Thermodynamics help, compressor work in a refrigeration cycle?
HFC134a is to be considered as the working fluid in a prospective refrigeration system.
a. HFC134a (MW=102) is compressed in an adiabatic compressor from 244K and saturated
vapor to 316K and 0.9856MPa. Estimate the work (J/g) required for the compressor
according to the ideal gas law.
b. Estimate the efficiency of the compressor according to the ideal gas law.
For part a. Since its a saturated vapor, I can just look up the temperature and the pressure there can be used correct? But now that I have all T's and P's, what do I do?

3 AnswersOther - Music9 years agoDream meaning with God, take a look at it, I think it's pretty interesting.?
So I had a dream and it goes like this:
I am walking back from class to back to my place, in front of me walking is a guy smoking a cigar, he see's a homeless man (I see him too) and he turns around and gives me his lit cigar, and gives the homeless man a full uncut cigar. I gladly take the cigar and put it in my mouth and take a drag, it is the best cigar I have ever had in my life (I have had quite a few). I continue to walk home but with more confidence now with this cigar in my mouth. I get back to my place but in the dream of course it looks totally different. Well something happens and I can't really remember, something like I am being attacked and I am trying to reach the top of this stairwell, and right when I get to the top I suddenly find my self in a strange new place talking to a god. It was bigger than me, but shaped like a human, except it was just white light, no features to it except that just looking at it commanded respect, knowledge, awesomeness, and fear.
I figure out where I am, I am in the cave of the Terracotta Army, all the sculptures are around me. Except that compared to me, the sculptures are small (the height reaches up to my shin). So I am a giant compared to these things, and God is even bigger than me (I would assume to be 8ft compared to my 6ft in reality). God is yelling at me, he does not like what I did (I don't quite remember what I did, it is a blur). Then God says he will punish me and immediately after saying that he starts to yell out a spell (in latin), This spell makes the sculptures come to life and they start to chase me. I run around this room with these sculptures flying towards me and I just keep brushing them off with my arms. Then I wake up.
Any ideas what it could mean? In the dream I knew it was God, just like how in dreams you just know things.
1 AnswerDream Interpretation9 years agoWhy do people ask the purpose of life, or the meaning of life, why do we exist, etc?
People ask these questions, do they seriously think they will get the truth from Yahoo Answers! The fact that people have trust and faith in other human beings knowledge (who are consistently wrong 99% the time) about everything is completely absurd. These type's of questions are not philosophy, philosophy is the aim to solve questions, not ponder over them for a man's entire existence alive.
For example, good questions would be...:
-Prove to me that you are not figments of my imagination.
-Can the existence of a god be proven or disproven?
-What is man?
-How can it be determined that my experience of consciousness is the same as anyone else's experience of consciousness?
-Why is there something rather than nothing?
-if a man born blind, and able to distinguish by touch between a cube and a globe, were made to see, could he now tell by sight which was the cube and which the globe, before he touched them?
-Is color a product of the mind or an inherent property of objects.
-Is a bale of hay still a bale of hay if you remove one straw? If so, is it still a bale of hay if you remove another straw? If you continue this way, you will eventually deplete the entire bale of hay, and the question is: at what point is it no longer a bale of hay?
Please don't ask questions where the answer can only be found in your opinion, ask questions that could maybe one day be proven.
7 AnswersPhilosophy10 years agoI have very vivid dreams that...? Really long.?
I have these vivid dreams where I am relived that I wake up. Every night I will have these dreams that are so ridiculous, so off the wall, so frightening in a way, that when I wake up I am glad I woke up and I am so exhausted from sleeping. I have had these dreams since middle school as far as I remember, am now in my twenties.
The things present in my dreams are vast, from me trying to escape people trying to hurt me, fighting people trying to hurt me, facing impossible obstacles, meeting people I haven't seen in years, meeting people that I am sure have never seen in my life, flying, immortality, having no strength, having super strength.
Pretty much in my dreams I have had all sorts of dreams with all of the anti's of the dreams. For a while I started thinking about my dreams throughout the day and have been able to lucid dream many times. I can also force dreams, where I think of something lying down and whatever scenario I think of is the beginning of a dream, but even if I do pleasant ideas, it always gets twisted into something crazy.
For example, the dream I had last night was the following:
I find my place at an indoor racing event and I am Jeff Gordon (I am the actual person in the #24 car). I am in the middle of a race and not doing so good, I go around a couple laps but can't seem to pass anybody, I decide that it is time for a pit stop and go to the pit station or whatever it's called (I don't watch NASCAR). My team moves very slow and because of this we lose the race. After the race I cleanup in the locker room and decide to hold a team meeting where I tell them it's time to communicate better and move faster during pit stops so we can win. The group of people didn't like this and they yelled at me and stormed away. I walk away saying whatever to myself but deep down inside I am insulted and sad. I walk outside and the dream shifts to me being in a city where I am trying to get back to my dorm ( from when I was a freshman at the university). I need to cross a train station but don't seem to have the mental aptitude to do so. I end up walking away and all of sudden I am in the city where I grew up when I was kid trying to do something, but I don't know what I am doing, just walking.
The dream continues on and on and I remember most of it, in fact I remember almost every dream I have now, again, since middle school. That whole paragraph happens really fast in a dream, if I were to type out the whole dream it would easily be about 8 or 9 paragraphs, and as you can see, it becomes tiresome, when I wake up, I am so relieved that I am done sleeping, but I am so exhausted that it is hard for me to go through the day. It is like when I am dreaming my body is getting tortured or something, everything I feel in a dream (emotions) are amplified. I can feel love, hate, anger, lust, courage, happiness, but it is so extreme, I can't even feel it this much when I am awake.
The only thing that makes me stop dreaming is alcohol, but then of course, I don't sleep at all. Sleeping pills gives me even more vivid dreams and last even longer. Is there anything I can do to stop dreaming, I know this might sound ludicrous, but I assure you, when you wake up and pray to god you are still alive every single day is not fun at all.

3 AnswersPolls & Surveys10 years agoJust picked up my first bass guitar...where do I start? haha?
So I was watching Flea slap the bass and I was like dang, that's what I want to be able to do. So I picked up a Fender Squire. I already have an amp and cords because my brother plays electric guitar. Anyways, now that I have this machine, where do I start, what should I practice first, how long everyday, and things of the sort would be grateful.
I have played the saxophone for about 12 years and piano for about 3 years, so I know a bit about music theory and flats, sharps, majors, and minors, etc. and basic to advanced music notations. However, this is my first guitar and am not going to get a teacher, so I was thinking I should learn scales and chords first. Is that a good place to start?
2 AnswersOther - Music10 years agoChili Peppers new album, good, bad, or the ugly?
Personally, I think this album will be like a mix of Mothers Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magik with more rhythm but not like the Californication style of the past three albums due to Frusciante disbanding...So I think the album will completely kick a*s!
4 AnswersRock and Pop10 years agoWhat churns your stomach and your venus?
What thing makes your stomach churn with emotions, crawling up your spine?
Such as a song, a phrase from your lover, watching/playing with a puppy, painting, anything.
Mine would have to be the Star Spangled Banner, when sung right, I get shivers.

3 AnswersHoroscopes10 years agoWhats your favorite to mix with popov/vodka?
yes, I know it is the cheap cr*p, but as a student at a university, money handling skills is a must, haha. Plus, getting a good buzz before heading to the pub saves a lot of money too.
Anyways, my favorite mixed drinks for popov would be:
vodka and root beer
vodka and monster
I am looking for new recipes, I do not like vodka and O.J..
I have also recently tried gin and enjoyed, what are some cheap brands and recipes for those? I really liked the gin and tonic my brother gave me over the 4th holiday weekend.
