at Wal-Mart & such.

Now, I'm not asking which car is the best... because I know everyone has their favorites (same as in airsoft, which i've been a big part of, for ~5 years)

I'm simply asking for the more reputable brands...

He wants an electric car, & a few good sites to browse through would help too ;)

I've been to my local hobby shop, & checked a few out... but I'm looking for a few more opinion's.

so i've been big on answering questions here... but as it turns out, I cant answer my own (somewhat of an... oxy-moron :P)

G&G GR300, the flash hider, CW, or CCW threading?

I cant, for the life of me find that info anywhere... i've searched up & down... High & low., even went to the source (took it to a local airsoft store) him not wanting to be liable for damage to my gun, decided not to remove it, to find out.

Alright...

First off...

The demon doors, i've found & opened all but the one in Oakfield (or is it Oakvale... I get the two mixed up >.<)

I've been through every inch of the map... & i cant find it anywhere... anyone know where it is?

Also in Oak___(insert proper ending here)... A gargoyle... it's somewhere over by the Temple of Light, it's also my last one... I can hear it's voice... but I cant find it (I'm searching on the trail around the back side, across the small pond) am I in the right location?

OK first off. I know A&K, I'm a fan of a select few of their gun's. i've fund mine ot be quite durable, & reliable.

Well, I want to see how others feel about the upcoming Xbox experience (Nov 19).

I'm personally hoping it's optional to download. as it looks like a cross between the Wii, & the Ps3's Main Menu, both of which I don't care for much.

What are your thoughts on it?

What do you think will be the pros / cons to it?

If it's optional, will you use it?

I'm a mid-level airsoft player (I know what i'm doing, but i'm still considered a plinker)

I play 1-2 times a week (I'm currently an active service Marine) & a few friends & I 'practice' (more like have fun :P)

Anyway, past that, I plan on purchasing a UTG Type 96 sniper rifle

BUT i've come to find it has a metal trigger, but a plastic trigger box (system)

I know for a fact, at ~500FPS it's not going to last forever, if longer than a few months.

So i'm looking to purchase a simple upgrade, of a QUALITY metal trigger system (budget not necessary, but... the cheaper the better, aye? :P)

Does anyone happen to have a site, (or even a store located in Southern California) where I would be able to find said item?

My dog is just short of 12 years old, around 1 am, she got sprayed in the face by a skunk. we are guessing it got into her eyes, as she is blinking often, my question is though, is it potentially dangerous to her sight?

As it's still during the middle of the night, we are unable to take her to a vet. we have washed her face off with water though (for about 5 minutes)

Does anyone have any more advice, on what to do until we are able to get her to a vet (we aren't looking for smell remedies, just to make sure she is O.K.

Orright... well me being the usual me, forgot I was wearing the Grey Cowl [Dungeon Diving], & Quick-Traveled to the Imperial City Market District (the guards didnt attack, until I was in the Fighting Chance, for whatever reason), anyway, she went all klepto, & tried to take on like six guards... (somehow I ended up with the bounty for it too >.>, not worried about that though)

anyway, the guards killed her... now, Since I always sold everythign to here (armour & weapons) her disposition was at 100, & I got the best deals from her, so my question is, do they (shop owners) 'respawn, & if so, after how long (I.E. 72 Real- life hours, or 72 'In-game' Hours, etc, etc)

orright... well i've had this game, basically since it came out (& plan on getting the new one), But I just recently started playing again.

anyway... All my stats (by that I mean every stat upgradable is maxed) & I have enough general expierence, to double it, again. anyway... i'm still unable to remove the sword... anyone have ain idea why this might be?

I also have an issue with the Temple of Light... my alignment is pure evil (Rumor has it, it's cheaper to donate, when your evil)

yet i've put at least 700 grand (700,000) into it... & the best I can get is 'your donation is very generous, thankyou', or whatever they say.

those are the only two quests I have left...

Well, I bought COD4 shortly before leaving for the academy

anyway, I have every acheivement but the mile high club, well today, that's all I basically did (decided to take a "me" day, since I havent had one, in near three months), (literally) like 5 hours straight of that mission. I completed it a few times (3-4) *ON VETERAN, WITH NO CHEATS ACTIVATED, & <NOT> KILLING THE HOSTAGE* & never received the acheivement... would that have to do with an update, that I missed, while away (as in is anyone else having this issue/ is it a known issue?)

I've accessed all 7 terminals (three times over) (#'s1-3 on "The Ark", 4-6 on "The Covenant", & then #7 on "Halo"... Am I required to access "Cortana's terminal"?... or does this game just hate me?

Any insight would be helpful, & *ANY* SPAM will be reported (i'm sick of "get a ps3", "wat iz ths!!!?!?!?!" & so on!)

aight... i've been playing GRAW 2 LIVE... basically since it came out... (I much perfer it over cod4), but in the past week or so... i've been noticing alot of server's have bullet lag. (For example..., if you dont know what bullet lag is, on "Locks" i've got a few of my favorite postions on both sides... which i choose not to reveal, =P anyway... i can srvey basically all of the battlefield,[ make note that my main goal is to countersnipe] I sent off a few rounds... directly into my sights... nothing happens, in the meantime I get my head blown off), then... 10-15 seconds later it pops up that i've killed someone (as I am respawning)... Is it just me, or have others been expierencing this?

(my wireless network is 4 bars strong ( as my router isint but 5 feet, 4 inches feet away) & it works <perfectly> on all other games.
