  • 1st period after baby--who is exclusively breastfed?

My son is 9 1/2 months old and last month I got my 1st period since having him. This month it has yet to show up. I was wondering how common it is to have one and then miss the next...and NOT be preggo. I think my body is just trying to get back to normal because I have no symptoms of being preggo and will test this week on Saturday to be sure. I have heard some women say they get their first post baby period then miss one but then it comes back the next month. Did this happen with any of you? I really do not want to be pregnant again so soon but if I am I will be happy because it is a blessing from God. I am just curious to see what other ladies experiences have been.

    Any info will be helpful.

And to anyone who may want to chastise me for this I am 25 and not a kid. I take care of all my responsibilities.

  • Birth Control after baby is born... While breastfeeding.?

At my 6 week check up, my dr. prescribed me ortho tri cyclen lo... because I was on it before. I told him I wanted something that doesn't affect your breast milk. I am breastfeeding and plan to do so until my son doesn't want to anymore. Then I read some other questions that other people posted and saw that regular pills will dry up your milk supply. And the only one that is ok is the "mini pill" which I don't know what that is...I don't want to be on anything that will affect it, I have not taken any of the pills yet.. and they say right in the info not to take while breastfeeding. I am confused as what to do. Seems like the Dr. should have kept this in mind when giving me bc pills.

My question is, what birth control are you on after having your baby, and has it affected your breast milk supply?

I will be asking my Dr. at my sons 2 month check up in a few weeks, I just want to hear opinions and experiences of others with breastfeeding and birth control.

  • Tips to help baby sleep in his own bed (bassinet)?

My baby is almost 3 weeks old and will not sleep in his bassinet! he will only sleep if me or my bf hold him... all night.. and in the day for naps.. we are getting so worn out from taking turns being up around the clock-- literally and to make things worse I am breastfeeding and recovering my C-section so I am completely exhausted. The only sleep we get is from naps while he is sleeping. :(

We also lay him down sleepy but awake like all the books say to do....that doesn't work either, so we tried laying him down when he's asleep, only for him to wake up 2 min later.

We are trying to let him "cry it out" but that does nothing but make him cry louder and scream and frazzle our nerves.

When we were in the hospital, he slept in the nursery in a bassinet.. so I don't know what the big difference is... is it possible that he just 'hates' this one?

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated

  • ? about hospital and car seat...?

I had a graco car seat given to my boyfriend and myself, and on the bottom in printed letters it says DO NOT USE AFTER DECEMBER 2008. Our friend just purchased this seat last year and her baby has since outgrown it. My question is, do car seats really have expiration dates? At the hospital the nurses ensure a proper fit and installation of the seat. Will they not let us use it?

    Thanks in advance

  • When you get a blood pregnancy test, can it be wrong if you havent missed your period?

My period was due on the 16th of Feb. I am very regular always have exactly 24 day in between..like clock work. but it hasnt came yet and i have been experiencing spotting, light red to a brownish color(the first time was Feb 6-10th... then it came back again on the 13th/14th and again the 16th and then again today. It is only here for a little time and then it is completly gone for the day. I have been eating like crazy lately and feeling nauseated, very tierd and light headed. Well long story short I became fed up with the whole period not coming and decided to go to the hospital after i had a very sharp pain today accompanied by a few VERY small clots. The DR was irritated i believe because i dont have insurance and chalked it up to "mabye your sick" The blood test came back NEG but im wondering if it was too soon for the test?

To me my period will be a total "miss" if i dont have it when i start my new pill pack (ortho tri cyclen lo) on Tues..

    any suggestions or ideas?
