  • RHH: Where do you draw the line for too much trash talking in songs?

What I'm saying is, how much can you listen to a rapper rap about how good of a rapper they are, or how bad the competition is, or a variation of this before it gets old? I notice that the crux of lyrical substance for the genre is bloating one's own ego, sometimes at the expense of the listener.

Personally, if someone happens to be the most skilled rapper there is, but spends more than half of the album talking about how good they are, I'll stop listening to them. In a song, I want to hear them convey some sort of emotion.

RHH2: Who are your favorite battle rappers?

RHH3: Who are your favorite rappers that end up talking about emotion?

BQ: What's your favorite genre outside hip hop, and what are your favorite artists from that genre? For example, mine is indie rock, and my favorite artists are Modest Mouse, Girls, Deerhunter, The Smiths, The Go! Team, and Neutral Milk Hotel.

  • Buy or Sell: Nickelback really isn't that bad? HEAR ME OUT?

You've gotta admit they're brave. Despite overwhelming critical opposition, they remain true to their style. They can consistently create radio hits without compromising their originality. They're not afraid to appeal to the mainstream when they have to. And to top it off, Chad Kroeger is actually a lot better of a singer than people give him credit for. I don't know why everyone has to constantly hate on Nickelback; they're not even that bad.

  • Which singers do you think have great voices for rapping?

I heard Chris Brown attempting to rap. From a technical standpoint, I was shaking my head in shame. From a voice and flow standpoint, I was actually pretty surprised. I think if he tightened up his lyrics, got better beats, and stopped being so shallow, he could actually be a pretty good rapper.

So, who else do you think voices that would be great for rapping?

  • Hello people of RHH...?

How was your day? Mine was awesome. My school had a project over the last month where our goal was to build a trebuchet that was capable of firing 28 meters. Today, the due date, all the trebuchets were arranged in the soccer field in a circle and we were firing at a circular wall decorated like a castle. Our goal was to get it inside the castle, and possibly hit our teacher (he was standing in the pit and the object was to hit him). Well, we hit the castle wall for an A-. The best part? I got to skip all my classes because we spent the whole day outside, grilling burgers, blasting music, and hitting teachers. It was a lot of fun.

    Okay, bragging done.

MQ: There is a skit on some album or mixtape where this man is ranting about a woman he loved, and he says he's not going to love again because he's just going to get burned or something to that extent. It sounds like it's from a movie, and it seems like he's arguing with one of his friends. What is it?
