Item Posted To Brazil Has Ended Up In Hong Kong? What Can I Do?
Sent an item via Royal Mail [UK post service] to Brazil and the tracking information has just updated to tell me the item is in its "destination country" of Hong Kong. Something has obviously gone wrong as it's supposed to be going to Brazil NOT hong kong. My postage receipt clearly states that the destination country is Brazil so I can but assume this was a mistake at a UK post office.
Should I panic? And furthermore, what can/should I do?
1 AnswerOther - Brazil9 years agoOpening An Ebay Dispute For Non-Paying Bidder, Do I Have To Contact Buyer By Phone According To Ebay Policy?
I sold a hoodie on Ebay and was swamped by foreign buyers who wanted the hoodie, primarily from Greece. I agreed nominally to send this hoodie to Greece as long as the item was sent Registered mail, a Greek bidder won and hasn't paid.
I've heard that when opening a dispute Ebay advises you to phone the Buyer. Am i obligated under Ebay Policy to do so, as a phone call from the UK to Greece is likely to work out more expensive than the Hoodie itself?
4 AnswersOther - Internet10 years agoEbay - complaining to a seller about the quality of an item, what can I do if they don't respond?
I bought a pair of jeans, they were sold as brand new by a shop. They arrived to me, which took 20 days longer than the seller estimated, but I was generally happy with the jeans so I decided to overlook this. On the first day of wearing them (just around my home) one belt loop broke, the chains broke several times and the belt started to rip. I wore them outside for a 5 minute trip into town today and the bottom of both legs starting to rip.
I haven't done anything unusual or hard-work on clothing, I've worn them just 3 times and they're already showing signs of serious wear and tear. I chose to write to the seller about the issues I've been having with the item, I'm not impressed as the jeans cost me quite a lot of money, if the seller doesn't respond or tries to fob me off, what else can I do?
Do I have a case for opening a dispute over the item not being as described or something similar?
I've been using ebay for nearly 2 years but never had a problem quite like this with any items I've ever bought so I'm not really sure what to do.
1 AnswerOther - Internet10 years agoPaying By Paypal Through Escrow? (aliexpress)?
Long story short, I'm looking for bulk lots of jewellery parts for making necklaces and such like and discovered aliexpress, they use Escrow but offer paypal payment through Escrow. Just wondering how this works, if escrow is safe and if a seller says they accept 'escrow' does that include paying by paypal via escrow?
I considered just creating an Escrow account but I can't say I'm in a rush as that's just another set of login details I have to remember and I'm not sure if I can trust their security and how safe my data is, I know similar can be said for Paypal, but I can't say sharing my details on 2 very similar sites seems to be any wiser.
3 AnswersPersonal Finance10 years agoStarting an ebay business based in UK? (taxes, costs etc)?
I have been an insane collector of music merchandise, CDs and memorabilia for a very long time. My home is now fit to over-flowing and I have decided it's time to sell onto other people. I have such a large number of items that I would like to open an Ebay business, but I must admit I'm completely at a loss about taxes and costs of doing so.
Obviously Im aware of ebay final value fees, seller fees and shop fees, I'm mostly looking for information about taxes I will be eligible for and generally what I need to do to ensure I sell entirely above board.
So, who should be aware that I'm self-employed through an ebay business, how do I ensure I'm paying the right taxes and what taxes should I be paying?
Thanks for the help.
2 AnswersSmall Business1 decade agoEbay Seller: I Will Only Post To Europe, USA, Canada, Bidder In Israel Winning On Item. What Can I Do?
Selling a CD collection and decided I would post to the US, Europe and Canada, which was going smoothly until a bidder in Israel placed a huge bid on one item. What can I do, am I obliged to send it to them now they've placed a bid or have I got grounds for bid cancellation?
Also, if I do post to Israel, if any of you have ever tried it has the item arrived and are there any particular places in Israel I should not post to? (other than the Gaza strip).
3 AnswersOther - Internet1 decade agoMy Right's To See A Female Doctor? (UK Resident)?
I would like to see a female Doctor, I have no faith in my GP (who's male) who seems to get scared every time I mention anything remotely female. He's failed miserably with treating my problem and I would like to see a female doctor. I have phoned my GP surgery and they have told me repeatedly it's "too difficult" to offer me a spot with a female doctor and the best they can offer is a female nurse.
Do I have the right to ask to see a female doctor are they legally obliged to let me see one? Would changing my GP altogether to a female Doctor make this easier because if that's what I have to do I'll do it as I've let this problem go on since mid-March.
1 AnswerOther - General Health Care1 decade agoEbay Buyer Takes 2 Weeks To Pay Then Requests Refund 3 Weeks After Getting Item. What Can I Do?
I sold an item on ebay, it was a hand-made skirt, made probably 20 years ago if not longer ago. Auction ended on 18th March. Winning bidder at £5.50 didn't contact me for 2 weeks and then when I contacted them asking if there was a payment problem claimed they had paid. She finally paid up and I sent the item on March 22nd, she contacts me today after having the item for nearly 3 weeks claiming that it isn't long enough and not what she wanted. I clearly gave length measurements in inches and used 5 pictures all from different angles to illustrate what the skirt looked like. She wants to return the item and get a refund. I stated on the listing that no returns were accepted.
What is my position in terms of accepting a return and giving a refund? Can an ebay dispute still be opened this late after an item was sold? Would I also be in a position to dispute any negative/neutral feedback she may leave me if I do refuse return and refund?
I'm really not sure where I stand having not had any problems selling on ebay before and am hoping someone with more experience may be able to help me out.
Thank you!
