  • When will the Salary Czar cap the salaries of pro sports and Hollywood?

It seems a little odd that with as much money that pro sports teams are given they would be on the pay czars radar. As an example look at the NY Yankees; A Rod makes 30+ million a year, Jeters makes 20+ million a year. That seems a little excessive to me. Or how about Michael Moore? For some one who HATES capitalism so much, he seems to have his gravy sweating azz rolling in dough (no offence intended toward bakers)?

  • Are big corporations the scapegoats or victims? Or do they deserve it?

I will try and keep this short and to the point. Big oil, big tobacco, Big Booze (and many others) are all being demonized by the current administration for making to much money, taking to many profits. Granted they are reporting record or near record profits each quarter. So, the general (misinformed) public jumps on that bandwagon and they are ready to take to the streets with pitchforks’ and torches to storm these company headquarters to tar and feather the CEO or anyone who gets a bonus. Yet, no one brings to publics attention that despite the Big oils 7 cents per gallon profit, the government (Local, State, Federal) is making 54 cents per gallon. Or big tobacco is making 15 cents profit per pack of 20 cigarettes while the government (Local, State, Federal) is making $1.48 per pack of 20 cigarettes. This is just 2 examples of many. So my question. Why are we allowing the government to do this demonizing when they clearly are the winners? Could it be they want to keep the focus off of themselves?

  • Have unions outgrown their usefulness?

It seems like they are no longer there to protect the workers and the workers rights, but to grow their numbers, increase their take on the workers pay and contribute more to the party of their choice. Which is typically the democrats.

  • Is Algore as big or bigger crook/thief then Bernie Madoff? Couldn’t what Algore is doing be considered f?

Granted Bernie Madoff stole money from people who had trusted him and his company with their life savings, to the tune of several billions of dollars. However, he has been caught, prosecuted and now will be in jail the rest of his life. All because he “lied”.

Now we have Algore who is blatantly stealing money, not only from this generation, but many generations to come. Only he and a few select others will profit, to the tune of several billions of dollars, from his lies. All because he “lies”.

Morally I am having a VERY difficult time seeing the difference. Except one is in jail and one is free to spread more lies.

  • What is so mythical about the healthcare reform?

Please feel free to comment on one or all.

Disclaimer: Statistics and polls can be made to look anyway the polling service wants them to look. I personally don’t put much faith or weight into any of them. (Unless of course it validates my argument). The numbers used in this question are based on the “theoretic” number of new people that currently do not have health insurance and would now be covered. Roughly 13% of the current population.

In a recent poll about healthcare (insurance) reform. Over 500 people were polled and the outcome indicated that over 50% of those polled believed the “myths” about healthcare. So my question is, logically speaking, (I know, this is politics and there is no such thing as logic)

    - With a 13% increase in covered individuals how could wait times not increase?

    - Healthcare reform is a step toward a “single payer” system. How could the govt NOT be involved in healthcare decisions?

    - Taxpayers will pay for abortions. If this is something covered under the bill, again, how would this be a NOT covered procedure?

    - Will illegal immigrants be covered by the healthcare bill?

    - Premiums will go up once the bill is pasted. (increase in taxes)

    - Medicare benefits will be decreased?

  • Politically; who has done more damage to race relations post civil war?

“Damage” probably isn’t the appropriate term, maybe “setback” is more fitting. Seems our left-leaning brothers and sisters have done some serious damage since the end of the civil war. BTW, I am not talking just black and white I’m talking all non-white as the recipient of the damage. Am I incorrect in my thinking?

  • Considering the track record or the democrats, why do you support them?

If you look at the democrats from the early to mid 20th century, there were some pretty shady characters with some pretty colorful backgrounds. There seems to be some very strong similarities to those that are democrats and in power today. So is it a stretch to believe they have the same agenda as the earlier democrats?

  • Which one would you vote for?

Candidate A - Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologists. He's had two Mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.

Candidate B - He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.

Candidate C - He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and never cheated on his wife

  • What if the political race was turned on its ear?

The Democratic "October Surprise" we find out is that Obama has been secretly running the campaign trail for Hillary Clinton and is stepping aside in the final stretch only to turn it over to her. Hillary surprises everyone and lets Joe go and calls in Pelosi as her VP pick.

The GOP not wanting to be out done, says they are reversing their ticket and Palin will take on the Presidents roll and McCain the VP, but Palin decides to go with the lesser known secret VP want-a-be Condoleezza Rice.

Talk about throwing things in a talk spin. And can anyone else hear the Twilight Zone theme song playing?

  • What is a good example of Socialism and it working to the benefit of the country and its people? ?

Socialist governments are not ones to be able to anticipate needs and demands of goods and services and inevitably the reason that they fail. Is there a example of a socialist country where they have flourished and been prosperous?
