I'm with a girl who has been divorced for about 3 1/2 years and has a 6 yr old son. We clicked right away and we are in love. However, she refuses to let anyone she dates meet her son until they seriously begin discussing marriage. After that she wants it to be a very slow gradual process getting to know him, and only know me as her friend at first, not a boyfriend. She says she wants to protect him from people going in and out of his life that he's become attached to. I think its a very weird level of control. It's not even something you really can control. What do you think? Also the EX is a turd pile. He recently moved further away, and seems to be slowly moving further out of his son's life. She has full custody and he gets visitation every other weekend.
