  • What are my chances of getting into Pharmacy School?

When I first got out of high school I wasn't very serious about school and didn't know what I wanted to do so I got some not so good grades... including several C's, one D, and 2 F's. One of the F's was a stupid mistake on my part by not dropping a class that I decided to no longer take that semester. So as a result of these bad grades combined with my improved grades I am now getting, I only have about a 2.5 GPA, which I know is lower than almost all required GPA's for pharmacy schools. Although if you only include the pharmacy prerequisites and important science classes my GPA is in the range of 3.0-3.5. I'v been working as a Pharmacy Technician for a couple years now and as a Pharmacy clerk for several years. Also my dad is a pharmacist and owns a pharmacy that I have been involved in and have learned from for many years. I am strong in the subject of chemistry and other science subjects but I am just worried about my early college grades that are less than adequate. Also I might as well mention that I was a student athlete for the first 2 years of college and that may have affected my grades a bit, as well as a lack of motivation.

I'm basically just looking for a general consensus from some people about this that have knowledge or have gotten into Pharmacy school themselves. I have done my research, trust me I'm not coming on Yahoo to decide what I'm going to do the rest of my life. And I'd appreciate no smartass comments please. :)

  • Should I get a new car?

So I have a 2003 325xi with 120,000 miles that I bought about a year ago. It is a 2.5L with an automatic transmission. The only reason I want to sell it is because I really want a manual and would also like to get the 3.0L 330xi.

I'm just wondering what other people opinions are about selling a car you've only owned for a year and buying almost the same car but with less miles, is a manual, with the bigger engine. I was going to try and sell my car for around 6K dollars and then save up a couple grand so I can buy another one with less miles for around 8K.

I'v owned BMWs before and know how to repair them and don't ever have lot's of problems with them so please, don't try convincing me not to buy a BMW. And also, I live in an area with snow in part of the year so that is the reason for the AWD.

I am only asking because I have never owned a car for so little time so I don't know if it's a dumb idea to get another car in a such a short amount of time. But I'd also like to do this sooner than later obviously because my current car is still depreciating and I'd like to get as much as I can.

  • What is faster BMW or Ford?

Specifically, a 2003 BMW E46 325xi or one of those new Ford F350 6.7L diesel trucks. Which one is faster? I know it's stupid to be comparing a truck to a sports car but me and a friend have been disagreeing... and the internet has seemed to be on my side, although different sites have given different answer so I want to see if anyone has actual experience or can answer this with certainty.

    Thanks

  • How do you clean your computer insides?

I have been researching some vacuum/blower products on amazon and have found some very nice looking ones for around $60 dollars. My question is, do I really need a special vacuum like this or can I use a air compressor to blow all the dust out?

I have never cleaned any of my computers before but I want to clean this one because it is my nice gaming computer that I got a year ago.. and it's still very fast I would like to keep it clean and running good.

Any other easy/efficient ways to clean computers? I'm not just talking about the keyboard.. in case anyone was wondering.

  • Why are my new aquarium lights not as bright?

I just replaced my fluorescent aquarium strip lights that were over a year old and the new ones are quite a bit dimmer than my old lights. My lights are 24 inch 20 watt T8 bulbs. Before I changed the bulbs I had one 17 watt "stock" light bulb that came with the fixture (which I'v heard are not very good lights and should be changed soon anyways). And the other fixture, which was given to me, was a 20 watt "aftermarket" light bulb which is an ExoTerra brand bulb (which I think is the wrong type of bulb anyways).

Just to make things clear... Why are 2, 20 watt Aqua Glo brand fluorescent strip lights dimmer than my old 17 and 20 watt bulbs? 37 watts changed to 40 watts should be brighter right? Or at least the same brightness...

  • How do you work the handsfree phone on a 2003 bmw 325xi?

I'v looked all over the internet and in my owners manual but nothing seems to give clear directions or directions for my particular year. It is a bluetooth handsfree system that you activate with a button on the steering wheel. But when I press the button it doesn't do anything, I'm not sure if theres a certain way of doing it or if I still need to activate something. Because my car says that it is "wired to bluetooth telephone" or something like that but I don't know if that means it is completely set up for it or if it just has the "wires" already in the car but isn't set up yet.

If anyone knows about this has this car and uses the handsfree phone please any info will help, thanks.

  • Why is my E46 325xi so much slower than my E36?

    I used to have a 1992 E36 BMW 325i thats was a 5-speed manual. Now I have an 2003 E46 325xi that is an automatic/steptronic.

I know automatic is slower than manual but I didn't think it would be this much slower. I'v had the car for a few months now and I'm still not used to the acceleration difference. I try to pull into a gap in traffic on the highway and it is much more difficult to get up to speed that I am used to. Could AWD contribute to this as well? And also I know the E46 is a heavier car but I thought the engine was better (although same HP).

Would a Dinan tune, dinan intake, and dinan muffler make is faster than my old one? And yes I do prefer Dinan.

  • Should I get a Dinan or a magnalow muffler on my bmw 325xi?

Trying to decide which one to get on my 2003 bmw 325xi. The Dinan muffler I think sounds a little better (at least on youtube) but it is literally 6 times more expensive. The magnaflow muffler is very affordable but I don't know for sure if it will sounds as good or if it is "free flow" like Dinan claims theirs is.

  • Why does my E46 325xi have a valve on the muffler?

I was going to put on an exhaust today but I went to the shop and the guy said I had a valve that opens and closes when I give it gas. I didn't know they had this. It is a valve in one of the exhaust holes, the other hole doesn't have one. I said I would wait on the exhaust while I figure out what exactly the valve is for and if it is important. I'v looked online and I can't find many answers about it. The exhaust guy guy said he's seen it before but didn't know much about them and recommended looking into it before I replace it.

I don't want to mess up my car I just want to get a new muffler (not entire exhaust). I gunna go to the dealership tomorrow and see what they say but I thought I'd check on here if anyone has replaced their E46 that has this valve. I'm trying to get a Magnaflow exhaust but I don't want to do anything bad to my car. Any suggestions please?

  • Is it worth getting a Dinan performance chip in a bmw 325xi?

I just started looking into getting a chip for my 325xi. I know it wont make a big difference, but I'v heard it can add a little performance and better throttle response. I see that some of them only cost around $300 and will take off the governor, will give better throttle response and better revs. I'm not looking for a big jump in HP, but if it gave me a couple I would be fine with that. I just want to get a little upgrade without doing too much to it.

Is this worth it? I'm interested in hearing from people who actually have them and not just people who don't like chips or don't like BMWs. I'm not trying to make it a race car... I know a 325 is not a very fast car I'm just looking for some small upgrades I can do that are below $1,000. I looked up some forums and did a little research but I couldn't find many reviews written by people who have done this themselves.

  • 2003 BMW 325xi headlight?

I found a head light on ebay that I need for about $100. Im just wondering if this is a good place to buy it or if I should get it from somewhere else. I don't know of any other websites that have them, and I don't know if this is a good price, any ideas?

  • How much would exhaust cost on a bmw 325i?

I am thinking about getting an aftermarket exhaust on my E46 325xi. I know this car isn't that fast and an exhaust wont make it fast either but I just like the sound of it a lot. I'm talking about getting a muffler, not an entire new exhaust. I just want one that doesn't make it sound like a ricer and that isn't too expensive.

And I don't want to mess up the performance or mechanics of the car either. I'm planning on having the car for a while longer and I want to keep it in good shape for as long as possible. Just wondering if anyone has experience doing this and can recommend something.

EDIT: And if anyone knows anything about getting an intake as well, advice would be appreciated. Thanks

  • How much would this repair cost on my bmw 325xi?

I need to replace the lower control arm ball joints on both sides, ball joints on frame, bushing kit for control arms, inner and outer tie rods, and the axle boot on the passenger side.

I got a quote for $1850 but they also said that is the MAX price and that it could come out to be cheaper once they get a better look at it. A lot of the parts are covered in grease and oil so it is hard to see what it is exactly thats leaking the grease. The mechanic has always been trustworthy and has given good deals on everything. It just seems like this is a little pricey for this. The parts don't cost so much because he doesn't buy OEM parts he buys a different kind that are also made in germany.

Is this price too high or just right?

  • Bmw 325xi E46 question?

I was about to buy a 2003 bmw 325xi with 110,000 miles but when I took it in to the shop for inspection before buying my mechanic found that the front axle needed work. Both boots, control arms, ball joints, and tie rods may need replacing. And the cost of this can go all the way up to 1800 if EVERYTHING needed replacing. but he said that he thinks not everything will need to be replaced and that he could re use some parts. My mechanic is a friend of mine and tries to give me as good a good deal as he can. Sometimes he has the parts I need in his shop already and will barely charge anything for them. He doesn't know exactly what it will cost yet but said to expect paying at least $1,000.

So I wondering if I was previously gunna pay $6800 if there were no problems, would paying 5500 (since there are problems) be a fair offer? I asked if he would take $5500 in compensation for the repairs it needs and Im not sure if he even took me seriously or if he is now going to completely ignore me.

Just wondering cuz I really like the car and was just so close to buying it, I wouldn't mind buying it for cheaper and fixing it up a bit.

  • Should I buy a 2013 subaru impreza?

I just test drove a 2013 subaru impreza 2.0L premium sedan. It is a solid car and is perfect for what I need it for.

I need all wheel drive, reliability, and good gas mileage. This is my favorite model of all subarus and subarus are the most affordable/well known all wheel drive company. So this seems like the best car for me but Im not sure if I should buy a new one.

Should I pay $18,665.00 for this brand new subaru at $250 per month for 72 months and a 5 year power train warranty..... Or should I buy a 2010 subaru impreza 2.5L hatchback with 25,000 miles for $16,500.

The 2013 is a manual (which I would want) and the 2010 is automatic. The 2010 only has partial warranty left, if it is certified...

  • Is a 2004 audi A4 reliable?

I currently own a 2 wheel drive bmw and am looking for an all wheel drive car. I am considering an audi since they are more well known for their all wheel drive. I'm looking at a 2004 Audi 1.8T with 70,000 miles. I looked at some reviews and almost every person gave a bad review and said they break all the time.

So I was curious and looked up a review on my current car (which has been reliable for many years) and a lot of people gave it bad reviews as well, saying that it breaks down a lot too. But my bmw never has. So I don't know if I should believe the reviews people write or if I should just go for it and buy one that is a good deal.

  • Audi, bmw, or subaru?

I need an all wheel drive car and these are the three brands I have to choose from. I own a bmw right now but is back wheel drive. I have always owned bmws so I know they are reliable if you take care of them right. I just don't know about audis or subarus. they are both cheaper to buy than a bmw but I am not sure about the repairs and maintenance.

Cars I am looking at are:

    2008 subaru impreza 2.5

    2006 bmw 330xi

    2004 audi a4 quattro 1.8t

all 3 cars have about 70,000 miles
