I am wondering if there are any sensors that can detect when an object passes by it.

From there I am planning on using a microcontroller to do things with that signal.

I have seen distance and infared ones, but that is not exactly what I am looking for.

Assignment:

Create a C++ program that reads in a series of student names, lab scores (6) and exam (midterm and final) scores, and then displays statistics on a per student basis. The program should prompt for the number of students at the start of the program. The summary displayed at the end of the program should contain:

For each student – Name, list of 6 lab scores, average lab score, total lab points, average exam score, overall grade as a percentage, overall grade as a letter grade

The following details apply:

- A maximum of 10 students should be allowed

- Averages should be displayed to 2 decimal places of accuracy - Student scores and names should be stored in an array of objects - All data elements should be private to the student class - All display and calculation functions should be contained in the class

- The maximum number of students should each be defined as a constant, so that only changing the constant implements the change throughout the program.

- No uninitialized values should be displayed - A constructor should be implemented to initialize each student record to zero values

- Lab scores are 1-10 and midterm and final scores are 1-100

- Overall grades should be calculated as follows:

Overall grade = 60% lab work, 20% midterm, 20% final

90 – 100% = A

80 – 89% = B

70 – 79% = C

60 – 69% = D

0 – 59% = F

Create a C or C++ program that opens an input file, filters the contents, and writes the resulting data to an output file. The filter options are:

1) Convert all alphabetic characters to uppercase

2) Convert all alphabetic characters to lowercase

3) Replace all numeric (digit) characters with spaces

The program should prompt for an input file name, then present a menu to select the type of filter to be applied, then prompt for an output file name. It should also support multiple runs, asking “Do you want to process another file?”.

Filenames of up to 40 characters, with any 3 character extension should be supported Invalid menu selections should produce an error message and a redisplay of the menu An error message should be displayed if the filename entered cannot be opened Any characters not affected by the chosen filter should be copied in their original form from the input to the output file
