We have been off/on for over 2 years with alot of ups and downs...seems more downs! I do love him and care for him (he has a lifelong illness and I worry constantly) and I know he loves me...too much??? He would do anything for me...and has. He has even gone so far as to climb my roof to get to my window to tell my he loves me. He's driven 300 miles, round trip, to leave me a rose. If I was 16, that would be romantic. But, I'm not and it actually scared me ( the roof -climbing). I can't seem to let him go and yet, I feel like I should. ADVICE, PLEASE....

Backround: We have been off/on for 2 years. I have had issues with trust in the past. When we met, it was love at first sight...and scared the s**t out of me. He felt the same way and was very open about it. That made me more scared. I had a tendency to run...several times. After the first time, he met someone else. Well, after all this time of off/on (him going between the 2 of us) I have realized that he is ALL I WANT...my TRUE LOVE, that I want to spend my life with. Unfortunately, he went back to her again. Is it wrong to NOT want to be with anyone else? And, to want to wait...even if it's forever, for him? PLEASE...no mean answers. I already know that everything that has happened was because of my issues and insecurities. I'd like to add that I was in an abusive 16 year marriage that, I feel, added to my problems.

My ex will send a text or call when I'm not near either phone and if I don't get right back to him, he sends another message saying he made a big mistake in contacting me and he'll NEVER do that again!! Why does he do this and how am I supposed to take it? BTW...he left me 11 days ago for someone else he had been seeing whenever we had problems...nice, huh?

Have you found your "soulmate" and had the relationship be difficult then, discover that you also love someone else? And, what did you do?

If it really is possible and you're in that position, what would be the best thing to do? Just pick one? Leave both?
