Why don't commentators pick the games that they call?
On college gameday, for the games that Kirk Herbstreit is doing the color commentary, he doesn't pick who he thinks will win. Also, Ron Jaworski doesn't pick the games he does for monday night football. Why is this?

Here's the situation:
A reciever catches a pass downfield, then begins running east to west. Another player on his team runs west to east a yard in front of him. The reciever with the ball hands the ball off to his teamate. Is this legal? Mind you, the player who recieved the handoff is a yard in front of the reciever with the ball.
Please cite the rule that states the legality of this play, or please give a link that says the rule.
