  • External hard drives for PC-Mac transfers?

Hey all! So I'm a bit dumb when it comes to external hard drives since I've never owned one. I'll be purchasing one soon and need to use it for transferring files from a PC to a Mac, and possibly vice-versa. After doing some research, my mind was boggled with talks of formats and drivers. I thought an external hard drive functioned similarly to a USB flash drive. Is this not (or only sometimes) the case? And if not, do I have to format it to Fat32 to get it to work with both a PC and a Mac? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. I'm looking at either a 1 TB Seagate or a 2 TB Western Digital, if that helps at all.

  • Sight-singing accidentals?

I've been working heavily on my sight-singing skills this summer, and I've seen some solid progress. However, I've recently come across a bit of a rough spot- sight-singing notes with accidentals. I'm sure that with work in playing and memorizing scales and degrees it'll come, but I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to best focus my time (not really a shortcut, just the best way to approach it) so that I'll be able to sight-sing notes with accidentals, especially from one of the bigger intervals. Thanks!

  • Good solfege exercises?

Hey all! I'm a singer who needs a little help. I really want to better my sight-singing skills using solfege for my college's music program. I auditioned once and did not gain admission. When I asked why/how to better prepare for next time, I was told I sang well, but my sight-singing and interval recognition was off. I've been gaining ground with my ear training, but my solfege technique is progressing much slower. So I'm wondering if anyone would pass on the training techniques they use to work on their solfege skills. Right now I'm mostly sight-singing random (yet beginner-level) melodies I find online, but I'm curious as to what others do.

  • Will American Idiot return to Broadway?

I love Green Day and the soundtrack to the musical, but wasn't able to catch the show while it was going on. Any chance/word on it returning to Broadway at some point?
