  • Why don't all states publish voters' guides?

The state of washington publishes a booklet before every election listing every option for voting, it shows pictures of all candidates, allows each candidate to make a statement of why they should be elected, lists every ballot measure summarizes it, and allows supporters and opponents to write an essay in support and opposition to it (and rebut the other side's arguments). They print up lots of these and distribute them everywhere (including at the polling locations). That way every voter has at their fingertips all the information they should need to make an educated decision in the election.

The only other state I could find that does this is California. Do other states do this, if they don't why not?

  • Which carbine for home defense?

After quite a bit of thought, and testing, I think my wife and my best choice for a home defense weapon is a carbine probably in 5.56x45 (.223). Anyone have any suggestions? I'm asking mostly because I'm not familiar with the M4 family of rifles, and have been thinking of a bullpup design.

Normally this will probably be the back up weapon to a 12 gauge pump shotgun loaded with 00 buck, but would become her primary weapon on the odd occasions I'm not in the home.

  • Josh Reed vs STL or Antonio Bryant vs GB?

I'm facing a major bye week collision with Manning, Wayne, Jones, Carlson, and the Giant's D on bye week. So I picked up Reed earlier this week, but now Bryant is available (and I'd have to drop Reed to get him). I love the St Louis match ups, but I'm thinking Bryant might be a better pick against a beat up GB secondary.

    Any thoughts?

I'm not too nervous about this game, as this week's opponent has holes from bye week, so I'm thinking not only about this week but also a couple weeks out.
