Would you go out with a guy like me? Can you notice that I have a few extra pounds? Girls aren't really my strong suit... :/

So about a month ago, I went to a friends party with a couple of friends. He asks me to pick up his friend, which I am totally fine with. When I pick her up, she is looking really pretty. I end up talking to her and she just got out of a 2 year relationship. I've known her since shes been in her relationship, but we never really talked much. I only talk with her or see her when my friend invites me and her over. On the way over, she loves all the music I play in the car. Shes like, "wow, you know that song?" When we are at the party, we don't really talk much, but I make my rounds and try to talk with everyone. At one point, there was this drunk guy there that asked us, "you guys are cute. are you couple?" We both looked at each other, smiled, and then both said no. At that point in my head, I was thinking "I wish." So at the end of the night, I get her number and tell her I had a great time and to not be a stranger. I end up telling her after the weekend, that I liked her, and would like to get to know her more by hanging out. I also said, that I'd just like to be friends at this time because I know that she just got out of a 2 year relationship. She told me when she first met me, that she WAS attracted to me when she was with her ex. She kinda figured out that I liked her and said she wouldn't mind going out on a date when she felt comfortable to date again. We have been texting on and off for a couple weeks, and I'm always the first to text. She takes a while to respond back because she gets busy. Everyone that knows that I like her, can't quite place a finger on her either. She said she was busy during the month of August moving in to her new place, going on family trips, and celebrating her 21st birthday coming up. So she told me it would be hard for her to hangout. Right when she told me she started getting busy, I would always ask her what she would be up to with little or no response. When I told her I had free time to hangout, she told me she was at the beach with other friends and I would see the pictures on facebook. When I told her a week ago if she was ignoring me or asked her if she still wanted to get to know me, she apologized to me. I told her that I really like her and would still like to hangout and get to know her. She told me that she still really wants to get to know me. I've been thinking about her a lot and am always looking at her facebook, pictures, etc. Should I continue to try and talk with her and see what happens? Or is she playing me? What should I do?
