I've been in a private school since third grade, and right now, I'm in 8th grade. So I'm going to be in high school next year. I absolutely hate it. We don't have any of the opportunities you can get in a public school, such as electives, sport teams, clubs, dances, and all that jazz. There also isn't nearly as much students, either, and I'm not friends with many people there. I actually hate a lot of them. I just feel like I'm missing out on the whole middle school/high school/teenage experience. My parents are worried that if I go to a public school, I'll be peer-pressured to do bad things and change myself for people, start dressing like a slut, won't fit in, blah blah blah. Another reason is because the private school I go to has better education or something. But that's not true, because I know three students that transferred to my school from public school and they all skipped a grade because they had already taken what their class was taking now last year. They basically think public school is the devil and already decided that I'm going to stay in the same private school until I finish my high school years. I know that they're just doing what they think is best for me, but I just hate the school so much and wish that I at least had another option. At least try it. They're very hard to convince and usually don't want to even hear it when I ask about switching schools. So all I'm really asking is what you think is better, how can I get my parents to let me go, and what are the advantages to public school versus private school.

A lot of muslims tell me it is but whenever i ask why, all they say is "It's in the Quran" or something. However, i know everything has it's reason and Allah would not forbid music for no good reason. Music has its many benefits along with it's bad influences, but i think music that stays away from sex/drugs/violence etc. is not bad at all. (I won't lie, i still do listen to it.) I know some people will be like "Just listen to a nasheed" but i can not describe how much i hate those things. When i listen to something, i want it to speak to me and make me feel understanding or happy, such as if you go through heartbreak you'll most likely listen to depressing music. But at the same time, it makes you feel better. i really just hate those squeaky-voice little girls and boys in the nasheeds that keep chanting the same thing. And no offense at all astaghfirAllah, but i don't ONLY want to listen to something speaking about islam. Yes, i will not mind it, but i do like other stuff as well. Therefore, i don't think Nasheeds are the only exception when it comes to music. It still follows a beat, right?

So please answer WHY is music considered haram? What VERSE(S) in the Quran forbid it? I'm really really curious and just want the right answer with some explanation.

I was wondering how do people get hundreds and thousands of followers on tumblr? Some blogs i've seen aren't even that good and they have tons of followers. I update often so that is not a problem. I like posts alot, reblog stuff, ask questions, but i only have 65 followers and have been on for almost two months. Oh, and i also keep losing followers, too. What am i doing wrong?

Im 13 and have been saving up for a netbook.Mainly what I'm planning to use it for is just surfing the web, watching videos, homework, and Photoshop. I've been looking around on amazon and I really liked the Dell Mini netbook 1012 for only $299, but after seeing the Acer netbook For $269 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d.html?sp=1&qid=127672... ) I'm not so sure which one is better. Both hold up to 8 hours of battery life, a webcam (although Dell's is a bit better) and have windows 7 starter. They both come with 1gb ram. I heard Dell's touchpad is uber annoying, but the screen brightness is both great and a bit too reflective. So I suppose at this point it's based on Design or from personal experiance having one. Which one do you think is better/if you have one of these, what do you think about it?

Also, will using Photoshop CS4 on one of these work decently? Or will it lag and stuff?

ok, so i might get a wii. I found this decent deal on walmart where you get the wii, the sports game, & a bonus game for $250. So far, all the bonus games look pretty boring. If you could choose, which one do you think is the best out of all of them & why?
