I want to become a primary school teacher - where do I go from here?
I am 18, going on 19 years old in August, and I want to teach in primary schools.
I currently studying a Extended Diploma in Sport, as part of my course I had to teach
young children in local schools ranging from Year 1 to Year 6 various sports and physical activities.
I really enjoyed the entire experience, and after 2 years thinking I wished to become a personal trainer I have decided in actual fact I want to teach young children.
I found the entire experience brilliant, I left the school each week with a great feeling of satisfaction because I felt I had made a difference - I liked how their faces lit up whenever they were taught something new, it was a very rewarding experience.
I have got good GCSEs including Bs in Maths, and Double Science, although I didn't do so well in English I don't see English as a problem as I am quite literate.
It looks like I will finish the current course with MMM, alongside First Aid certificate, NGB Coaching Badge, Higher Sports Leader Award, and Community Sports Leader Award.
I am wondering where do I go from here, is a degree the only way forward, if so which degree should I take, I am guessing I have to follow this up with a PGCE?

I am running XAMPP on my Windows based computer. I am learning about PHP and MySQL and want to run MySQL from command line. I have opened MySQL.exe in XAMPP/MYSQL/BIN which works. However, when CMD loads up, it appears I am already logged in as I get the following:

I want to login with a different user-account which has all privileges granted as the current account does not allow to create databases only access and view tables (not edit), how can I go about this?

I have recently started athletics and would say i am quite an active person as play rugby go to the gym as often as i can as-well as being a good cross county runner i have recently took up athletics with the aim of competing in 400m next year.
Tonight we completed our warm up and went into a drill with ladders focusing on high knees etc. After around 3 sets i started getting a small pain in around hamstring and glutei area in right upper leg.
We then completed 2 run downs and of the first i could feel my hamstring starting to get really tight and felt like muscle was all knotted up so stopped and as one of coaches is sports therapist stretched hamstring in several ways and it felt much better.
I returned to the main session where had to complete 120m 6 times. I sprinted off the mark and almost instantly felt very mild tightness but carried on as just thought was affect of massage and then suddenly got this almighty pain and had to stop in which i called it a day and got a lift home. Since i have iced it on and off for last hour and i would like some advice as to what to do.
In the session i was really focusing on getting high knees and wonder whether maybe hamstring was contracted as made contact with ground.
Any advice would be welcome.

I am in year 12 and studying maths, physics, biology and p.e. and interested in studying physics at university. I am also a keen rugby player and interested in developing in this area too, and looking for a university that will be able cater for me and if i am good enough to get me into a pro/semi pro setup. The second term of a geometric progression is 18 and the fourth term is 2. The common ratio is
positive. Find the sum to infinity of this progression.
18 = a x r ^2 (1)
2 = a x r ^ 3 (2)
(1) - (2)
-16 = r^2
I am pretty sure that can't be right.
But once i have r i can put that into the following:
18 = a x r ^1
and then rearange to find a.
Then put that into the formula
S = a/(1-r)
Let me know if i am going about the right way of doing this.

I am 17 and taking my a levels and for the last 3 months maybe i have seen an increase in my diet which alongside a reduced motivation for activities i once enjoyed like going to the gym i have seen myself put on weight. I have also had trouble with sleeping at night, which has made me feel less tolerant to others around me. Alongside the reduced self esteem and tearfulness. I have spoke to a friend who has recommended i go see my GP, but he has no idea what it feels like to its difficult for him to understand the anxiety and great embarrassment towards the idea of asking for help from my GP. I really want to keep it low profile, i haven't even told my parents how i feel and i want to keep it that way unless it reaches serious threat to my health. I feel so lonely and excluded from social activities such as parties or get togethers at the weekend, and when i arrange something i am often let down. Even when i am feeling more upbeat when i am having a laugh with friends, i am sad because i know all good things come to an end. I just these feelings to go away. What sort of things can i do before seeking expert help. Is there things i could do with the friend i have told about the way i am feeling. I think i would feel more comfortable opening up to him about the way i feel than some strange person i don't really know. That is really my last resort, going to see my GP. Please give me your advice on what actions i could take to getting my life back on track.

What happens if light travels from a low refractive index to a higher refractive index? I am asking because an Abbe refractometer allows a user to measure the refractive index of a material very accurately, but the refracting prism is designed to be used with samples having a refractive index smaller than that of the refracting prism. If it had a bigger refractive index would that cause light to bend away from the normal?

Hey,
I am 16 and in year 12. I am well known for being a rugby player and in general quite a sporty person. I get the overall impression that people enjoy spending time with me at school, we have a lot of laughs and jokes and the atmosphere is in general very welcoming and fun. I get along with basically everybody at school, however, i don't really belong to a group of friends that meet up outside school and have a laugh and that really makes me feel depressed. It feels like as soon as i leave school i am alone. I have never been invited to a friends party or invited to go somewhere like for example the cinema. One day in year 10 i asked some people whether they would like to go to cinema, which we did and it was a great day out. But since then i have been out with anyone, not because i don't want to because i would. To be honest i feel like a looser and have been suffering from depression because of it. I could ask some people whether they wanted to do something, but feels like i am forcing them to do something they don't want to do. There are groups of friends and if i asked whether i could tag along with them to do something, i would feel like i am in the way and a waste of space because they have known each other for a long time and i don't feel accepted.
I don't know what to do just want to have that group of friends around me to support me, and spend time together and share secrets with.
