  • What kind of business structure does Oxford University have?

I have to do a presentation on company structures. I stupidly picked Oxford Univesity without realised how complicated its structure actually is.

I have to say which structure it most fits into out of a Flat Structure, Tall Structure, Matrix Structure or Functional Structure. I kind of feel like it elements of all of them.

  • Will school staff still get paid now the schools are closing?

I work in a school. Now that schools are closing on Friday. Do you think staff will still be paid even though they cannot attend work?

  • Should I try asking her out again?

There’s this woman I keep seeing on my way home from work.

Twice I’ve said “hi” to her hoping to ask her out and twice I’ve ended up just standing there gawping at her and walking away, saying I’d catch her next time.

Do you think I should try again? What do I do? The idea of it seems so easy, but when I’m standing in front of her I just can’t get the words out.

  • How long will this debt affect my credit score?

I was a bit stupid at university. I got given an overdraft by the bank, which they then took away, so I was about £1000 in debt. Being a bit ignorant of the consequences of this I ignored/put off dealing with this. My debt got sold to a debt collecting company.

Over the next few days I’ll be clearing that account, but I’ve read that my debt will affect my credit rating badly for 6 years.

Using a credit checking website the start date for this account is September 2008 & it lists the end date as being 13 February 2014. So my question is this. Will this account appear on my future credit checks 6 years from when I “made the mistake?” Meaning it’ll be clear as soon as I pay it off? Or will it remain on my account 6 years from when I’ve paid it off next week?

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

  • Is there anyway I could have hit someone in my car without realising?

I was just driving to take my dog out in my mum s quite large car. the sun was in my eyes and all I could see was the shadows of the hedge in the road, but then I suddenly realised there was this shadow of a head bobbing up and down and that is was someone running, but they were basically invisible. So I quickly swung out to the other side of road. I don t think I was even that close and I didn t hear a thump or anything and other than thinking god that s dangerous! I didn t really give it a second thought. But on my way back from taking the dog out there was an ambulance and police cars and the runner was lying on the ground. I don t think it could have been me, it must have been someone behind, surely you d know if you hit someone right? But I m paranoid incase it was me and I ve done a hit and run without realising. What do you think? Would this even be possible? (I was doing about 50mph on a national speed limit road)

  • What should I do? Work/personal dilema?

I got promoted 6 months ago to manager. Which meant leaving the store I was working at and driving about 40minutes each way to my new store.

Initially hated it, but I ve grown to really like my team and if I left I think I d really miss them.

I m not a natural manager though, and I only really agreed to because I m not really sure what I want to do with my life and I thought I d give it a go. I d also got my heart broken by a woman who lived opposite to where I was working, it was kind of tearing me up and I needed a quick way out.

I feel like I find the job more stressful than I should, My area manager has really high standards, that I don t think I d ever be able to meet. Also I miss having spare time, I feel like I m always working or stressing about the job.

I mentioned (some of) this to my old manager and he suggesting that I come back as his assistant manager.

I worked it out minus tax and taking into account travel costs and I d virtually get almost the same amount of money I m getting now. But it would be so much less stressful, there d be no travelling, and I d have so much more time to find out what I want to do with my life

BUT I m scared that Im throwing away an opportunity. I also feel like I m over the heartbreak now, but I m worried all my old feelings will come back and I ll end up the same mess I was when I left, when I have to start seeing the woman I was in love with and her husband.

What do you think I should do? Any suggestions? I m really confused!

  • Passport expiry question?

My passport expires in March 2016, I'm planning to go to India for two weeks in September. Do you think I'll have any problems? I've heard some people have trouble boarding if they haven't got enough time left on their passport.

  • Which terminators should I watch before seeing Terminator Genisys?

I've only got a few hours until I go to see Terminator Genisys, so I've only really got time to watch one of the old terminators before I go.

I have seen 1, 2 and terminator salvation, but I haven't seen them for ages. For anyone who's already seen Terminator Genisys which one would be best to what to understand what's going on/get references? Or if anyone saw it without watching the others did you find it didn't really matter?

  • any advice on dog muzzles?

My dog is an ex rescue dog. Most of the time he's the sweetest natured dog you can ask for, but there have been instances, on walks when for no particular reason he'll get aggressive towards people (especially men)

It's strange its not like it's every person, or every walk, months and months can go by showing any aggression at all. But because of this I don't feel I can trust him completely and I'd like him to wear a muzzle.

He had a fabric one that kept his mouth shut, but this felt too cruel as he couldn't pant properly, so I moved onto a plastic "cage" one. This worked well for a while, although because he hated wearing it he kept scraping it against the floor and his entire nose ended up getting infected and sore. Now it's healed but he has bald patches on his nose so the plastic one doesn't really seem like an option anymore. Does anyone know if there any other options for muzzles? Like maybe a cage type one but in a softer material or something. I really don't know what to do. He has to go on such boring walks because I have to make sure he's always in eyesight, or cornered off in a field so no one can take him by surprise.

He's seen behaviourists and "dog whisperers" but none of them have done any good. I don't think avoiding other people is doing him much good either but I really don't know that to do.

  • Who do you think is more ignorant and narrow minded?

Someone who doesn t know who her own Prime Minister is? Or what the main political parties are OR someone who doesn t want to read celebrity magazines and celebrity biographies or generally "embrace the celebrity culture"? Me and my friend are having an argument about it. Lol

  • Should I go for a new job even though it's a position lower than I already am?

My job at the moment is a supervisor at a petrol station. It's not the best job in the world, it's pretty stressful as staff keep leaving, I never get a rota for when I'm supposed to be working more than a week in advance, -and very often it's simply a days notice. Plus it's almost impossible to take holidays as I almost always get called in because my managers ill

Things are supposed to be changing soon hopefully as we'll soon be getting a new manager in and we're employing new staff. Also as it's a new company that's expanding very quickly it'll be easy to progress. And I have already been offered a potential pay rise.

I applied a while ago for a job at a local holiday resort as supervisor at one of their coffee shops. I've just heard back that they've filled the role internally but they've offered me a job of barista as they thought I'd fit in well with the team.

The place is beautiful, the benefits are amazing (free gym, low price holidays and cheap/free spa entry) and the team is much more close knit and "together" than any I've experienced before. BUT the pay is pretty low, and it is a step down from supervisor. I don't want to feel like I'm in a job that's going nowhere again, but I'm just so tempted to work in such a wonderful environment.

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!

  • My dog acts to protectively towards us, what can I do to stop this?

He's coming up 19 months, we've had him since he was around 11 months and he's normally the friendliest most loveing dog in the World. With anyone who has a dog with them, the dogs themselves, cats (he often sleeps on the same chair as my cat) and most people he's absolutely perfect. But when a person walks near me without a dog sometime he'll growl and barking really aggressively until the person moves away.

The thing is today when my mum took him for a walk someone spread their arm out in her direction and he bit her. It wasn't very hard, and it didn't draw blood. But the fact he did it I'm sure you'll agree is unacceptable.

I don't know what to do to stop him behaving this way. He once did it to two small children on bikes (not biting them, just growling). I'm hoping to go to a dog behavourist, but I can't afford to until I next get paid. In the mean time does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? I mean should I really tell him off when he does it? Or will this only make it worse?

I was thinking of asking random people (not people he's aggressive to of course but just random people) if they would mind throwing a treat that I would give them towards him, so he has a good association with strangers, but then I can see that being fraught with potential problems as well. what do you think?

Any ideas? I really love this dog and the idea of getting him put down is just unthinkable, but I can't have him attacking people.

  • How long is the gap between using your debit card and the money being taking from your account?

I need to buy my dad a present in time for his birthday, but I don't get paid until tomorrow. Do you think the payment will be taken out of my account today or tomorrow if I use my card to pay for it.

  • How long does PayPal take to take payments out of your account?

I'm getting paid tomorrow and until then I won't have much in my account. But if I don't order my dad's birthday present today it won't get here in time. How long does PayPal take to collect payments out of your account? Are they slow enough for me to buy it now and for them to take it tomorrow or later? Or does it work instantly?

  • How can I stop my dog from whining and howling, when he gets excited?

Whenever he goes into the car he does it, which is annoying but if we drive for long enough he eventually settles down. But because he's so bright and energetic I thought I might try agility. We went for our first session today and he obviously enjoyed doing the A-frame, the tunnels and jumps and was actually less stressed out about doing all of it than some of the other dogs. But whilst he was waiting for his turn, or we were supposed to be listening to instructions he just got way too excited, jumping and spinning in the air, trying to struggle out of his collar and howling and whining. It was kind of embarrassing and it's such a shame because he could probably do so well. Any ideas for how I could calm him down a bit? Or do you think I'm worrying a bit prematurely seeing as we've only been to one session.

  • How should I respond to this painfully shy guy who's asked me out?

He is ridiculously shy. I have problems with confidence myself so I need to be with someone who's going stretch me socially, rather than someone I'd have to worry about or avoid going to places with because he's too shy. He's asked me out twice (via email), how do I reject him without harming his confidence even more? He's actually a really good looking guy, it just makes me so sad to see him so unconfident and withdrawn.

  • What level of maths do I need to know to be a procurement assistant?

I have a GCSE in maths, albeit a C, but my GCSEs were a good 8 years ago now. I have an interview for a job as procurement assistant, which involves buying and selling equipment. After the interview I have to do a maths test. What kind of maths do you think I should brush up on? And do you have any suggestions of websites I can use to help me practise/learn what's required?

  • Can you answer this maths question and explain how you did it?

David has invested money in some shares that have a projected accumulated increase of 3.5% a year. In four years’ time, how much money will David have if he invested £450?

I keep getting £513 which is apparently wrong.
