  • Is this refeeding syndrome?

I'm recovering from anorexia nervosa and everytime I eat more then I'm used to I look all tired and even more skinny than I did before. I also notice that my arms are getting thinner, since I fit my fingers around them more easily than before eating the excess food. My eyes are getting sunken and my cheekbones become more visible as well. Is this all a symptom of refeeding syndrome, or is it something else?

  • I'm having too little protein?

I'm a 18 years old male and I am very concerned about my protein intake. I know that I'm not having enough because I have some symptoms. I have very low muscle mass and my nails are purple/blue. The reason why I'm not having enough is simply because I don't enjoy any foods with a high protein content.

What I mainly wonder with this question is what dangers(or eventual benefits) this deficiency can have on my long term health. Does it decrease my life span, can I have any type of cancer from it, is it more dangerous than ex. consuming alcohol? Just give me a lot of information on this. I'm worried.

  • Did this injure my metabolism?

Hi, I'm an 18 years old, recovering anorexic, male. I would really need to know if there is any risk that my metabolism has been damaged. I was on a 1500-calorie diet, no exercise, for maybe a year. My lowest weight was about 49kg (180cm) and when I really decided to recover, I ate a shitload of calories in maybe 1,5 weeks and gained about 8kg. Now, when I don't eat that much anymore, is there a possibility that I've damaged my metabolic rate in any "permanent" way?

  • I think I'm a narcissist?

I'm a male, almost 18 years old, and I have just started to understand that my anxiety throughout my life may have been caused by a narcissistic disorder. But I want to know what you think(if it could be something else).

I am not the kind of person who thinks of himself as superior or something. I am very aware of my low self esteem. My "narcissism" is more about a need to have something which I am the best at doing in my surroundings. I remember when I was little and loved video games. Whenever someone mentioned buying the same game which I was playing I experienced deep anxiety. Right now, I'm recovering from anorexia nervosa but my brother has recently started to lose weight and exercise, which makes me fall in to the illness again since I have a desire to stay thinner than him. And I know that he probably won't get as skinny as I got(180cm/49kg) but it still just doesn't feel enough.

I am the youngest person in my family and have suffered through OCD as well.

I really need help with this. I was working with an iMovie project, recording sounds by using the iMovie audio recorder. Then I quit the program and when I started it again, the recently recorded audio files had the yellow triangle on them, unable to listen to. Please tell me how I can get them back. I have schedule to follow.

  • Why do people find it hard to believe that asexuality exists?

Whenever I google on asexuality I find links questioning the existence of people with no sex drive. People seem to find it hard to believe that someone would not experience sex drive at all, but why would it be so hard to believe? Are people just narrow sighted? It's easy to understand that not everyone is addicted to alcohol, so why would it be so damn hard to see the same pattern in sex?

  • What "true" story is this based on?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcUAkbOameU

I recently found this cartoon video on youtube. About 8 minutes in it starts showing real pictures and the only thing the description says is "based on the true story". Does anyone know which story it's based on? Thanks...

  • Do you think I'm schizoid?

I am 17 years old and was diagnosed with Asperger's and OCD about 1 year ago. Asperger's and schizoid personality disorder have a lot in common, but I feel that I might fit better with the schizoid criteria. This is mainly because Asperger's is something that you're born with, and I don't recall having ALL of my present symptoms since then.

Do I sound schizoid enough to believe I am? Should I be evaluated again or should I stick to my current diagnosis?

When I got into my teen years I started to become very introverted around a big part of my family. I remember one time when I came home from school. I didn't have the courage to pass the living room because my sister was sitting in there. The only close friend I've ever had is my older brother. I've always had friends in school, but I hate it and get anxious when they are trying to reach me on my spare time. I have never taken care, nor cared about my hygiene and I have always been somewhat of a daydreamer. When it comes to emotions, I find that they have decreased over the last 3 years or so. I don't experience real anger or sorrow anymore and I don't have any emotional response to praise or other peoples emotions. I have also lost my sex drive completely.

  • Can my emotional response be examined?

I'm starting to think that I might have some kind of brain disorder in which my emotions are gradually disappearing. I have lost my sex drive, I don't enjoy music anymore and I find that my feelings in general, such as happiness, anger and empathy have decreased a lot for the last year. Is there any way that I could get some kind of brain scan or something, so that my emotional response can be measured? Does anyone here know what this problem could be?

  • I am unsure about my sexuality... please answer?

    I am a 17 year old boy.

I am very sexually attracted to women but have always thought of naked breasts and vaginas as disgusting.

When I was a little boy I was secretly very into crossdressing and wanted to try being a girl.

I tend to like girls with guys clothes.

When I was little I remember falling "in love" with guys in music videos(this still happens some times) but I am not at all sexually attracted to them.

    What am I?

  • Could I have Asperger's syndrome?

I'm a 15 years old boy and I wonder of I possibly have aspergers. I have read the book "born on a blue day" which is a self biography written by Daniel Tammet who has aspergers. When he describes him self and his problems I can relate to them in many cases. I have also read about it on the internet. When I was a little kid I was a bit clumsy and in home videos from when I was about 3 years old I seem not to be fully as happy to communicate as my brothers. When my dad said my name and wanted me to look in to the camera I would not react. Even if he said my name multiple times. When we were at the beach I would often disappear from the group and look at insects. I have also always found it hard to be with my friends outside school. The only people that I can fully communicate with is my oldest brother and my mother. When I was in sixth grade the ninth graders would call me "the giraffe" because I had an unusual walking style. I still have a very bad posture. My social issues have also gone worse over the years. When my family visits my cousins I will usually go and hide in the stairs. I can also find it very hard to make eye contact and sometimes when someone speaks to me my mind can just wander away. Small talk can also be difficult to me. One time when my mothers friend called on the phone and I answered she thought that I was a bit rude because I answered every question with single answers. School has also been a bit of a problem because I have never been good at sports, I can have a hard time understanding the teachers instruction without going bit by bit and I also find it hard to structure my work and complete tasks. I have very bad personal hygiene and prefer to wear the same clothes all the time. I can also enjoy just walking around in circles or just sit down in a dark room with my eyes closed. I also suffer from obsessive compulsive disorder.
