  • How many grams of mushrooms should I take on my first time?

My friend and I have been thinking about trying shrooms. How much should we take? From my research, I've been thinking 3 or 3.5 grams will probably be safe and also give a really good high.

Also, I don't know if it's relevant or anything, but we smoke around 5 grams of weed a week. Would that affect our tolerance in any way?

    Suggestions are appreciated.

  • Quitting smoking when 18 years old?

I started smoking when I was 17 years old, for a particular set of reasons.

    1) I've always LOVED the smell. Ever since I was a child, I remember when people smoked around me, and it was close ones most of the time. Whenever someone smoked, I immediately noticed how I liked the smoke. It's weird to like the smell of cigarettes, I guess, but that's just me.

    2) Nostalgia. Everytime I drink a beer, smoke weed, go to the store, or even just wait for the bus, I keep remembering the good ol' times I had with the cigarette. Whether I was alone or with friends.

    3) Stress. I know that having "stress" as a reason to smoke is cliche, but bouncing work, school, & making the time to practice my passion as a film maker to make a career for myself is all very stressful. It makes it nearly impossible to not have a smoke every now and then.

It's been a year and a half since I started smoking. Recently, I had a sudden motivation to quit, and all those reasons I listed above just magically went away. I was smoking around 10 cigarettes a day, but I quit cold turkey. The first week was hell, obviously, but the second week I felt really good.

At the end of that second week, all of those reasons that made me start smoking, MADE ME START smoking again. Not as frequently, only about a cigarette everyday, if not none, but I just know it will get worse again.

Any advice/comments? Whatever your thoughts are, please spread them.

  • Can I get some screenwriting advice? I have a short film script written, I would like to hear some opinions.?

Here's the link to the script: http://www.filedropper.com/assassin

    It's a PDF file, don't worry, it's not a virus.

Please let me know what you think of the story, plot, and overall writing. Be brutally honest. I'm a film student and I'm a lot more experienced with directing and editing, but I've never been much of a writer; in fact, English is not my first language.

    Thanks for your advice.

  • Doing drugs in moderation...?

So I'm a 17 year old guy, I currently smoke weed, cigarettes (occasionally) and drink alcohol. The good thing I've noticed about myself is that I've never gotten addicted to anything. I love smoking weed, but I'm no where near addicted. I only do it twice a month MAXIMUM. And I smoke maybe 1 - 2 cigarettes a month.

So here comes the interesting part of the question...Me and all the grade 12's at my school are going away after prom and are planning to party hard...HARD. My question is, are hard drugs still as harmful as they are even if done moderately? Drugs such as Shrooms, Molly, or even Coke?

I only do weed twice a month, and I don't even buy it, I just do it with friends. So trying out hard drugs wouldn't really hook me since even my friends only do it once every 6 months. And like I said, I never feel the need to even buy weed since my friends just hook me up.

My parents are over protective, so it would even be harder for me to do drugs regularly, they just simply don't fit into my schedule, which is why I'm thinking about giving them a try.

    Any suggestions?

  • Can I get a growth spurt after 17?

    So, i'm 17 years old, 135 pounds and 5'4.

All of my grandparents never passed 5'4, but my Mom is 5'5 and my Dad is 5'10. I'm already really hairy. Chest, leg and arm hair, and can grow a full beard in less than a month. Is there still a chance that i'll grow?

  • Zoom lens or Prime lens for film making?

So my budget is around $300 and there are 3 items that I'm looking at buying.

    1. Canon 50mm 1.8

    2. Canon 55-250mm ll 4.0 - 5.6

    3. Opteka steadycam pro

I'm thinking about buying 50mm prime and steady cam first, then save up some more and get the zoom lens. Would you agree with this order? Would a prime lens help more with making videos?

I know the capibilities of all the items listed but I want to get your opinion. Thanks.

  • Good zoom lens for my Canon t3i?

Hi, so I'm getting a canon t3i soon. My primary use is film making, but my secondary use is taking pictures at weddings, and other general events (volunteering, just to get some experience).

I found these two offers on Best Buy:

    http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/canon-canon-eo...

    http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/-/b0000079.asp...

And I was wondering if one of those is good for taking photos of objects far away, and also which one is better than the other. I've also been doing some research and found out that some lenses tend to change in brightness as the user zooms in/out due to the aperture change. If so, would those lenses not be worth it?

The camera without the lens is $500, should I spend the extra $100 on one of those lenses? Or should I wait for a couple of months and save up for a good zoom lens of a higher price?

    Thanks for the advice,

  • A good beginner microphone for the Canon T3i?

I recently bought the Canon T3i and I'm loving it. Me and my friends like to film a lot of short films and videos and edit them as well. Video wise, I'm pretty experienced (been making short films with my friends for about 6 years now). I'm 17 at the moment.

The whole camera is prefect, other than the fact that DSLR cameras have crappy audio.

My budget for a mic is ~ $300 maximum.

I've been doing a lot of research on this and I've narrowed it down to either getting the Rode Videomic Pro - OR - the Zoom h1.

I would much rather get the zoom h1, however, I can't seem to find a boom pole for it, or a shock mount on the Canon T3i.

Do you have anymore suggestions on which mic I should get?

P.S. Which one of these mics would you say is better for shooting a High School theatrical play?

    Thanks!

    Gender: Male

I Exercise (weight lifting and cardio) 5 times a week. I eat healthy.

All of my grandparents are no taller than 5'5. HOWEVER, my mother is 5'6 and my father is 5'10. Is there any chance of me hitting one or two more growth spurts in the near future?

  • Should I get the iPhone 5s or 5c?

Hey, so my current phone's contract will end in about 2 months and I want to start a new 2 year's contract. Now, I have 3 options, but keep in mind that money is an issue.

Option #1: Get the iPhone 5c as soon as my contract ends, since it's only $80 and is the same as the iPhone 5 which is good enough for me.

Option #2: Get the iPhone 5s as soon as my contract ends for $230.

Option #3: Wait for the iPhone 6 to come out, which will drop the price for the iPhone 5s; THEN I can buy the 5s for a lower price.

Option #3 seems the best, however, if I wait for the iPhone 6, that means I'll be without a phone for a couple of weeks, which is impossible. I need my phone every day.

What do you advise me to do?

  • Should I tell this girl that I like her?

So I had a school play and we started rehearsing about 2 months ago, we had 3 show nights and they all went flawlessly. The play was for a grade 12 class but they didn't have enough actors and the teacher wanted me to be in it.

The play included a mixture of different Shakespeare plays, and Romeo and Juliet was one of them. Yes, I'm Romeo, and my crush was Juliet.

Now this is probably the cheesiest High School "Crush Story" you will hear, but I don't know what to do.

We had a lot of hugging scenes, singing, flirting, and even kissing. Even during rehearsals, we practice stage kissing, but sometimes we "mess up" and real kiss; but it's never awkward, we always laugh it out.

Now that the play is over, I can't stop thinking about the good times I had during rehearsals with everyone, especially with her.

She's not perfect. She occasionally smokes weed, and I heard that she has gotten with many guys. But there are too many positives about her that out-weigh her negatives.

We rarely ever see each other at school because we have different schedules and what not. However, the cast and crew might have an after party and I'm invited.

She's grade 12, and I'm grade 11. She always acts flirty with me, however, she acts flirty with everyone else as well. What should I do? Should I just tell her privately, upfront and be mature about it? Or will that be too creepy?

Sorry for making it long, but I really need advice, thank you!

  • Are these good max lifts for my weights?

In 3 months I'll be turning 17, and I was wondering if I'm considered fairly strong.

Max Squat: some where around 205 - 225 pounds.

    Opinions are appreciated :)

  • Can you hit a growth spurt after 16? (For Guys)?

In 3 months I will be 17 years old and I'm wondering If i'm going to get taller at all.

Currently, I'm 5'5, my Dad is 5'10 and my mom is 5'7. While both my parents are taller than me, my grandparents are all short, and when I say short, I mean none of my grandparents are taller than 5'6.

Yes, I've hit puberty long ago, I'm as hairy as a gorilla, and my voice is fairly deep, but do I have a chance in hitting one more growth spurt?

Thanks in advance for all the answers!

  • My max lifts aren't as heavy as I deserve...?

Hi, I'm 16 years old, will be turning 17 in 3 months, and I'm starting to think that I'm genetically weak. When I first started working out at 14, my bench was 95lbs, deadlift was 135lbs, and squat was about 105lbs.

These numbers shown above are 3 reps max. now, My max bench is 185lb, deadlift is 245lb, and squat is 205lb.

This might sound like an improvement, but I'm not proud at all. I've been working out for an average of 4 - 6 times a week, getting proper nutrition, and doing both strength and hypertrophy. I also did MMA for about a year which really increase my striking power and speed in terms of punching and kicking, and strengthened my back from the wrestling aspect.

But I still don't feel like these lifts are what I deserve, especially because there are a lot of other students I know who are the same age as I am, but deadlift 455lb and bench 275, which is double what I can lift.

Is this because of my genetics? Or am I doing anything wrong? If you have enough knowledge about this, please inform me.

    Much appreciated!

  • How can I increase my vertical jump for slam dunking?

I'm a 16 year old boy and I'm only 5'5. I know it's a long shot, but I still wanna try my best to at least touch the hoop. I've heard that you have to have strong legs to jump high, which is confusing to me because I'm only 145lbs but can squat 225lbs 3 - 5 reps.

Any tips on increasing my vertical jump? Thanks!

  • What camera to get for videos and film making?

This was my previous question on cameras:

    http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=201...

After many responses telling my that a camcorder is better for video than DSLR's, I've decided to buy a Camcorder. The only question is, WHICH camcorder should I buy?

At a budget of around $600, I'm not expecting amazing cameras with outstanding quality, but I want something decent to shoot my short films with. I thought about buying a Canon t3i, or maybe expand my budget and get a Canon t5i or a Nikon D5200, but as people have said, Camcorders are better for video.

My quesion is, for my type of budget ($750 MAXIMUM) would a camcorder or a DSLR do a better job? If camcorder, can you list some really good ones for this price range? Thanks a lot!

    2 AnswersMovies7 years ago
  • Is the Nikon D5200 good for film making? (Or should I get a camcorder?)?

Okay so I'm 16 years old, been making short films for the past 3 years, I'm really good at using programs like After Effects, Premiere Pro, and I've just started learning The foundry nuke, and I'm pretty serious about getting into the film industry, mainly doing Visual Effects.

The only problem is, I don't have a decent camera. I was thinking about getting the D5200, but I wanted to get advice from people who have had more experiences with cameras.

For VIDEO, would a DSLR or a Camcorder be a better choice? I like using the lenses on the DSLR's, playing around with the DOF and stuff, but is that only good for taking stills? Or will it work just as well for video?

Please include your thoughts. My budget is around $750.

  • How to start a career in the film industry?

Hi, I'm a 16 year old male, and the film industry is my favourite place to be in. I've been film making since I was 13, and since I don't have many actors in the family, I've been in all of my short movies with my 11 year old brother.

This year, I singed up for drama class in grade 11, and It's great. I'm one of the few individuals who can bring characters to life while performing. After being in my first christmas play, I've been receiving so many compliments from the teachers, parents, and students themselves. They even filmed the play, and I actually impressed myself.

Here's my question; i'm a good actor, and a good derictor and editor, so what? How can I start a career in those fields? Is it possible to become both? (director and actor). Thoughts, information, and suggestions are much appreciated.
